You're absolutely right. I, as an American, can say that the only thing that most people (that I know) voted for President Bush for was the stupid issue of abortion.
What I would like to say to those people, "What the **** is the difference between killing unborn babies and sending soldiers to their deaths for a stupid cause?" It's so god****ed inconsistent! Single issue voters piss me off and should not be allowed to vote, much less breathe all my air. /rant
Hola amigo, no anda muy contento con el asunto Bush??? :amaze: As far as I'm concerned, and for what I've seen, Bush won the election because he had the balls to actually defend a position, as wrong or single minded as it may be, but the fact is that he got the votes from people that think alike, whilst Kerry mainly got the votes from people that just thought Bush shoudn't be president. The thing is that can not afford to run your campaign by just criticizing your opponent, you have to stand for something, and I'm not just talking about tax cuts or how he will manage inflation, etc., but on the big issues, those things that let you have a insight into the candidate personality, such as abortion, whether he thinks it is right to invade a country to uphold democracy, and stuff like that. That was very clear in the abortion issue, on the third debate Kerry said that he wasn't in favour of it, but that he wouldn't legislate against it!! What is that all about?? A president has to be a man with convictions, and Kerry is to in the middle as to stand for anything. Anyway, I'm happy, I fell like I'm seeing a big whale stranded in the shore and instead of going back to the water it's just stuck in the sand, and eventually it'll die. Que viva la revolución!! Que viva Bush aniquilador de las Americas!!!  |
As someone who is at this moment sitting in a lecture with one of the top electoral political scientists in the country, I learned about 3 months ago that this election was Bush's. Why is that? Well, simply by being an incumbent he gains 6% of the vote from lame people who just go with whatever the status quo is. Also, the national electorate has been becoming more conservative over the last 20 years. Elections can be accurately predicted 6 months in advance, and the posturing of the candidates has relatively little to do with it. The fact that despite the economic crash things have been slowly improving means that lots of people are heralding Bush as the economic "savior" of the country. Sad but true.

the thing about Michael Moore is not that he is a liar, but that he tends to not tell the entire truth about some things.
that said, i like Moore, but i know not to take in every single thing that he says as 100% fact. and now that Bush is president again, i see shit in the world's future. |
Nicolas,
Tiene razon, pero lo que he dicho todavia es la verdad. (Mi jefe no esta en el despacho hoy!) :) |

If your sitting in the lecture, shouldn't you be paying attention instead of posting here? :p jk, but the rest of your post is the exact reason why I'm getting fed up with the government here, and I believe a lot of the people here feel the same way. I honestly believe that if things don't change soon, america will probably see another revolution. Maybe it'll be for the better though? |
hey moxy is back

Meh, kinda. I only have a day or so. I'll still post off and on, but it won't be very much. :(

Tryxx, that actually made me laugh. GP for you. ;) This is truly amazing. For the first time in my high school career, I literally have no homework to do. None at all. :amaze: :amaze: :thumb: -Gav |
1 Gav point = 1 bajillion rep points
:thumb: |
Sux that Kerry lost, I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope there isnt gonna be a draft.
|
Yippy!
I have homework...but it's all the way over there...and yet, my bass is right there. We know who the clear victor is in this morale battle. To Funkn: Me and my mom were for Kerry and we're from Texas, I swear people were going to beat us... |
Dude, it won't last. Just wait while next week...
|
Sux that Kerry lost, I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope there isnt gonna be a draft.
You can hide in my basement if there is. :thumb: |
hey how is everyone doing?
|
Did anyone else notice their grades slip since they started playing bass?
|
Hmm... any riots yet? I think Kerry did a good job when he conceded, and it only emphasizes that he is a good man.
|
And I really get the feeling nobody recognises me here ^_^
Not that you should... |
I agree totally Paul.
Im just scared cause there might be a draft and Im 19. If there is Im going to Canada. |
I do. You user title reminds me of my friend's AIM, so I wonder if he is on MX, he is a double bass player himself...
|

Dull, but good. I know what you mean, it was pretty good sportsmanship. He was a good loser. |
