Eh, my parentshave been very cool in that department. You know alcohol and such. They don't really mind if I drink, but they don't lend me the car very often because I get distracted very easily. <_<

And no curfews either. I mean, I try to be at home 2 am tops, but nothing bad happens if I arrive late. I try not to break a lot of rules either.

I want a band. I want my guitar back. <_<

 I just recorded myself attempting to make music

kurrpt 03-09-2006 01:45 PM

i have band oppourtunities, but I would hardly call them favorable. I guess the music scene here is crap or something.

Actually, the people are worse. If they admitted they knew very little, it wouldnt be a big deal. I just cant see having ego problems when you suck arse ya know

ATM 03-09-2006 01:49 PM

So, tonight I am going out to get my new guitar :) :) :)

kurrpt 03-09-2006 01:51 PM

Stormrider 03-09-2006 01:56 PM

Speaking of guitars, I tried the ESP I wanted and was disapointesd with it. :-/
Somehting bothered me...the feel overal I guess.

So now i still have a few models in mind, but I'm not sure.

ATM 03-09-2006 02:01 PM
what kind
Not really sure yet. I want to spend between 200-300, and I'm probably going to buy a used guitar.

Stormrider 03-09-2006 02:02 PM

I would like to go in the store and try it again. But i realy dont like the store. Awful service and all the people there think of us to buy buy buy. I mean, we were there for 15 minutes and no one came to see us, so we went to ask to try that guitar. Then the person came to see me after like 10 minutes or so, and I felt like, as if it bothered me that I played it and tried it out if I wouldn'y buy it. So i just gave him the guitar back. And sadly, that store is the only place where they have that ESP. And well, ESP's in general.

I hope that makes any sense.

Deconstruction 03-09-2006 02:11 PM

Eh guys. Whats happenin?

sounds like they are paid on comission man :upset:

When i go into guitar center, i literally do whatever the hell i want. They will be stints where i wont buy a single item for a month or two. Then again, ive dropped several grand in that store, so they've kinda learned whats up with me.

I use guitar stores as a place to "play test" the equipment. I refuse to get jacked for the price

slug : what are you looking to try? Any ideas at all?

Speaking of guitar center, Im going to apply for a job there when I turn 18 (April 26th). Its the only interesting place where I want to work. It may be expenssive, but it sure beats McDonalds and the local gas station.

The only probalme its HARD to get a job there, I'm lucky that the my local mmusic store is being swamped with students, and since I am in school for music the picked me up as a teacher. $26 dollars an hour.

fucking po'boy express didn't give me a straw.

Whats so hard about it? My guitar center seems pretty slow.

Guitar center would be awesome to work at. There prices aren't that high, like guitar and bass wise. The drums is where the rip you off. They only seel the shell kit and you have to buy the cymbals and hardware. It's a smart move but, if you want good cymbals and good hardware it will raise your bill by at least $400.

Guitar Center is very exclusive with their employees, just go there alot and get to know some.

Stormrider 03-09-2006 02:32 PM

Of the guitar centers I've been to, I've always had good service. Was able to try stuff and all.

Good thing I guess, as I don't ythink this has been the case with everyone..

The fact that everyone wants a job there.

Nostalgia 03-09-2006 02:34 PM

They have nice employees, really friendly and helpfull. It's rare that you'll get one who's an ass. Ha, a while ago I was going to pick up some drums and I didn't want to talk to this guy that they had, his name was Robert, he was really...mean. So I would call Guitar center and if the Robert guy answered I would just slam down the phone.

I'm just guessing here, but there's a good chance that there are musicians outside of your school too.

Well good luck to ya I have always had hard time getting a job in a guitar store up until recently.

kurrpt 03-09-2006 02:38 PM

i find their employees extremely biased, and rarely helpful. I find the majority of them as cliquey jerks who think they are "better in life" because they work at guitar center.

Im a friendly chap by trade. I refuse to give the unpleasant jerks my commission. Easy enough

Shadows 03-09-2006 02:41 PM

The guys at my local Guitar Center are all really nice. They're helpful and don't try to push crap on me. I'd like to get a job there sometime in the future.

Thanks for shooting my dreams down ben.

Same here. I will not buy a guitar from a store like the one I was talking about earlier.

This store I go to, isnt a guitar center, but we know a guy there who is realy nice. He always greets us and we do the same. Its realy cool.

Hmmm, now this is interesting.

I just bought Nevermore's "Dreaming Neon Black" and I am actually enjoying it much more than many of the other Nevermore albums I own, despite the fact that it more or less lacks a lot of what I enjoy so much about "Enemies of Reality" and "This Godless Endeavor." While those albums are almost totally given over to frantic instrumentals and death-style drums and a universally non-subtle, punishing approach, "Dreaming Neon Black" trades a lot of brutality for awesome thrash goodness. The solos are also mixed a LOT better and are WAY less wanky.

Moral: Jeff Loomis shouldn't be writing these things all by himself. Am I right in understanding that all the guitars on Godless Endeavor were recorded just with him, or is that Enemies?

Oh yeah, and the vocalist is MUCH MUCH BETTER on this album.

I listen to DNB and TGE for two different reasons. And Jeff Loomis recorded EOR by himself but I don't think he did TGE by himself though since Smyth wrote some of the songs and solos.
