No problem.
What songs are they? |
as of now :
Megadeath - Symphony CoB - Bed or Razors Derek and the Dominoes - Layla Dream Theater - YTSE Jam TOoL - Vicarious Alice in Chains - We die Young Im a bit of a perfectionist. I got sick of doing straight up exercises for a while, so its a nice break |
Symphony of Destruction I'm guessing.
I learn YTSE jam once, just the last part, really cool. Layla you'll have down in about 15 mins! Not sure about the rest though. Good luck! |

Good luck!
none of them are really TOO challenging, barring the YTSE jam solo that i cant really touch. The layla was good for bending technique practice, which i hadnt worked on too much. Basically, i got the main theme down in 10 minutes. The rest is just memorization. I kinda like learning a bunch at once. It seems the more i do this, the faster i can retain the information, and the quicker i can actually memorize it. I've kinda toned done the challenging shizz for the most part. I need to start working on rhythm hardcore, so im kinda going that route for a little while |
hey DuCran, is this the tab you were talking about
http://mxtabs.net/tab_versions.php?path=Guitar,c,5233,Children+Of+Bodom,Bed+Of+Razors,46473 does he really slide to the 7th, as opposed to just playing the 12th fret on the next string  |
I doubt that, I looked past that to the end section which is all up at the 19th fret area.
Parts of that sol look unrealistic, I'll re-position a powertab later to how I will learn it and then upload it. |
Holy jesus, you guys took my perfection post wayyyyyyyy too serious, haha.
To be able to play Silent Night, Bodom night perfectly all the way through as good as the album version...
I said the intro.
thats basically what im saying bro. I dont think a single person in this thread thinks hes better than you. Even though I havent listened to many of your recordings, its obvious that you are better in the way you conduct yourself alone.
I may be egotistical, but with things like that i'm just joking. Haha, scroll up and down page 933. It's a Hitler fest. |
nice nice...
im taking it slow. I have a problem with trying to get it up to speed right away, and i notice little mistakes. Im trying to distance myself from that habbit |
Holy jesus, you guys took my perfection post wayyyyyyyy too serious, haha.
Only because I wanted to hear it. I do enjoy listening to peoples covers of CoB songs and then laughing because they haven't taken the time to get it sounding good before recording it. Obviously, if someone mentions being able to play it perfectly I'd look forward to it.
Bananas
I'm guessing you have powertab?? If not, I can do Guitar Pro. |
17k postsssssss \m/
I promise i'll record the intro riff for you Mitch. |
17k postsssssss \m/
I promise i'll record the intro riff for you Mitch.
Sounds good. :thumb:
i have both, at home.
I did this quickly. Most of the positions are how I'd play it. I can't be bothered to practise it now 'cause I'm freaking tired. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=384A280571DA0C14 |
fair enough...
i cant even look at a guitar for another 2 hours  |
Where do you work?
|
its for an insurance company. Im actually going back to school (uni) to teach music...
either at a school, or guitar. Hopefully ill be out of this bitch ASAP, but until then, ill be MX'ing my arse off  |
Yeah I noticed you post alot at work, must be an easy job.
Good luck with the teaching, I was thinking of doing that too at one point. I actually have no idea what I want to do with my life, except for play live gigs, which doesn't really pay great unless you're big and the chances of getting big are pretty slim. Other than that, it's teaching as I said, but I'm not sure when to start, I still don't think I'm ready. There's nothing else I want to do. |
well, it was either do music, or make money programming. I really wouldnt enjoy the latter, and would just be doing it for the money. I realized that rationale is rather fukked up, and decided to go with my passion.
As far as my work goes, i basically just multi-task my arse off so as not to be bored with the repetitive nature of it |
I'm not sure what you mean by programming, but I considered music tech as an option for money. There's a guy at the stuidio we play at for college and it's a REALLY bad studio, it's not even funny. But this guy is 18, and he has been asked to be the engineer in a quarter-of-a-million pound studio. He would be rich in a year, he already has a decent car that must have cost him a bit, plus insurance and all that other car related nonsense.
It kinda makes me sick to hear stuff like that, I have to worry about not spending too much on a Cd or whatever so I can buy food to keep me alive. When I finishe college I'll have to get a job to pay my mum for some benifits crap, and decide what to do. Trying to earn a living by being a musician alone is fukking hard. |
totally agree man.
I meant programming, as in the people who write the "code" for either websites, databases, mainframes, etc. Basically, its learning computer languages to get the computer to do complex tasks. I did it for 5 years. I dont want to do it any more  My only reason for keeping that option alive for so long was for the money alone. I've realized, I would rather be poor and enjoy my life's work, than to have money doing something I don't fully enjoy. If that means ill be poor for the rest of my life, its a small price to pay for happiness |
Oh that programming. The most advanced stuff I know is:
size = 5 [b ] [/b ] etc lawl. I think with your constant talk about maintaining accuracy, and aiming for that during practise as opposed to speed would make you a great teacher. I'd also do that too but you seem to know how to explain it much better. My words would just be the same old crap that everyone on message boards say. Start slow, keep it clean, get faster etc, I'd prefer to demonstrate. But yeah, if you get the chance, you should definately try it at least. |
