I have the Romanian Angel Appeal CD that George Harrison's wife put together.
It's pretty rare, but not all that great. But Ringo and his All-Star Band have a song on it that's awesome. That's the only song I've heard by him other then that one on Concert for George.

Lately Ive been getting really interested in the Doors and I'd like to know more about them...so if anyone can tell me stuff about them or recommend a website, it would be greatly appreciated.

lunch998 12-31-2004 06:06 PM

I just got Jethro Tull: Live at the Isle of Wight, Electric Ladyland, Wheels of Fire, and the Wall Movie. Wheels and Electric Ladyland are two of those albums I should have bought awhile ago but never did, so I finally decided to.

Reccomended Albums (some left out due to lack of my hearing them): Strange Days, S/t(best, in my opinion), La Women, Morrison Hotel (weakest of the those 4, still a good album). Or you could get one of their 49827266755468257687 greatest hits albums.

Songs- The End, People Are Strange, Roadhouse Blues, People Of The Sun, Riders on The Storm, La Women, Strange days, Light My Fire. Those should get you started.
Strange Days, Morrison Hotel, S/t, La Women, Morrison Hotel. .
That's basically all their studio albums (besides The Soft Parade), isn't it?

BludgeonySteve 12-31-2004 06:30 PM

Yeah. I haven't heard the soft parade. I can't deny good albums ;)

Err, umm. I see your point.

*edits*

edit:
*realises that he put Morrison Hotel on twice*

*edits that out as well*

BludgeonySteve 12-31-2004 11:38 PM

Hehe, this thread died, kinda.

_Ozzy_Osbourne_ 12-31-2004 11:39 PM

It's because I posted in here.

Every thread dies when I do that.

Simple Man 12-31-2004 11:40 PM

Yeah.

meles232 01-01-2005 12:13 AM

whatever, steppen wolf

BludgeonySteve 01-01-2005 12:15 AM

Steppen Wolf is cool. A few great hit songs and general likeableness.

RockAndRoll 01-01-2005 01:21 AM

steppewolf gets a definite thumbs up.
haha alright. so i got a new guitar amp yesterday, its quite lovely.

im just wondering, what year did van halens last album come out? cuz it seemed they havent put out an album in forever, yet they still tour every year riding their old wave of success.
The last album they released was with Gary Cherone in 1998. It wasn't their best and they parted company with Cherone shortly afterwards. After that they didn't tour because Eddie had cancer and various other things stopped them from going. This year the settled their differences with Sammy Hagar and he is now back in the fold. Apparently Alex VH said they were going to return to the studio to work on new material. Fingers crossed everything goes well. :)

Hahahahha. Nice one man. I was at a "family" new years party so I couldn't do drugs, but tonight I will to make up for it :thumb: Especially cause I got Live at Pompeii last night, and watching Saucerful of Secrets made me want to be high so bad. It was such a crazy song, and the camera kept jumpin around everywhere. I know it will be awesome.

Rock not roll, what kind of guitar was it? and definite pxplezkthxhiez

BludgeonySteve 01-01-2005 11:43 AM

To keep on topic: Tom Petty is god :thumb:.

*listened to tom petty, played new guitar and posted on mx for new years :upset:*

Simple Man 01-01-2005 11:45 AM

I like Tom Petty.

jpj 01-01-2005 11:47 AM

I haven't heard much, but would like to.

There are ways to be high at family things, although personally I'd rather not be. It'd be so sweet to go play in pompeii or something like that.

I was a tad bit confused as what that had to do with my post but it is indeed. I love that live disc to death. One time though on a trip back from somewhere we were listening to it in the car and my sister got all pissy and stupid. I hate when people are like that. Once at lunch we were listening to moby dick (off htwww) and some moron said "this sucks, I could play this it's just hitting stuff"

It had nothing to do with your post, I just figured I'd direct it at you since you are a fellow drummer. You probably enjoy/appreciate it more than most others.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 01-01-2005 02:43 PM

what albums does Tom Petty have? I've heard a lot of his songs but dont know any of the names of his albums... I love that riff in the middle of Mary Jane's Last Dance. I noticed that that riff was used in a song by some girl called Joss Stone but I didnt like her song as much

God, being a drummer myself, comments like that really antagonize me.

I downloaded Toad several weeks ago. Great song. I need to get all the Cream albums.

Have anyone listened to Cobwebs and Strange by The Who? Now the drum solos in that are fricken insane, but what do you expect from Moon?

jpj 01-01-2005 02:50 PM

Cobwebs and Strange is one of my favoite Who songs off one of my favorite albums.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 01-01-2005 02:53 PM

I saw a biography on Keith Moon at Barnes & Noble yesterday. I might buy it....did you know he was actually born a year earlier than he told people?

Badmoon 01-01-2005 02:59 PM

Yes, I read that book.
