Yo Sk8Ska, do you read Weird NJ?

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 05:00 PM

i read some of that, i want to go check some of it out sometime.

cbmartinez 10-02-2004 05:18 PM

Awesome man. I went to this abandoned mental asylum today called The Skillman Institute in Princeton with my friends. Out of 30+ buildings, we went in about 8. First we went to the gymnasium, but we couldn't get in. We then went to like the visitors center place, and when we looked in the window, there were typewriters and office files just sitting there. Everyone just up and left. The place was abandoned in 1998. We then saw personnel housing, which was nuts. We saw their beds and stuff. Then we went to like this patient housing kinda place where we saw this old kitchen and then we descended into the bomb shelter. I was scared shitless. Then we go in this scary ass patient ward with these curtains and shit all over the place. Then these thick double doors that went into the basement. I didn't feel like going down there. So we went to the 4 sotry school house and dared my friend to go in alone with the video camera and flashlight and stick his head out the attic window. If he did it, he got $15.00. Well, the attic was unreachable but he stayed in there for about a half hour. We then go to this freaky as hell abandoned house with boarded windows and shit, and then the final place. The main hospital. By now I was shaken. So we cross this creek and go around fornt. Now in the basement, there's supposedly a morgue and crematorium, but did not find them. The first thing we saw when we went in was graffiti saying thinks like, "Help" and "The Gift Of Pestilence." We see some rooms and shit and then get the fuck out of there. It was a fun, but frightening day. I cannot imagine how people go there at night.

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 05:33 PM

my friends and i were going to go to this abandoned mental hospital here back in the spring, but the day before we we're going to go, this 1 kid going got caught by a cop in there. they just took him home, but if we went and he got caught again, he would be screwed. i'm going to go back sometime. i looked at some websites that have pictures and stuff and it looks pretty freaky. supposedly satanic cults do some crazy stuff in there. there was a picture of a dead chicken hung from the ceiling and a dead deer in a hallway with a mask on it. the state shut it down 15 years ago because of how the patients were treated. it has a bunch of underground tunnels linking all the buildings.

cbmartinez 10-02-2004 05:44 PM

Same with Skillman. It started as just an epilepsy treatment place, but soon sick and violent people were thrown in there. Patients often killed themselves, other patients and caretakers, and many of the guards supposedly raped the patients. The people in Weird NJ who went there said that they found nurse's gowns with blood on them, EKG machines, wheelchairs, files and other stuff. The guy who went to the morgue said the drawers were open and that there were candles all over the place. Oh yeah, I forgot the freakiest part of the story. When we were behind the hospital, we found a fucking skeleton. At first every spazzs and says it's human, but it was just a deer. It was still scary and it could have been a victim of cult activity, as Satanism rampant in NJ.

I remember reading about the Jersey Devil like 8 years ago.

AndHagan3 10-02-2004 06:20 PM

Oh man, I used to be so into Cyptozoology. I ever wrote a huge article on the Jersey Devil. That was one b'itching monster.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-02-2004 06:28 PM

Jersey rules. Besides like south jersey and all the poluteted parts.

AndHagan3 10-02-2004 06:30 PM

New Jersey has the highest population per square mile of any state. Its amazing how much useless information you come across.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-02-2004 06:30 PM

We are also home to the richiest county in the world. And it's my county!

punkgrungerocker 10-02-2004 06:31 PM
Grindcore in its purest form consisted of short, apocalyptic blasts of noise played on standard heavy metal instrumentation (distorted guitar, bass, drums). Although grindcore wasn't just randomly improvised, it certainly didn't follow conventional structure, either; while riffs could sometimes be picked out, pure grindcore never featured verses, choruses, or even melodies. Grindcore vocals sounded torturous, ranging from high-pitched shrieks to low, throat-shredding growls and barks; although the lyrics were usually quite verbose, they were very rarely intelligible. Some bands in this catagory can also be known as Mathcore. Meaning they're more complex in the musical writings.

Grindcore bands:
Napalm Death, Dillinger Escape Plan, Death, Carcass, The Locust, The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza
youre forgetting one of the best grindcore bands today...DAUGHTERS!!! their cd is 11 songs, and its just over 11 min...so so goood...also circle takes the square, but they have really long songs, and dual male/female vocals.....so crazy, only three people in the band, but it sounds like 5 or 6 they aren't true grindcore, but they would be melodic grindcore if such a thing ever came to be...

listerine ice cream 10-02-2004 06:33 PM

I'd want to move to NJ for all the ghosts, hauntings, and monster stuff.

CTTS is a screamo band with grinf influence.

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 06:39 PM

daughters are horrible, i can't stand listening to them.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-02-2004 06:41 PM

Hahah. I'm not the biggest fan of grind ether. I only listen to it for like a couple minutes at a time.

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 06:42 PM

i actually like some grind. i like what i've heard from pig destroyer and agoraphobic nosebleed.
I'd want to move to NJ for all the ghosts, hauntings, and monster stuff.
Yeah, Weird NJ is amazing. It tells you all the haunted and abandoned shit all over NJ. I wanna' got to Clinton Road, supposedly a very active satanist gathering location and there's a bridge that if you throw a quarter off of, this ghost of a boy will either throw it at your car or come up and give it back to you. Also, I want to go to the Marlboro Slaughterhouse, it looks so scary. They supposedly found one of guards with his head replaced by a pigs head when the farmer that the land was stole from went insane and killed people. But there's all this graffiti and rooms with drains in the middle where the blood from the animals used to drain.

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 07:20 PM

do you know if the book is any good? i saw it in barnes and noble before.

cbmartinez 10-02-2004 07:24 PM

Eh, if you have all the issues (like me), don't bother buying it. Because it basically is just a summary of all the significant stuff they done so far in the magazine. I have it but it's really not that necessary like I said. My dad got Weird US today, a book with weird stuff from across America or something. I'm afraid Weird US might ruin Weird NJ though...

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 07:27 PM

i might subscribe to it. most of the stuff seems to be in north jersey. the only place i recognized so far was lambertville.

Hardcore/Metalcore/Haunted places in New Jersey Education

I'm thinking I want to subscribe to Weird US, now that you mention it. I forgot all about this haunted/ghosts/monster stuff, I love it so much. I've been reading at weirdnj.com, seems pretty interesting over there.

What was the attraction in Lambertville?

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 07:39 PM

there's 2 of them. boner bar and the lambertville church. i've never heard of them, but i've been in lambertville a lot.

Oh yeah. The Boner Bar is gay. I don't like that stuff. I like the urban legend scary stuff. Is the church haunted?

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 07:44 PM

i meant lambertville school, not church. they only have the school in the pictures part of the "only go there at night" section. what's with the boner bar though, i couldn't find a story on that either.

cbmartinez 10-02-2004 07:50 PM

They have the penis bones of all kinds of different animals...

I think I know what your talking about with the school. Some kid supposedly haunts it who died in a football game when he got his head twisted full around.

NewKindofArmy03 10-02-2004 07:52 PM

http://www.weirdus.com/stories/PA01.asp cool, this is the hospital i was talking about that i wanted to go to. it's like 3 miles from my house. we should stop spamming this thread now.

I remember that article. That place looks fucking intense as hell. Now that's hardcore/metalcore. At the place I went to, there was a story in Weird NJ about some people who got chased out of there by a guy with an axe.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-02-2004 08:01 PM

One of the WNJ locations is right were the venue "The Palace" used to be.
