Suffocation with Whitechapel, Veil Of Maya, Decrepit Birth, and one other band...my guess is Psycroptic being as they are on the same label as Suffo and DB...
looks like a pretty tight tour, not gonna lie. |
I'd go for Suffo and DB but that'd be it...I don't really understand DB doing all of these tours with crappy deathcore and tech bands either...I hope it's not a sign of things to come for the band especially with possible pressure from Nuclear Blast.
|
decrepit birth sucks, suffocation is the only decent band on the bill
and when i say decent i mean ****ing awesome but yeah |
I enjoy DB...one of the first bands of their type that I got into...and that's probably why I like them...
And yes, Suffocation is AWESOME! |
im loving Havok's Ep that came out last year. does anybody know if their new album is any good?
|
Do you know the death(-grind) label "Fossildungeon"? They are supossed to be from New York.
|
no, im not from New York
|
that was a question for all of you.
|
i figured that, but responded any way

Wow.... i can't believe this thread is STILL going. I have spawned a monster!!
Anyway, I was just perusing the Morbid Angel website, and noticed something that truly upset me: TREY PLAYING DEAN GUITARS@??!?!!!?? I don't keep 24/7 tabs on Morbid Angel anymore, but they are still by far my favorite metal band... did Trey totally ditch Ibanez and BC Rich? This is a travesty... personally, I hate Dean guitars. I think they're crap... they've never impressed me at all with their guitars and the Dimebag thing just annoys me, but damn. I never thought Trey would ever ditch his Ironbird. and its even sadder that they copied it, basically... and now im noticing that BC Rich and Ibanez are absent from the endorsements list. ugh. i'm going to go crank Formulas and wax nostalgic about glories past... |
omg it's the thread starter
BC Rich and Ibanez aren't great brands either. :\ |
Ibanez rules gtfo.
|
every ibanez I've played feels cheap
Maybe they were just low end models idk |
Ibanez rules gtfo.
this |
yeah ibanez make pretty tight guitars
|
yeah... low-end Ibanez guitars are going to suck, just like every other low-end guitar. Their other stuff, like the Universe 7 string, totally rules.
Same for BC Rich, except for the headstock-heavy issue... but damn. i can't believe Trey ditched the original ****... i'm seeing these pictures of him playing the Dean. i don't know what to think. lol. and anyway, Ibanez rules by default because of chunky slime of the Formulas sludge songs, like Umulamahri and Nothing is Not. anyone know anything about this new album? I've seen the videos of the new song, Nevermore, but the quality isn't good enough to really form an informed opinion on it. Honestly, I was super disappointed with Heretic, in every aspect. Trey kind of discovered constrasting, multi-guitar polyrythms in a big way, and threw that into every song just for the sake of it, and I don't like it at all. In fact, I think Heretic is by far their worst album. It was Trey being technical just for the sake of it. Enshrined by Grace is the only semi-natural, organic-sounding thing on the record. okay, i'm done haha. |
ibanez sucks at making anything but top notch guitars. those are great though.
|
i have an ibanez it gets the job done
|
my guitar is a sammick, its tone is elite for whitebelt

I still have a soft spot for BC Rich - at one point in the early days of Unsilence we had a Mockingbird, and Ironbird and a Mockingbird bass! A compliment of BC Rich! I still think Formulas was Morbid Angel's second peak (Altars being the first) after the dissapointment of Domination. but you're right Gateways and Heretic were crap. Partly because of self-indulgement Trey-isms and terrible production but also because Steve Tucker went from having one of the most brutal DM voices around to being a second-rate David Vincent clone. What an earth happened? anyway stick around and don't do drugs kids. |
idk, steve tucker's growl is pretty uninspiring. it works with the music, but it lacks the vileness of other vocalists of the era.
|
I thought he was fantastic on Formulas. Amazing live too. After then total pish.

You're partially right... even back in high school before I went MIA i liked trance, only Paul van Dyk's live sets pretty much though because he would improvise and build up these insane climactic cathartic peaks. My heroin addiction was growing very rapidly, and so was my dissatisfaction with Angeldeath and having to be the guy that runs it all. Everything was just kind of going bad in a big way all at the same time. Then, on a whim, i decided to go with my friends up to SPAC when Phish was here in 2004. It was only to score drugs, because you can get ANYTHING in the lots... but once the main lot's expansive vista opened up before my eyes, i had this unexplainable feeling of like... a homecoming, a feeling of "here I REALLY belong." It came out of nowhere and was COMPLETELY unexpected. I actually almost considered ditching the studio time we'd booked for the 2nd Angeldeath record, because it was booked for the same days that Phish's Coventry festival was going on, which was being simulcast into thousands of movie theaters around the country, and since they were (supposed to be) their last shows EVER, I wanted very badly to get to see them at least once. Anyway, that and seeing the Disco Biscuits for the first time (at which I also took ecstasy for the first time) a few months later on their NYE '04 run cemented my immersion into the jamband world. Its been a long, strange trip... haha. I mean, i can only imagine what my friends went through, seeing me always in black with Morbid Angel and Immortal shirts to having some tie-dye Grateful Dead shirts and spinning the sick You Enjoy Myself from Big Cypress, Phish's millenium eve concert in the everglades on a native american reservation in Florida where they played 3 sets on 12/30/99 and then 2 sets on 12/31/99, with the 2nd starting around 11:30 and ending at sunrise on 1/1/00. soooo.... in the middle of all of this, I had also put myself into rehab for my heroin addiction, which had gotten quite out of control, what with having gone to shooting up and about a $100/day habit. ive told this story a few times here and there in this thread... but anyway, aside from a few slip-ups i've been clean since July 5th, 2005. I mean, I still smoke pot every now and then, and I'll roll or trip at a show if I can, but my drug use days are definitely very over. I'm back in school, about to get my associates from a 2-year school, and i'm actually trying to get my chops back up to be able to play Angeldeath ****. now that I've successfully dealt with all of the **** that was happening back then, I realize how much I miss Angeldeath and that whole thing... so we'll see what happens. but yes, I am now what you could call a "hippie" I suppose... lol. I collect Phish and Grateful Dead shows... I dance and get my groove on like a giddy hippie at shows, but I still love me my Morbid Angel, Immortal, and Darkthrone. Paragon Belial mother****er!! |
Any of you guys ever heard of Hate Plow?
