PepsiMetal 07-27-2005 02:44 PM

yes

The_dude 07-27-2005 02:44 PM

lol this is so far from metallica

PepsiMetal 07-27-2005 02:45 PM

Manowar and Judas Priest aren't hair metal just so you know. Bon Jovi is the only hair metal band I can stand.

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 02:45 PM
dude thats sweat i thought i was the only hair metal person in here
I like hair metal, I like heavy metal, thrash, a lot of metal, as long as I can understand the singer and they have a good voice. Metallica included.

The_dude 07-27-2005 02:47 PM

ya i also like most metal except for the screming voices and super not understandable guitar and bass riffs

PepsiMetal 07-27-2005 02:48 PM

Yea I also dislike screamy black/death metal music. I can listen to it for a few minutes, but becomes annoying so fast.

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 02:48 PM
ya i also like most metal except for the screming voices and super not understandable guitar and bass riffs
Yeah same here, I play guitar, so as long as music is good, and the singer is ear friendly, I'll listen to them. Death is the only band I can take that breaks my laws. Chuck was a great man.

The_dude 07-27-2005 02:50 PM

they should open a metal trivia thread or do they hav one it would be pretty cool

Lildrummerboy168 07-27-2005 02:52 PM

play on metallica names

aight me and my friend were messing around online and we got some new names for the metallica crew:
Lars Imrich ("sad but true")
James Spedfield ("Ain't my bitch") :naughty:
Kirk Hammered ("Whiskey in a Jar") :thumb:
Rob TrueJello ("the thing that should not be")

so can you guys beat these?

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 02:52 PM
ya really late lol that was like an hour ago but anyway wat equipment do u use i use session pearls with sabian
I just sold my old kit, I'm looking to buy a Taye Rock Pro.

and I use Zildjian cymbals. One Z, one ZBT (not to bad, but not very good either) and one A, and Z Dinobeats for hats, though I'm looking to upgrade those to Mastersound's very soon.

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:00 PM

wow isnt taye like a turkish co. or something but i dont know much aboutzildjian other than sabian and zildjian are brothers

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:01 PM

I am glad I chose not to be a drummer, the cymbals and drums cost soooooooooo much.

Huber 07-27-2005 03:02 PM
wow isnt taye like a turkish co. or something but i dont know much aboutzildjian other than sabian and zildjian are brothers
That's kinda true and kind of not true. Sabian has held it's name, while Zildjian is a long family line of cymbals. Istanbul, Turkey, and Zildjian are pretty much the same company.

They are however, the two best quality Turkish cymbals. Hands down.

And no, Taye is an American company. There head quarters is like, 10 minutes from my house, heh.
I am glad I chose not to be a drummer, the cymbals and drums cost soooooooooo much.
I have two guitars and I'm in the market for a bass, heh. Money doesn't matter when you got the passion to jam.

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:05 PM

Do you gig? I have a problematic band, no one is near good as me, not to sound like a god. They suck while I retain much more talent than them. If they were better or I could find someone else, money wouldn't be a problem.

fatbandit 07-27-2005 03:06 PM

A decent drum kit? 1000 pounds? Not sure. My bass rig = 1000 pounds+ and its not as amazing as I want it to be by any means. Drums aren't more expensive once you really get going.

:smash:

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:07 PM

they do cost way more than guitar equipment becuz of cymbals, stands, drums, accesories a proffesional set of drums is like around 2000 or more a pro gtar is like 1400 to 1600

DaveTheAmazing 07-27-2005 03:09 PM

Hello Metallica Fans, I notice this thread is almost at the 1000 pages mark.

Anyway, I've noticed on a lot of other threads and sections on this website, people don't like Metallica. I see a lot of Metallica bashing whenever they come up. Why do these people have a problem with Metallica??

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:10 PM

They think b/c Metallica is so popular, that means they must be overrated and suck.

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:11 PM

most dont hate metallica they jus hav some people that disagree in stuff and fights break out and it was mostly becuz of stubborn ppl

fatbandit 07-27-2005 03:13 PM

Lets look at this a different way...

What is (realistically... Don't go listing huge prices for drumkits you wouldn't want/use) the highest price you think you would be paying for a drumkit?

£2000?

I want...

Custom Bass (from JPBass in the Bass forum... Sweet :) Not overly expensive for what I want on it)

£1200/1400

Roland DB900 Amp (Not a professional amp setup, but as much as I'll probably ever need. I was talking to someone with a £1500 amp today. It would be nice...)

£900

My pedals so far

£150

Wireless Unit (next purchase! woo!)

£200 (not a great one for that price but ah well :p)

Cables

Probably up around £70 for good ones.

I'll not count strings, as you can offset them against buying Drumsticks.

That's probably all I can think of at the moment, though there's doubtlessly more.

Add it up, and you get your £2000 pounds easily...

:smash:

Huber 07-27-2005 03:13 PM

The only thing I've done even close to a gig is Battle of the Bands at my school.

I'm not in that band anymore though. Everyone else in it thought that it couldn't work cuz they sucked so bad, which was completely false.

Oh well, I'm making another band with the vocalist.

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:16 PM

But he meant a starter kit, to add on to the drum thing and replace the parts, that's 3-6000 bucks or pounds to get a decent drum set and maintain it. Comparable to Metallica size, since this is the 'tallica thread.

Britton 07-27-2005 03:16 PM

Awsome!

My band is "The Great Revival"
our album is ready to record!

this doesnt have anything to do with the mighty Metallica
but neither does motly crue or dokken or poison or any other
hair metal band

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:16 PM

fat bandit i use us currency so its different

Britton 07-27-2005 03:17 PM

Wgere are you?

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:17 PM
fat bandit i use us currency so its different
Yea 1600 bucks is roughly 1900- 2000 pounds.

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:18 PM

oh well how much is 2200 bucks in pounds

Britton 07-27-2005 03:18 PM
Yea 1600 bucks is roughly 1900- 2000 pounds.
that's about right

PepsiMetal 07-27-2005 03:19 PM
Yea 1600 bucks is roughly 1900- 2000 pounds.
1600 us dollars is actually like 900-1000 pounds I think.

fatbandit 07-27-2005 03:19 PM

Comparable to Metallica Size? You seen the size of kit Lars uses nowadays? And its personal preference on kit size, not Lars' preference. If I was going for a rig like Trujillo's, it would cost a hella lot more!

Basically, if you're going on US currency, double my figures and take a little off. That should be about right. But my estimation would be for that rig to come out at about... A little under $6000?

:smash:

Britton 07-27-2005 03:19 PM
1600 us dollars is actually like 900-1000 pounds I think.
it is>?

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:19 PM

ya i thought pounds is more value then a us dollar

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:20 PM

I was saying for a comparable size.
