I'd say Destroy Erase Improve is the best album. You can get it from me on IM. Viking Vs Pirate.

What Quo Vadis album should I get first?
|
Day Into Night is probably their best, check that one out. Great album.

It is great, but their new album is great as well. Well it is really great if you love great bass work done by the almighty Steve DiGiorgio...but Day Into Night is a very good album too, just doesn't have as cool bass work. |
I still really need to get their new album. SIlence Calls the Storm was the first song I heard by them, ages ago when someone posted a demo/pre-production version in the death heads thread, and it blew me away. What's the new one called?
|
Hey guys, I just heard my first Rush song today: YYZ (live) with drumsolo and I like it a lot. The bassline is great.
What's a good Rush album for me to buy/download to get introduced to them? |
Moving Pictures is definately a good album to get you into them. It is also the album with YYZ on it :)
|
Buy 2112 first. It's a classic.
|
What Iced Earth album should i get?
I bought the 3 CD 'Alive in Athens' (for £13.99 :D ) which really got me into the band. Now I'm looking to buy their studio albums. |
I really like Night of the Stormrider and Something wicked this way comes. But whatever you do dont get the last one, the Reckoning I think its called. Its not as good as there old work. May I also sugest Demons and Wizerds first album, its a collaboration between the guitarist of Iced earth and the singer form Blind Guardian.

I need to get a Dream Theater cd. I like what I've heard, and I will be seeing them when they come to Florida for Gigantour. I'm having a tough time deciding what album of theirs to get. I'm deciding between Train of Thought, 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Images and Words, and Scenes from a Memory.
What should I get? |
I would say Scenes From a memory as it's the album which best show cases all of Dream Theater's elements.
|
I'd say get Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulance...it has some of the best guitar work i've ever heard.
I am looking to get a Sonata Arctica album...i'm not sure which i should get. Any suggestions? |
Alright, I'm already down to two Dream Theater albums. Scenes from a Memory and Train of Thought. I'll probably order one tomorrow, so I need to pick which one to get.
ANy more advice would be appreciated. |

Recommendation needed: Best Nile album por favor.
|
Recommendation needed - most accessible / least seedy / least f'u'cking wierd Tool album.
i've got them all par Salival, just need to listen to a whole album which takes approximatly 3 weeks as that is the average album / song length of Tool stuff. |

ANy more advice would be appreciated.
Train of Thought is the heaviest Dream Theater album and alot of the solo work is very shred based. So if you really like heavy, shreddy music then get it. Scenes From A memory is alot more varied. It has the heavy moments and the shred moments, but also mellow and emotional moments. It gives a better idea of Dream Theater as a whole, I think, instead of just giving an image of one of their elements. |
