the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford if that's still out, but i doubt it.
Already saw No Country... Still have mixed feelings about the ending.

How's American Gangster?

It's of a quality that most large budget films should be at, but aren't, but it's also not really the classic I've heard some people describe it as. Worth the time/money, in my opinion.

Shattered_Future 12-10-2007 02:27 PM

I think my friend is giving me a bootleg copy of that sometime in the future.

Man, I probably mentioned this already, but The Golden Compass soundtrack is very good. Standard "epic" style sounding score, but it does a very good job of throwing in some more fantastical elements, a la the Harry Potter scores, cept without all the crap bits (never really liked them). I'm gonna review it for our online newspaper this week.

TojesDolan 12-10-2007 02:28 PM

Hmm yeah so I'm recording a new album I think it'll be nice.

rid 12-10-2007 02:33 PM

Quick review of No Country for Old Men anyone? I don't know anything about it, but people seem to like it.

Shattered_Future 12-10-2007 02:39 PM

Well, I created a Facebook profile for 3 minutes. And then deactivated it. That was lame.

TojesDolan 12-10-2007 02:41 PM

Facebook is a poor man's Magnolia.

Aakon_Keetreh 12-10-2007 02:49 PM
lol some kid just paid me 40$ to do one math hw assignment.
wtf

I wish that happened to me. All I ever did was sell my sandwhich for 5$ haha. Twice.

Aakon_Keetreh 12-10-2007 02:51 PM

Im so happy haha. I just made 40$ off 10 minutes of work.

Greatest common factor btw. :)

Tyler 12-10-2007 02:52 PM

Want to write a 500 word essay?

Eh Eh Eh Eh

Aakon_Keetreh 12-10-2007 02:53 PM

I would for 20$.

i think 40$ was a bit over the top, but how could i decline!

Anglachel 12-10-2007 02:56 PM

I should be reading 1984 atm but I dont want to

Tyler 12-10-2007 02:57 PM

I have to write three 500 word essays, a 700 word essay and a 1200 word essay. I hope this professor gets hit by a bus.
I should be reading 1984 atm but I dont want to
Dude its a good book.

Tyler 12-10-2007 03:00 PM

I thought 1984 was pretty boring and lame. The ideas were there but that was about it. Brave New World is much better. It's more prophetic and much better written.

Permanent Solution 12-10-2007 03:03 PM

BNW blew. 1984 is great.

Anglachel 12-10-2007 03:07 PM

I have to read both by January 6th so yeah

I chose BNW over Lord of the Flies and two other books that didnt sound as appealing

1984 was required for everyone to read

gmoneyguy 12-10-2007 03:32 PM

I haven't read BNW, but I liked Lord of the Flies.

Anglachel 12-10-2007 03:41 PM

I read Lord of the Flies when I was twelve

I was so creeped out by it then

1984 isn't really boring, it's just slow paced, which adds to the whole depressive effect of the entire book. When you get to the end of it, everything just seems to have so much weight, or at least that's how I took it.

Brave New World is great.

Jev 12-10-2007 03:46 PM

I hated lord of the flies.
I had to read it for my English lit and I didn't manage to finish it.

i am the robots 12-10-2007 03:46 PM

I've never read Brave New World.

I got really interested on when this was going to pick up a bit and ended up reading that last few lines in the book and though "fuck that"

i am the robots 12-10-2007 03:49 PM

Read the whole thing, I hated it until I was about a third of the way into the book.

Dimmu Burger 12-10-2007 04:00 PM

Has anybody watched the new Battlestar Galactica show? I'm halfway through the first season dvds and it is awesome.

I have no choice but to, so I hope you're right :p

Brave New World is awful. I much prefer 1984.

Eliminator 12-10-2007 04:09 PM

1984 rules

i am the robots 12-10-2007 04:09 PM

Dimmu Burger 12-10-2007 04:10 PM

David The Gnome was a high quality show.

Animal Farm > 1984 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brave New World

Monticello 12-10-2007 04:22 PM

I prefer 1984 to Animal Farm. And I haven't read Brave New World.

pate 12-10-2007 04:23 PM

I like 1984 a lot, but I LOVE Animal Farm.

ATM 12-10-2007 04:24 PM
