Obscura seems to be the album with the biggest rift in opinions on these forums.

First two Gorguts are excellent.

Obscura blows hard.

I could never get into Obscura but I actually like From Wisdom to Hate.

Obscura is badass, whine more fgts.

Why waste your time on a band like Gorguts when you can listen to a good band like The Faceless...man they are so much more brutal and techzzz than Gorguts...

I haven't listened to From Wisdom To Hate for a long time. Might have to whip it out now.

FWTH is almost as good as Obscura. It's darker and a little less spazzy but doesn't have the same spiritual dimension(?)

Why everyone keeps using "masterpiece" when refering to that album? It's seriously boring, I'm gonna listen to the first two albums in a little bit, myfriend told me those 2 are different so yeah...

the first 2 albums are crushing oldschool somewhat technical death metal

Album is good so far, Stiff and Cold and Disincarnated were very good. And yes, it is different from Obscura.

Yeah no problem dude, glad you liked it. I love how controlling the snare is on that album - on songs like The Suffering it's seriously like a ****ing kick to the head.

Haven't listened to them in a while but out of the first two Gorguts albums I prefer The Erosion Of Sanity, mainly because it has a very strong first half (tails off a bit later on).

yeah TEOS is a bit monotonous, Condemned to Obscurity is a ****ing amazing song though

TEOS is all I ever listened to, and that was years ago. Should give them another try.

I might re download Obscura I havent listened to it in like a year but i was definitely not fond of it back then.

Gorguts is definitely a band which I'll be getting into more, I've heard a few tracks and they sound crazy and unique. Maybe they'll stick and I'll like them. Whats their best album?
