Girl-Playing-Bass 06-01-2004 03:31 AM
Haha, did you send that abusive email, Karen? Told you it would work. :p

Anyhow, wb.

Been listening to a lot of old school heavey metal such as Priest & Sabbath (no surprise there! :p), Twisted Sister, Accept, WASP, etc etc. Man, i think when Heavy Metal is done properly, it beats all other genres hands down! \m/
Haha no actually I didn't!

anyhoo only 2 weeks to Arrow rock Festival (JUDAS FUCKING PRIEST!!!)

Kreator 06-01-2004 05:10 AM

Go to Metal Mayhem, I do believe they have that Hoodie up....well, they did last time I was there.

LordDargon 06-01-2004 07:09 AM
Well, I'm finally getting off of my lazy *** and starting a band.. I've raised the siren around town to start a Slayer/Kreator cover band (for starting out anyway).

Songs to do:
Chemical Warfare
Necrophiliac
Die By The Sword
The Antichrist
Hell Awaits
At Dawn They Sleep
Angel of Death
Raining Blood
Criminally Insane
Black Magic
-
Extreme Aggressions
Some Pain Will Last
Mental Slavery
Phobia
Command of the Blade
I can help you with your Kreator list... ( :p )

Pleasure to Kill
Under the Guillotine
Coma of Souls
When the sun burns red
Terror Zone
Endless Pain
Awakening of the Gods (thrashterpeice!)

Destruct 06-01-2004 07:11 AM

I was wondering if I could join the clan :upset:

I think I would make my tags (KEA) if they're not already taken.

This of course stands for Kill 'Em All, which is, in my opinion, a quintessential thrash album. :)

LordDargon 06-01-2004 07:19 AM

don't be ashamed, we're all thrashers together :)

Check the first page for rules. I made some up since I'm the oldest member :p

KEA has a great, unique feel. METAL MILITIA! \m/

JMetallica 06-01-2004 07:27 AM

Awesome, pleasure to kill hoodie... :D

That picture is probably the greatest metal picture of all time. I really want the t-shirt of PtK

NP: Helloween - Halloween \m/

Destruct 06-01-2004 07:32 AM

Yeah I read the rules, and listened to the song.

Is giving a personal opinion on the song part of the joining process? If so I'll give you mine ahead of time.

I'm a pretty honest guy, I'm not going to BS you, I think the song was "ok".

Not great, not awesome, not bad, not poor, just "ok". "Ok" like.. I like it, and I could listen to it and enjoy it, but it's not 100% me.

Anyways, I hope this doesn't offend you, and I'd love to join the Titans of Thrash.

manuscriptreplica 06-01-2004 07:48 AM

Don't tell Dargon you don't like Dark Angel, he will kill you.

But what song did you listen to? If you didn't hear Perish in Flames, do so. It's the best track on the album.

And I listened to Ram it Down again, I like the solo now. Not as much as Nosferatu and Hit the Lights though.

Destruct - Just join. We aren't going to kill you. You can use my Triumph avatar if you wish, it's the new undisputed official Titans of Thrash avatar. (In my eyes, anyway)

Not saying that I don't like Dark Angel, I said that song he said to download is ok.

I'll get more later, and if I really like them, I'll try to purchase an album. :)

LordDargon 06-01-2004 07:52 AM

What, you heard that 1:30 sample? Yeah well guess what, that's just the totally awesome and kick-as.s intro to the song. The real skull-powderization kicks in right after the intro. I once banged my head so much it broke off and rolled into the corner.

Destruct 06-01-2004 07:56 AM

That's actually kind of funny, reminds me of a story.

One time in highschool, we were sitting around in class on a free day, thrashing about to the loudest **** imagineable, and there was this girl who was trying to show off her hair, so she starts banging her head about, and she slams it into a desk and falls over. She was bleeding and paramedics came and stuff, and she never came back to school.

I know it was probably embaressing to her, but we thought it was the funniest thing ever, simply because she was a real bitch. Later we thought it was pretty cool.

manuscriptreplica 06-01-2004 07:58 AM

what song is it?

EDIT: to Dargos

Kreator 06-01-2004 10:49 AM

darkness descends me thinks

Hey man, thanks for the help, but I own just about every one of their albums.. I'm wanting to do more Slayer as we are all more into Slayer.. im really the only one who loves Kreator, plus as a beginning cover band, I can't put too much upon us. Plus, the drummer is a newbie to drumming, so I can't do anything much too hard.

LordDargon 06-01-2004 12:59 PM

Yah I figured that it was something to do with the diffuculty levels of the songs... but try and get AotG in there, I love it :D

And yeah, Slayer = 2nd greatest band in existence.

Griffin_Page 06-01-2004 09:25 PM

Well, I'm also teaching my bassist how to play guitar, and teaching a friend how to play bass. I'm teaching them all, but that's alright, I can mold them to become my weapons in delivering my thrash upon this world. The guitarist and bassist to be like some pretty ****ty music too, but the guy becoming the bassist likes a lot of good stuff too. Thrash, Black, Death, and Power metal are his favorites, but they both like way too much metalcore and nu-metal for my tastes. Whatever, as long as they play thrash in my band, I will be happy. The drummer guy is cool and just wants to rock out, and I've been getting him into thrash.

Griffin_Page 06-01-2004 09:26 PM

Oh yeah, I just reviewed Haunting the Chapel, check it out. Also, in the Guitar Lessons, I bumped up my simple yet effective little thrash lessons.. haven't read them in a while, I dont remember just how basic they may be.

Destruct 06-01-2004 09:56 PM

I got into it with my girlfriend tonight, and started digging **** up, because I was going to "leave", and I found Kill 'Em All bootlegs, ****in Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning tapes, I found all sorts of awesome ****.

She begged me not to go anywhere, and naturally I didn't.

I hate fighting, but if this is what it takes to find more of my old stuff, I should do it more often.

Also found an SoD tape. Awesome.

LordDargon 06-02-2004 06:19 AM

hahahahahahahahahahaha, that's classic, finding all your old tapes

"SHUT UP YOU BITCH" ooh, a KEA tape!

Haha! You didn't have Bonded By Blood cranked, did you? :p

Hehe, that'll teach non metal people to thrash.

Download Dark Angel - We have arrived... you may like that better. It's more in the traditional thrash mould.

LordDargon 06-02-2004 07:13 AM

WHA and DD both kick as.s, WHA is kind of like early slayer. But yeah whatever, get them both. And for technical thrash, "Time Does not Heal" is supposed to be really good.

manuscriptreplica 06-02-2004 07:57 AM

There's blood up on the *desk*, bang your head against the *desk*

Griffin_Page 06-02-2004 10:15 PM

Haha, that's a great story. Nothing like that happens around here tho.. I'm getting my drummer friend into thrash, but other than that not many other people around here even know it exists. I've got a couple other friends who like it, but they prefer power, newer black metal and stuff, which isn't bad, but they also dig the nu-metal. Crappy.

LordDargon 06-03-2004 08:03 AM

^ Yeah, it's weird. On the forums, every single god-da.mned person knows and loves Slayer. In real life (around here) people have no idea whatsoever what it is. I pity them immensely. Subhumans.

Toozey 06-03-2004 09:35 AM

Why dont you introduce it to them varg?

ThrashMaster27 06-03-2004 09:42 AM

A fair few people know Slayer in my music group, which is nice.

Griffin_Page 06-03-2004 10:55 AM

I don't mind what they like the most, stuff like Children of Bodom, Kalmah, Cradle of Filth, etc... in fact, I really like some of that stuff. But, I supposed I'm destined to be a loner when it comes to thrash around here.

LordDargon 06-03-2004 12:00 PM

Toozey: I tried, but they all called me a satan worshipper and ran off intul I turned it off. No, really, they did.

superpeer 06-03-2004 03:10 PM

Griffin, if you read this before sting-ray arrives, delete your post in the dream band thread. Or you'll be banned again.
Toozey: I tried, but they all called me a satan worshipper and ran off intul I turned it off. No, really, they did.
That doesn't really surprise me.

manuscriptreplica 06-03-2004 06:37 PM

You gotta show em Metallica first if you want to introduce them to heavier stuff. They are a perfect gateway. Then BOOM chuck some Dying Fetus on. Hehehe.
Griffin, if you read this before sting-ray arrives, delete your post in the dream band thread. Or you'll be banned again.
Have you noticed there are like 3 people with avatars in that thread?

To save me from banning, I will post mine here.

Vocals - Tom Araya
Lead - Tommy Baron
Rhythm - Mille Petrozza
Bass - Guy from Dark Angel
Drums - Charlie Benante

Griffin_Page 06-03-2004 09:45 PM

Thanks for the warning Peer. I'm too nice at school for people to think im real evil.. they know i love the occult and crap, but i still hang out with everybody and flirt with the girls.. small towns kick ***.

LordDargon 06-04-2004 04:34 AM

Vio-lence's "Oppressing the Masses" is excellent thrash with sh.itloads of riffs and good drumming and good solos. Get it now!

(be warned, the vocals are like megadeth, but more so.)

manuscriptreplica 06-04-2004 04:55 AM

Rust in Peace is the best Thrash album ever.

DisposableHeroes 06-04-2004 05:05 AM
Rust in Peace is the best Thrash album ever.
I ordered that a few days ago off amazon, is the whole album good or are there a few tracks i should skip?

madthumbs 06-04-2004 05:28 AM

whatdoyou guys think fo the new megadeth album's title "The System Has Failed"?

LordDargon 06-04-2004 05:34 AM

Heroes: I find myself skipping Lucretia and Dawn Patrol.

Thumbz: is that gonna be it? Sounds good, sounds like we get more political rant :thumb:
