If ur going to uplaod that concert on the Binge and Purge cd u should show them Jason's bass solo in Seattle too, i like that one better than his solo in San Diego. He uses this wierd deay pedal and lots of reverb its reeeally cool.......has anyone cn robert take a solo live?
Yeah when i saw them last November in San Jose. he was doing this little bass solo and then he grabbed the bass by his right hand, stuck his left hand out to the left side and started spinning really fast lol and when all that was done he went into the bass solo part of Orion and they finished that song.

Bazarov 07-25-2005 04:58 PM

That was a good video.

Britton 07-25-2005 05:39 PM

YES rob did that in s.a on thenov20 2004....have I said that enough yet?

metal_head_dude1337 07-26-2005 11:14 AM

METALLICA IS AMAZINIG!!!..lol they were the first band that i actually listened to. My dad has it on videotape of me jumping around at age 3 to Their Garage Inc. Cd.

Their 5 Best song have to be (in no particular order):

1.Ride The Lightning
2.Master of Puppets
3.Enter Sandman
4.Astronomy
5.Whiplash

btw..why does everybody flame their new stuff??? I think its awesome although St. Anger wasnt as "Built up" as i thought it would be...but Some Kind Of Monster was good.

Britton 07-26-2005 11:42 AM

Hey does anyone know of some really really old Metallica videos?

I mean like them play sanfran in like 81 82 83...are there such videos?

Huber 07-26-2005 11:45 AM

I'm sure there are bootleg videos from those days out there somewhere. I don't have them, but I bet someone else here does.

SeekandDestroy01 07-26-2005 11:45 AM

I say Metallica's top 5 songs are(in order)
1.One
2.Master of Puppets
3.Seek and Destroy

That's good, because most people here will agree with you. St. Anger was pretty good.

Britton 07-26-2005 12:17 PM
That's good, because most people here will agree with you. St. Anger was pretty good.
Well it was but please admit it was a bit on the repetitive side
it coulda been a lot better with some solo's

but I can't wait for another album

Burdcheese 07-26-2005 12:31 PM

Yeah - I've got extremely high hopes for the new one. With Rob on board, A return of soloing and notice taken of their mistakes it should be good.

Huber 07-26-2005 12:35 PM

That's probably true, but I didn't find it repetitive.

fatbandit 07-26-2005 01:13 PM

Uhm, how old are you now? I'm sure Garage Inc came out about 2000? (I'm probably horribly wrong...)

'98 I think. That was the 2 CD edition though.
It has been around in various forms since the 80's.

fatbandit 07-26-2005 01:20 PM

That was Garage Days though, am I right?

'98... That would put him at 11 at the oldest. Not too unbelievable :p

Get the Cliff Em' All DVD the whole thing is bootleg and it has them playing seek and destroy and no remorse at a gig in the 80's i think 83. There's a bunch of other shows with Saneterium, creeping Death, Mop, etc. There's also some funny parts in it with Cliff pulling a bunch of jokes and smokin pot, really cool. It's a tribute to Cliff but I'm unsure of the price i got it for my birthday along with the vinyl box set of Binge and Purge :thumb:

ChronoFilth 07-26-2005 01:50 PM

^ yea. Cliff was the bomb... And that dvd has some awesome cliff soloing.. It's almost worth buying it just for the couple solos!

Cypress 07-26-2005 02:17 PM

Im wondering, could metallica possibly be the coolest metal band ever? i think so 4 1... WHO IS WITH MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! :chug: w00t!!!

Garage Inc. came out in 1998.

Astronomy? What cd is that? And I wouldn't put Enter Sandman in the top 5. Maybe for popularity...

fatbandit 07-26-2005 02:25 PM

Astronomy is on Garage Inc. Which makes it a cover. For that reason alone, I wouldn't put it in their top 5...

I think Astronomy is one of their worst songs. Even if it is a cover. Right up there with Lover Man.

Schecterguitarist 07-26-2005 05:35 PM

Yo dudes I just bought the coolest album its by Apocalyptica: plays METALLICA by four cellos........IT IS SOOOO COOL. Ive cn that we hav talked about this b4 but this album is really neat. The cellos play the bass, rythm guitar, another rythm guitar, and another transcribes the notes james hits with his vocals onto the cello. There are 8 songs:Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets, Harvester of Sorrow the Unforgiven, Sad but True, Creeping Death, Wherever I May Roam, and Sanitarium. In m opinion, The Unforgiven is the best one plus, the lead cello does the solos too!!

Track 2. MOP: all cellos are great my fave part is the interlude where the cellos play the ditorted lead/rythm guitar and on does james' solo!

Track 4. The Unforgiven: AMAZING, this fits perfectly for a instrument thats main music is classical. The beginning of the solo is great plaus they play the entire song thru, every part transcribed

These are the only two I wanted to write about cuz i havnt listened to the whole album and they spoke to me the most. This album makes you respect music at hits highest potential and my frends, there will always be endless possibilities in music

Joe 07-26-2005 05:38 PM

I've heard a lot of it and I really like it. It sounds a lot like S&M (and it could possibly be the reason Metallica had the orchestra, I forget when the cellos came out). It's actually very cool and extremely original. They should have done some songs instead of Creeping Death. They should have done Unforgiven II, Fade to Black, NEM, maybe some others.
