i demand that each and every one of you download the microphones' album, "the glow pt. 2" at this instant. it is amazing.
|
I have it. I like it.
|
I've had "Real Life," which I love, for a few weeks. Got "The Correct Use of Soap" yesterday, and I like it even better.
Thanks WRM.
He made me download "Real Life" off him a couple weeks ago. I only listened to it once, I need to give it a few more listens before I can give an opinion on them. Today I've been listening to a lot of Coheed, Sunny Day Real Estate and Death Cab. |

Thanks for reminding me of this, by the way. Somehow I mange to forget how pretty this music is quite often. |
Looks like fun to me.
|
I'm enjoying Blue Screen Life by Pinback, I'll finish the review by tomorrow.
I haven't heard most of the bands on Nacho's list. I think I should listen to them. |
Guided By ****ing Voices
I heard Bee Thousand and I didn't like it much at first. Then it grew on me and became my favorite album of all time. Then I heard six more of their albums and they became my favorite band of all time. If you like indie rock music at all, you need some of their stuff in your collection.
fuck yes. Currently digging today: Love - Forever Changes The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle U2 - Joshua Tree |
Currently spinning over here is:
_______________________________________ Surfer Rosa - The Pixies : Definitly either the best or one of the best albums ever made. I can listin to all the songs on this album over and over and over again. Went to see them in November, best experience of my life. Some songs to check out by the pixies : Bone Machine, Debaser, No. 13 Baby, La La Love you, and I bleed _______________________________________ Uh Huh Her - PJ Harvey : This is definitly one of the biggest competitors for best album ever. The first day I bought this CD I listined to it about 20 times. I really love PJ, and this album was no hinderance to my love. Definitly check it out. Some songs by PJ to check out : Life And Death Of Mr.Badmouth, Yuri-G, Big exit, and It's You. _______________________________________ Cheers, Andrew xx |
I'm eating Jell-o and listening to Harry Nilsson's Moonbeam Song on repeat.
|
Big Star
The Stooges Miles Davis' Jazz At The Plaza |
Listened to Odelay last night before falling asleep in bed. It's still pretty cool, but there are certain moments of "anti-music" that make it really irritating to listen to. Like, some tracks start off with distorted screaming, or end with loud, obnoxious beeping. But I guess that's what makes it so great.
|
Odelay is pointless in a world that has Paul's Boutique.
|
I've been digging The Cure, Lior, and these cheesey crackers.
|
I just watched a documentary about Shane MacGowan, so I'm Pogue-ing it up right now.
|
Tomahawk, do you dig Lior? He's on the j's quite an amount.
|
If it's on JJJ a lot then I'm sure I've heard it, but that name isn't too familiar... what song is gettin airplay?
|
"This Old Love". It is soft and strange and beauty filled. It has acoustic and cello.
|
Oh that song! That's the "we'll grow old together" song, right? I like that song! I've been wanting to know who sings it. I thought it was a bit cheesy at first, but yeah it's really nice.
|
www.lior.com.au is ze place to download that track and another song of his which is also very good. It definately grew on me too, and the strings came in and, well, i'm a sucker for strings.

O.K,
recentley, I've been mostly listening to: "Stop Making Sense" a live album by the talking heads, highlights include: "Pshcyo Killer, Life During War Time,Slippery People" I only just sort of realised what an amzing band the talking heads were, my dad allways used to listen to them, I used to get annoyed cause the music didn't sound good. But I borrowed a greatest hits off him about three months ago and it hasn't stopped spinning, it's a truly great album, and the live one is awesome too. David Byrne is a wayward genious. "The Essential Bob Dylan-Bob Dylan" A greatest hits, spanning his whole great carreer, from "Blowin' in the wind" to "Things have changed" it's all gold, what else can be said about Bob Dylan other than "Legend". My favourite tracks are "Can you please crawl out your window?" "Subteranean Homesick Blues" "Rainy Day women #12 & 35" and finally the epic "Hurricane" a legend and a classic colelction. "Radiohead-Pablo Honey" an interesting alternative album, what first attracted me is the obvious hit "Creep" but within this album there are some true gems, such as "You" "Anyone can play guitar" and the amazing "Vegetable", sure, you can call Radiohead deppressed middle age men, but i think this album is amazing, there are better Radiohead albums out there (The Bends, O.K computer etc.) but this is a great place to start. |

Is that the If I Should Fall From Grace With God DVD, or something else entirely? |
It was called "If I Should Fall From Grace - The Shane MacGowan Story", but it wasn't a DVD, it was just on regular television.
It was basically just interviews with Shane and his family and band members and Nick Cave. Pretty interesting though, he's an amazing dude with an amazing liver. |
i've been listening to boards of canada a lot lately. everything by them. but mostly "music has the right to children," because, well, it's just amazing.
|
i've been listening to suicide machines, streetlight manifesto & catch 22. ska is definetly one of my favorite genres of music now.
|

I think it's available on DVD, which is good, because the chances of my seeing it on TV are miniscule :( I'd recommend reading A Drink With Shane MacGowan, if you can, it's very good. |
Odelay is pointless in a world that has Paul's Boutique.
in a world that compares the two albums there is no need for both, since people will make unneeded comments like that. |
I do a lot of smoking, and I kinda like music, so I amalgamated the 2.
Fun game, Guess what happened next? |
You called the stereo a faggot.
|
No.
|
Loozer.
|
you pissed on the stereo.
|
No. I listened to Exile On Main St. It just seemed appropriate.
|
I've been listening to Elliott Smith, and The Shins quite a bit today.
|
Hey, you're new and you used two "t's".
*gives rep* |
how does this reputation thing work, i'm so confused...
|
The little squre with the check marke and the x in the left corner of every post allows you to either positively or negatively repute any member based on a particular post. Based on how much reputation you yourself have, the user "repped" will gain or lose different amounts on their total.

Red Eyed Legends
Helmet Also, Rolling Stones' Exile On Main St. has just finished playing for the 3rd time today. I think I've nearly grasped it's greatness. |
Today I have been mostly listening to various things from this year, in preperation for a list of 2004's best album I'm going to make. Right now - Keane. Fun times.
|
Keane are horrible.
|
The New Pornographers!
I got this album (Mass Romantic) a few months ago, and never gave it a listen. Now that I have, I wish I would have earlier. Pure indie pop bliss. |
