How does everyone feel about Vicarious. Im sure you all understand its meaning.
We've already mentioned that in previous pages. |
This song reminds me of EMOTIVE.
how does it remind you of emotive? |
This song reminds me of EMOTIVE.
Really? I totally hated Emotive. I guess it kind of has that "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums" feel to it, sort of. |
something talks in the background in the song vicarious. What is being said
I knew Maynard was going to incorporate some APC style vocals in the new album, as long as he dosen't do the "AYIIIIIEEEE" part from The Package (awesome song).

Haha that bugged me so much! Great song, but its hard for me to enjoy it when he does that, haha. I love it when he does his screaming but yet still audible singing thing he does. It's beautiful. |
I don't know why exactly it reminds me of EMOTIVE, but I get that feel from it. Just the whole tone of his vocals reminds me of the type of singing he did on EMOTIVE. But like I said before, there were a lot of vocal melodies in this song that reminded me of APC.
i keep listening to vicarious and it makes me want that release date to come so bad 28 or 29th of april apparently for australians lol
Yeah, some of the vocals reminded me of APC as well.
Yeah, some of the vocals reminded me of APC as well.
Didnt some of the reviews say that it sounded a bit like a perfect circle |
I'm loving the APC influence. I want to read the review for Vicarious again.
Speaking of Emotive, I love the last song (i can't think of the name) where it's just Maynard singing.
As much as i like apc i sorta think it shouldnt be incorparated in tool i dunno why i just liked them as seperate entitys i spose

I don't feel as if they are incorporated, as far as I'm concerned they are two separate entities. But it's hard not to carry some vocal melodies over from a side-project, when you haven't been singing in Tool since 2001 and only done that side-project since. I hear some APC when he says "from a distance". |

That would be awesome, I'm still hoping for another Reflection :).

Fiddle and the Drum. I find it relaxing sa well as the track When the Leevee breaks. Both songs are quite soothing. Other than those and Passive the rest of the album isn't a very listenable album. |
Well it makes me wonder how it will be like Third Eye. I think they are speaking in a strictly musical sense, meaning 10,000 Days will be another long as's song like Third Eye.

I luckly got the CD for a Christmas present. Either way i probably would have bought it just for the sake of having it. Have to complete that collection. Today is 3 months later from when i last listened to a Tool song. The anticipation for this labume is killing me. |

i didn't even give in to listening to the sample. I'm staying strong. |
I figured the mp3 is going to be just as good if not better quality than a radio station, so I just listened.

Yeah I think it could very well be the new almighty track as well. We'll see on May 2nd. So I'm on like my 20 or 30th something listen of Vicarious, and I've noticed that the song is a bit trippier than other Tool songs. There's A LOT going on simultaneously in this song with the music. It's also really song, making it kind of hard to absorb everything going on in it. It's trippy as hell. |
So who else has heard Vicarious? Thoughts?
i didn't even give in to listening to the sample. I'm staying strong.
so u havnt listened to the OFFICIAL LEAK lol good luck man |

Yeah dude and it also makes sense with the "Lost Keys (blame Haufmann)" track that references to the creator of LSD. It looks like this album might be trippier than previous ones, maybe the band has been doing some LSD. I wouldn't be surprised, considering Blair's post on TOOLBAND.

what was his post on toolband again this track is definently heavier aswell aye |
Has anyone thought it sounds like a perfect circle because they happen to have the same singer as Tool. How stupid could you fools be?
I remember when you were all crying to this forum with " Vicarious cant be the name of a Tool song", while i was telling you otherwise.
True, they have the same singer, but Maynard sings differently in each band. But now he seems to have carried some styles he normally did in APC over to Tool. That's what I meant about sounding like APC.
No. He doesn't sing different in each band. Thats like saying He has Tits in APC, A penus in Tool, and A vaghina in His new project. Its the same vocal chords blasting out from the same 5 foot 3 frame.
i wonder how this song was leaked?
