Yea I enjoy Paint It Black and a few of their other riffs, but other than that the Stones aren't very big in my book. Their music is kind of plain to me. They have been around for a while though, I'll give em that.
Same here, I could never really get into them, but they do have some songs I enjoy.

Broken Arrow 01-02-2005 11:46 AM

That's the first song I will learn once I get a harmonica. Then Bring It On Home, then Helpless, and so on.

Yeah it was simple. I'm just having a hard time finding the tabs. The place where I actually found the harmonica for Heart of Gold was in the Gutiar tab for it on mx. Anyways if anyone has a good website if you could share.

KARMAPOL1CE 01-02-2005 12:01 PM

Harmonica tabs are so hard to find. Most sites make you pay to use them.

BludgeonySteve 01-02-2005 12:01 PM

Neil Young's one hell of a harmonica player :).

I wish I had a harmonica. That owuld be ---> :thumb:

Woodstock 01-02-2005 12:17 PM

I think I should get a harmonica, it seems to be the fad of the thread.

jpj 01-02-2005 12:18 PM

Easy easy stuff but I found some problems with it but its pretty good.

jpj 01-02-2005 12:42 PM

Thanks, I got the intro down pretty good.

Broken Arrow 01-02-2005 12:45 PM

Yeah its sweet but easy. Especially if you know the guitar(also increibly easy) because then you can do then thing all by yourself. All I need is one of the crazy things that hold your guitar for your while you play so you can do both.

I can promise you that the transcription is simple. I use to have a key to harmonica transcriptions, but I can't remember any of it.

thickasabrick 01-02-2005 05:54 PM

i can't play any classic rock songs on my harmonica, i can only play things like When The Saints Go Marching In, and Battle Hymn of the Republic or whatever it's called. I havent tried learning any new songs in about three years though. I'm thinking of actually learning how to play harmonica well, so i can play Dylan songs.

Hey Badmoon (or anyone who knows the answer), who all plays guitar on the song Terrapin Station? I think somewhere around 12 minutes into the song, there is a guitar solo that doesnt sound like anyone that i'm used to hearing in the Grateful Dead.
Did they have another guitarist for that song, or is it one of the normal Grateful Dead members?

Well, being that "Terrapin Station" is not a "normal" Grateful Dead song, it wouldn't be that surpising that the guitar playing wouldn't be normal. So, it is most likely Garcia.

thickasabrick 01-02-2005 06:26 PM

oh really thats cool. he's a pretty amazing guitar player, i didnt know he could play like that. i still prefer his more bluegrassy playing, but this is good as well.

badmoon you always seem to show up right when i ask a question.

edit- and that song is ****ing brilliant!

 yea

Fact: Billy Cobham played with Bob Weir (G. Dead) in Bobby & The Midnites. Billy has also played in Jazz is Dead. Which is a Fusion Jam Band that did Jazz covers of many Grateful Dead tracks.

Never knew Cobham was that close before I heard those.
