I picked up the Our Band Could Be Your Life book someone posted a few pages back. I'm finished with the Black Flag and the Minutemen chapters, and I'm about to start Mission of Burma. This could be the greatest thing ever written.

DaveToopes 03-30-2006 06:38 PM

It can't possibly be better than The Fountainhead.

Zmev 03-30-2006 07:44 PM

You'd think that, wouldn't you.

Glitterati 03-30-2006 08:06 PM

pron is for people who can't get girlfriends

some girls in my painting class asked me today if I ever measured myself. It took me about thirty seconds to realize what they were talking about measuring.

Luxor 03-30-2006 08:48 PM

No, it's for guys who can't get girlfriends and girlfriends that don't put out.

FA 03-30-2006 08:57 PM
That's rediculous. 90s is A- to A+, 80s is B- to B+, 70s is C- to C+, 60s is D- to D+, everything else is an F.
Yea, but I'm used to it I guess. I've noticed our grading scale is a little more strict than other schools. I guess it helps us in a way... But if I had your grading scale I'd be a 4.0 student.

Luxor 03-30-2006 08:59 PM

You fail if you get below a 70?

:-\

FA 03-30-2006 09:22 PM

Yea, 69 and below is an F.

biografiend 03-30-2006 10:02 PM
3.83 ranks second in your class? That seems high, yes it's a very good GPA but we have onoly 40 kids in our class (small town) and 3.83 would rank like 12. What's your grading scale?
It's the same as the one you listed. Our GPA scale only goes to 4.0, and the person who is ranked first has a 3.93 I think. My GPA just for this year, however, is 4.0. I slacked off quite abit freshman year. I only have 30 kids in my grade, small towns are icky.

haha, I remember my friend got accused of measuring back in grade 7. Or perhaps it was comparing.

ATM 03-31-2006 08:07 AM

talk show host 03-31-2006 11:24 AM

Luxor 03-31-2006 11:37 AM

BillCosby 03-31-2006 01:11 PM

So I'm not at school right now, for complete lazy/apathetic reasons. However, today is also supposed to be another day of massive walk-outs and the like. I guess they already locked down school at about 9 o'clock this morning.

Can't say I'm too sorry to be missing that. They probably think I'm one of the protesters though.

Robert Crumb 03-31-2006 01:45 PM

I got today off from school. Cesar Chavez Day, guey.

ATM 03-31-2006 01:52 PM

I have to go to work in 13 minutes, crap.
I got today off from school. Cesar Chavez Day, guey.
That's why they're walking out. Monday was for his birthday, and today is the actual holiday.

Luxor 03-31-2006 04:40 PM

pixiesfanyo 03-31-2006 04:44 PM

So, Ghostface Killah is coming to my town the 26th.

BillCosby 03-31-2006 04:59 PM

SAT tommorow.

Also, BTBAM.

br3ad_man 03-31-2006 05:58 PM

oooo lucky

I'm going to up to Brisbane tomorrow to my uncle's house for a BBQ. I used to hate family things like this, but now I love them. I think since my Pa died, the whole family on my Mum's side has become a lot closer. It's really nice.

I've got 3 gigs coming up...my old drama teacher's hip-hop band (they're supporting De La Soul tonight), Tapey's band and then a bunch of hardcore bands. Should be fun. Now I have to go clean my room and listen to Refused.

I like how you say "old drama teacher's hip-hop band" first then DE LA MOTHERFUCKIN SOUL in parentheses. It's tight.

br3ad_man 03-31-2006 06:59 PM

JonM 03-31-2006 07:42 PM

I spent most of last night holding people's hair back while they puked. And I'm not even back at school yet.

pixiesfanyo 03-31-2006 07:47 PM

Can I Scream?

JonM 03-31-2006 07:58 PM

We all scream for ice cream.

So, I found out lately my sideburns grow reaaaaally fast nowadays. I stopped shaving around Monday and my face is gettiing fuzzier every day at an almost alarming rate. I must say I like this trend.

Slug, I'm doing work experience at a music store too :-D starting in about a month, I get to listen to music all day, which is like my dream job. My grandma said I should get a job at a radio station. It's perfect for me, I can be around music all day, plus, I can be homely as a mule and no-one can complain :-D
Can I Scream?
Good work.

Alright guys, I've got to tell you something strange strange strange:

So I come downstairs this morning (about an hour ago), and my mom goes "Do you know the band Sonic Youth?"

I said "yea, why?"

"well apparently aunt gretchen is friends with them and so they are going to be staying at grandma and grandpas house. you should go so that you can meet them, because you're invited"

I'm excited as hell. The funny thing is, this is the second time that my aunt has tried to bring a band to stay with my grandparents. The last was Calexico.

Wanker 04-01-2006 11:02 AM

Wow, you saucy bastard.

ATM 04-01-2006 11:03 AM

What the hell do I even say to the band?

Kyle 04-01-2006 11:19 AM

lmao @ Washboard forum. I come home from work and it appears, how long has it been there?

edit: Also a Polka forum, I feel like I have missed out on so much.
