I rock at English, but maths is just stupid.

duffroxmysox 01-26-2005 04:10 PM

pshhh english, why the hell analyse a poem, maybe they wanted to say "the tree was blue" and not mean for it to mean "i was feeling desperate and empty inside"

Leg-end

Sgt._Joker 01-27-2005 06:22 AM

hey guys, i saw a post that made me think,
It was "if u were about to die what song would u listen to" (or something along the lines of that)
but then i thought "If i was about to die what song would i like to play last before i died"

i decided i'd go to england and play Her Majesty- The Beatles for the queen

"Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl,
But she doesnt have a lot to say.
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl,
but she changes from say to day.
I wanna tell that her i love her a lot,
but i gotta get a belly full of wine.
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl,
Some day i'm gonna make her mine, oh yeah,
so day i'm gonna make her mine!"

an and at the end i'd run up a kiss the queen on the lips...

Sgt._Joker 01-27-2005 06:23 AM

and maybe stick a bit of tongue in too....

Yerrrrrr......

So im ill, i went to college, stayed there for 10 minutes, and came home.

King_Karl 01-27-2005 09:41 AM

I just got home from college. It was fun :O

Spectrum 01-27-2005 09:52 AM

I'm off to college later. w00t.

Is it a sin that I haven't heard Muse's "Stockholm Syndrome" until just ten minutes ago? Because, well, I just did, and it was five minutes of sheer awesome.

Oh well, guess I'm just in a Muse mood at the moment.

Oh, and Hello, MX Brits.

Untitled 01-27-2005 09:54 AM

I love that song, its a good song to get finger speed up on bass, the interlude is pretty fast, even though there root notes, good for strength, and speed

Spectrum 01-27-2005 09:58 AM

I want to learn the melodic-metal sounding piano arpeggios, being the wanna-be-crazy pianist in the band.

/now listening to "Time is Running Out"

I really love "Hysteria" as well. That bass line is simply awesome, and the guitar work rocks my socks. "Time is Running Out" is quite awesome as well. Ah, I'm just hitting the piano interlude. Ooh, the drumming here is really cool. Band's back in now. Cool song. How did it come to this?

Untitled 01-27-2005 10:00 AM

Muse are an awsome band, i love them. Ive not listend to there album in a while, i might in a while.

There due an new album i think too. Last was out in 03.

Spectrum 01-27-2005 10:08 AM

I got my guitarist friend Sam their "Absolution" disc for Christmas. I didn't realize how cool of a gift that was until I heard more of their songs.

/is listening to Stockholm Syndrome again

Yeah, since the last one was an '03, they should be putting one out sometime this year, you would think. Same with Coldplay and Radiohead - haven't put one out in a little while, and it is around the right time for it. I hear that Coldplay's new one will be out in not too long. They pitched four albums worth of material because they weren't satisfied with it. If you write around 40 songs and then get rid of them all because you don't think they're up to par, that says that the new album could just be fantastic. And I think someone on MX picked up a leak and said that they have an altered sound, but they like it. So I'm expectant.

And I just want to see where the Hell Radiohead will go with the next one.

/privately wishes he had a band capable of playing Muse and Radiohead

/not-so-privately wishes his band would practice once in a while

I think coldplay are overrated, there a good band and all but i cant see what all the hype around them all the time is all about. I dont realy like Radiohead either, i like about 2 songs ive heard.

EDIT, we can play Time is running out, the keyboard bit in the middle can be played on guitar, so my and my guitarest play it.

Spectrum 01-27-2005 10:22 AM

Radiohead's rather strange. However, their sound changes from album to album, which is where a lot of the interest is.

Coldplay gets a lot of buzz because they follow the path that made the Beatles successful - four British blokes with moderate instrumental talent who rely on their keen songwriting abilities. "Shiver" and "Spies" are probably my favorite Coldplay songs. "Shiver" is in 12/8 time, has very nifty chord progressions (owns the sheet music) and requires a lot more guitar talent than most of their songs. "Spies" is a powerhouse of a song, especially when the distorted high-tremolo picking bridge kicks in. They make use of often simple patterns and somehow make them attractive songs.

Ya know what? It's really hard to explain why I like them so much. I just do.

Oh well.

/laughs at self

I was just entertaining silly notions about recording efforts and combining talents with others, but they're just kinda silly. I get delusions of grandeur sometimes.

ninja stealth edit: Out of curiosity, do you know any pianist/keyboardists?

Untitled 01-27-2005 10:25 AM

I know a couple of people who can play who are self taught, and to say there self taught there very good. But noone extreamly brillient. Most people i know play guitar.

Spectrum 01-27-2005 10:27 AM

Figures. A lot of people these days are. And a lot of people these days play guitar instead. Why? 'Cause it's a lot more popular. Those trendy whores.

/hypocracy - goes into basement and plays guitar

IAJP 01-27-2005 10:44 AM

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 01-27-2005 10:45 AM

IAJP 01-27-2005 10:49 AM

Or as some girl I know would say: "Why has that guitar only got 4 strings..did ya snap 'em..?"
