If you like that album, you should check out another group of David Sylvian's - Nine Horses. It's a little more melodic and loungey, it even includes Arve Henriksen on the trumpet who is always incredible. Worth checking out for sure. |
Hadouken! - That Boy, That Girl
Is this actually good? It's getting a lot of hype from places I wouldn't normally trust so I ignored it.

Sonic Youth - Washing Machine Stevie Wonder - Innervisions Versus - Two Cents Plus Tax |
Do you like Washing Machine?
|
kind of. "Diamond Sea" is great of course, and the rest ranges from 'good' to 'bad' to 'might grow on me'. I like "Becuz" but the ending reminds me of "Because the Night" too much.
|
It's one of my favorite Sonic Youth albums. The extended version of The Diamond Sea is even better.
Joanna Newsom - Joanna Newsom and the Ys Street Band yessss |
Bikeride - Morning Macumba
anyone heard this? it's great. |
What did they do to the pitch? What are people correcting about that?
A couple of the songs from the original were altered to a higher pitch, making them noticeably faster than normal. I guess that's the right language. So anyway, the folks who decided to unreverse the album "fixed" those tracks, too. I guess. About to listen to some Battles. Kinks earlier. And this Rosebuds album Night of the Furies which is kinda bad. Eh. |
I think I'm going to keep a reversed copy and a non-reversed, because I like how both sound honestly.
|
I think I might prefer the fix, but that's because I'm a stuffy pop conservative. The reversed isn't really unlistenable or anything though. At least no more unlistenable to all the shitty post-rock some of you guys ply like toilet paper.
|
Some of the songs sound good backwards, but I think some of them would be a lot better the other way.
