He is incredibly overrated. He is NOT underground; NIRVANA is not Underground.

Cobain's guitar is ugly. You should not want to **** it.

His guitar playing was NOT better than Joe Satriani's (I got this once from a girl who was a "omgwtf Nirvana fan"; to be fair, she doesn't know who Satriani is).

Cobain was an important figure in alt. music. Whether or not you like Nirvana, you have to admit they had some well written and catchy songs. Their lack of techinical ability does not mean anything. ill go for a topic change now.... so i bought a foo fighters album long, long ago and am just now getting into them. the bass work isnt anything too flamboyant, but its so solid. and just musically, its all very well done.

Oh I never said HE sucked; I said his guitar playing is not the BEST; I agree he's an important figure in alt. music; some of their songs are catchy, but I can't say I listen to them exclusively.

My main point is that he should not be called a "OMGWTF GOD".

Calling him an important figure is fine; just like calling Hendrix an important figure in Rock music is fine; however, it's not right to call Hendrix the "best guitarist evar". You know?
