Megadeth is one of the best bands ever
|
Rust in Peace is in my top 3 albums of all time. Tornado of Souls and Hanger 18 are my favorite tracks. Got to love those solos.
Rust In Peace is definitly awesome. I've been liking Take No Prisoners more lately. |
IMO, Five Magics is the sprinkel on the Ice Cream. The whole wierd-*** rhytms and texture changes makes it jut abit more awesome than the rest of the album :)
Absolutely agreed |
Never seen SKOM, I wanted to rent it but I couldn't find it, and I'm not going to buy it because I really only care about the part with Dave.
|
yeah it is really an amazing album. Anyone here have the reissue? I got about a month ago. I Like the demo bonus tracks.
To me My Creation is overly cheesy and a waste of time, and the demos don't do anything for me, so when the original albums over, I skip the bonuses and go straight back into Holy Wars. |

Same as me, I was a bit disaapoint though, the part with Dave is kinda short. Unless on the extras disc there's more to the meeting...
Rust In Peace is definitly awesome. Unless on the extras disc there's more to the meeting...
indeed there is more to the meeting on disk 2 skom is a great movie though, it really shows the fall and rise of a great band who knows maybe in a bit there will be a megadeth and metallica tour!?!?!?!?! |

Yeah, I same with me. I would have to say that overall (like somebody else mentioned) Five Magics is definitly my favorite song off of the CD, although it has switched back and forth a bunch of times... |
My favs off RiP fluctuate between Lucretia, Hangar, Tornado and Holy Wars. :x
|
Best songs on RIP are Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls and Rust in Peace IMO.
|
IMO the whole of RIP is great, it got delivered today which was good considering i only ordered it on wednesday or thursday. its the remastered one, with the bonus tracks, inc. the demos of holy wars, take no prisoners and rust in peace
|
Woo!
I just got Cryptic Writings and Risk! |
maybe in a bit there will be a megadeth and metallica tour!?!?!?!?!
there was a metallica and deth tour a while ago well i think it was jsut a concert but it ended up ****e cos etallica decided to put lines of sugar out and pretend its cocaine to annoy dave |
It wouldn't have worked anyway, what with Dave used to be in Metallica, and Megadeth showing Metallica up and all..
|
actually it went well except for the whole sugar thingy and they both claimed to have enjoyed it
|

For me it would be: Take no Prisoners or Dawn Patrol. |
Does anybody like chris poland?
On every Megadeth page I've ever been too people constatly praise Marty Friedman. Now don't get me wrong, Marty is very good at constructing very good and very musical solos, but I just think that poland is the ****. Check out his main solo in "Rattlehead" on KIMB, especially over the D G# C D G# chord progression. Discuss... |
Oh finally, someone talking about Chris. :thumb:
Yes, he is my fav 'deth guitar player and still after so many years he shows that he's as good (or even better) as before on TSHF. His new solos are great. My fav Poland solos are: These Boots GM/Black Friday Blackmail The Universe Devil's Island |
Chris is **** good IMO, you guys should check out his solo stuff
|
Yeah, I read that Return To Metropolis was a heavy thing filled with incredible leads.
|
his solos on the bonus demo tracks on RIP are amazing
|
Chris is amazing, I love all his work with Megdeth. Can you guys recommend some of his solo career stuff?
|
Best songs on RIP are Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls and Rust in Peace IMO.
I would keep those three but add poison was the cure and take no prisoners. :thumb: |

Here, this may help: http://www.chrispoland.com :thumb: |

I wouldn't pay $75 to see Deth with Tallica when I payed $35 to see them with Exodus. Plus I wouldn't want Lars and James to be embarrassed in front of all their fans... |
Chris Poland is good, but he isn't technically better than Marty Friedman.
And yeah, does anyone have Cryptic Writings? I'm listening to "Almost Honest" now, it's true that this isn't as heavy as some of the early Megadeth stuff, but lyrically and musically, it's superb. |
Is of mice and men a very early megadeth song or a recent one? I think the guitar chords are used in such an awesome way!
|
Erm...
I think it was an early Megadeth song, do you have/like Countdown to Extinction? That album...is literally perfect. |
In terms of songwriting, I think it's Megadeth's best.
|
