1. Very repetitive.
2. Simple strong structures.
3. Medicore musicianship.
4. Awful vocals.
5. Very one dimensional. (blast beats, trem-picked riffs)
6. Laughable lyrics (RAWRAWR SATAN)

Just about anything is better than Watain, but honestly we have been over VON and it should be pretty damn obvious why someone would dislike them, I am just curious to see why someone does, just for the opposing side of things.

you realize you just described a large portion of the black metal out there.

von is good for the entrancing atmosphere, the songs are all simple and catchy, decent degree of variation between the songs. their formula works perfectly, it is something I can listen to over and over. great sounding production, acidic and evil guitar tone, driving and pounding drums and commanding vocals. the music never gets boring as it just keeps going and going, riff after riff. this makes VON great.

I said provide proof why they're a good band, not why I'm wrong. Yeah a lot of black metal is repetitive and a lot of black metal have simple song structures. Let's use Darkthrone as an example: their riffs and vocals are actually interesting and good (that's objective, but whatever) which makes their simple song structures and repetitiveness work. VON on the other hand write boring riffs which makes all of their songs just boring as hell.

My problem with them is unlike black metal that is those things they have:

1. No atmosphere in their music, it's just heavy.
2. Their riffs are uninteresting as where some good black metal bands can repeat them because their riffs are good, see Transylvanian Hunger.
3. Music is just boring, nothing but heavy and since it lacks any atmosphere or good riffs it becomes droning and tiresome hence where the samey structure comes into play to kill the music.
4. Vocals are boring monotonous growls that sound more like belching than real harsh vocals.

I hope that provides enough of my opinion for you, now it's your turn.

And for the record, VON's music, albeit simple and at times boring, is great BM. The vocals, however, are far from commanding to say the least.
