The Pastels - Imagery
Dinosaur Jr. - Beyond

Dino is actually, pretty good.

pulseczar 04-04-2007 07:07 PM

Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus
Jorge Ben - Africa Brasil

ATM 04-04-2007 07:25 PM

I approve of those two. I just nabbed the new NIN, can't wait to hear it.

talk show host 04-04-2007 07:27 PM

ATM 04-04-2007 07:47 PM

Tom Waits
Panda Bear
Yo La Tengo

Robert Crumb 04-04-2007 08:30 PM

Finally listening to Neon Bible lol. Maybe if all their songs were about cars I'd like them more. And then some Nick Lowe.
what exactly are you referring to
their tendency to have albums with lotsa filler.

br3ad_man 04-04-2007 09:38 PM

Off Minor/My Disco split

Zebra 04-04-2007 09:50 PM

Apocalyptic Raids 04-04-2007 09:58 PM

Little Man being Erased 04-04-2007 11:23 PM

Silverchair - Young Modern

I actually enjoyed this, despite the bashing they've been copping. Honestly, who couldn't see this being the obvious progression from Diorama?

Nope.
GBV always kick a disproportionate amount of ass.
but ... so does Sonic Youth too.

bleep_bloop 04-05-2007 02:06 AM

Elliott Smith - Great American Music Hall
ive been listening to this lots lately, its really good imho.

Piglet19 04-05-2007 03:51 AM

Been listening to a lot of new stuff this week but one band that have caught my attention is Ben's Brother (www.myspace.com/bensbrothermusic)

The lead singer has such a unique voice, could almost compare it to a young Rod Stewart and he's already written for the likes of James Morrison, Will Young, Joss Stone and Emma Bunton.

What's it like?

Little Man being Erased 04-05-2007 06:24 AM

It's kind of more pop oriented. I don't really know how to explain it, but basically Daniel Johns is a pretty great songwriter so it usually turns out good. I'm not saying it's amazing, but it has enough enjoyable moments to make me want to listen to it again.

I could send it for the mailing list or just to you if you want.

ATM 04-05-2007 06:29 AM

That would be great, whatever is easier for you.

Here's my email address:

Little Man being Erased 04-05-2007 06:33 AM

I'll do both. Too easy brother.

samthebassman 04-05-2007 06:49 AM

New Silverchair album is quite epic, unlike anything else you would normally hear, it is worth a listen.

Zebra 04-05-2007 08:58 AM

Melvins - Houdini

How does their other stuff compare to this?

ATM 04-05-2007 09:01 AM

I honestly love the band. I haven't been dissapointed by any of their releases.

Zebra 04-05-2007 09:04 AM

I'm looking into getting Gluey Porch Treatments or Ozma. Which one do you prefer?

Zmev 04-05-2007 12:46 PM

Get Gluey Porch Treatments, then Stoner Witch.

Neoteric 04-05-2007 12:51 PM

Their releases seem to be divided up into two categories. A metal category and an experimental category.

Zmev 04-05-2007 02:21 PM

Alkaline Trio - Alkaline Trio

I just do not like this band.

Neoteric 04-05-2007 02:26 PM

I've been listening to Daydream Nation again.

It rules so much.

You're still listening to it.

Bukowski 04-05-2007 03:25 PM
Oh, I missed this. What did you listen to/think?
My favorite out of what I grabbed was the Floyds. Very cool stuff. I still need to listen to more of the Marvelous 3.

I'm digging Nick Drake, Channels and the Melvins, today.

Zmev 04-05-2007 03:31 PM
