The bassist from Mudvayne is amazing.....the rest of the band is bland and uninspiring.
drummer is pretty good too

Darkness 09-04-2005 05:31 PM

Funny In Flames was brought up, I'm listening to Colony now. One of my favorite bands, but the 2 newest albums aren't that good.

Moses 09-04-2005 05:46 PM
MEh this thread has gone down the drain. Not blaming anyone especific, just the thread as a whole, including my self
It's because I haven't been around that much, or maybe there's no Tool news.
Atmospheric concert: Tool/Isis/Opeth/Meshuggah/Massive Attack

Upbeat concert: SOAD/Primus/The Mars Volta(can apply to both)

These would be my ideal concerts. I know that Tool and Radiohead are too big to open for one another...however, if that weren't the case - I'd definitely have Radiohead in my atmospheric concert.
Actually Primus is really atmospheric in their concerts. Have you seen Hallucinogenics?

Kage 09-04-2005 05:48 PM

There hasn't been Tool news in a loooong time, though.

And, I'm 17 as well, by the way.

Moses 09-04-2005 05:53 PM

I wonder if there's been Tool news since this thread started.

Kage 09-04-2005 06:10 PM

I was wondering the same thing...and I really can't remember anything substantial. I've been around since the conception of this thread, and, really, besides the fact that they were working on a new album, there hasn't been any news.

But at first, there were plenty of things to talk about. Now we've talked about all of that ten-fold.

Epigoth 09-04-2005 06:11 PM

uuu

Moses 09-04-2005 06:12 PM

^^^

Ok?
Atmospheric concert: Tool/Isis/Opeth/Meshuggah/Massive Attack
That line-up could never be more perfect.

Darkness 09-04-2005 06:13 PM

Yes there has, the Lateralus vinyl was realeased.

Kage 09-04-2005 06:13 PM

I don't really consider that substantial news.

Darkness 09-04-2005 06:14 PM

Well its still news. What kind of news do you want? The new cd released? The threads only been here like a year.

Syncratic 09-04-2005 06:15 PM

Okay, let's talk philosophy:

I believe that everyone has the potential for intelligence, not just book-smart. We are all good at something. Most often, people find what they are good and best at, but many never find what they are good at.

Also, you can learn ANYTHING you want to learn. All you have to do is look for the information. Informing yourself. The information is out there. Utilize it.

I would hate to see Radiohead and Tool together... Two of my favorite bands at one show would be too much hehe

Kage 09-04-2005 06:17 PM
Well its still news. What kind of news do you want? The new cd released? The threads only been here like a year.
If you call the Lateralus vinyl being released substantial news, then there's been plenty of stuff like that.

Darkness 09-04-2005 06:20 PM

Really? What else have they released in the past year?

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-04-2005 06:31 PM

OMG GUYS! You MUST have heard about King Buzzo being in the recording studio WITH TOOL!!!

Lateralus vinyl is equal to the substantiality of King Buzzo's presence.

Something that may be of your personal interest: I finally picked up a new guitar cable, so now I am again fully equipped with tons of effects, meaning I can record a crapload of useless Tool songs!

And if you guys are lucky, some Porcupine Tree. :-D

Darkness 09-04-2005 06:34 PM

Whatever, I thought the Lateralus vinyl was pretty cool, and I can't wait to pick it up this week.

Just wanted to let ya'll know.

Darkness 09-04-2005 06:46 PM

You didn't really leave anything discuss... You pretty much just stated your thoughts on some stuff. Which is cool by the way, but what do you want us to say... I pretty much agree with you.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-04-2005 06:48 PM

Metaphysics makes anything possible. It's basically the real-world "The Matrix." If you can free your mind, you can free your body.

Of course, most people are skeptical of this, but hey, beleive what you want. Someday, I'm going to laughing my ass off on the astral plane at those narrowmind folks.

Syncratic 09-04-2005 06:51 PM

I just wanna get some good, intellectual discussion going.

denboy 09-04-2005 06:57 PM

It might be true that you can learn anything you want to learn.. But some people learn faster than others.... And we don't live forever

Darkness 09-04-2005 07:10 PM

Maybe, but we are eternal, and all this pain is an illusion.

....

Ok sorry, I'm actually up for some spiritual discussion. A while back I researched different things, such as the Third Eye, Auras, Astral related stuff. Found some interesting things on google. I found the whole Aura thing to pretty interesting. I started to learn how to 'see' them and what not, but I just kinda stopped practicing... :upset:

René Lévesque 09-04-2005 07:16 PM

is that magic :chug:?

nucca, enima is not as good as lateralus, i humbly submit.... :smoke:

Darkness 09-04-2005 07:18 PM

Its Ænima... but ok.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-04-2005 07:23 PM
its not that, its just. . .ive lost complete inrest for this myabe its just me. . .we need new tool!
This is why we should name the thread Und Kein Neues Tool!

We NEED new Tool, however we have a problem; And no new Tool!

/phayles

Rene- For trying to come off like such a deep guy in your first post here, you sure do take too many phrases from Dave Chapelle.

I'd love to do that stuff.

Have you checked out that thread? Good stuff in there.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-04-2005 08:40 PM

I check the thread every day. Merkaba is the god of the alternate dimension.

Man, playing Tool songs with my FX pedal makes it sound so much cooler. :-D I'm going to try and pull a massive recording session of Tuesday. I've been tone deprived for way too long.

Very true. Although, the fourth dimension belongs to Rod Serling.
