BludgeonySteve 02-05-2005 04:05 PM

Bartender, please close the ICP thread, it has been in the report problems/ask questions/make suggestions thread for a while, but nobody is doing anything about it.
Scotland won the first half, were drawing in the second and France scored a try by blocking a kick in the dying minutes of the game, thus giving them the win.
Oh. I feel as if I'm in familiar territory again now :)

It is similar to American football, just most noticeably(in the words of many (British) comedians) without the masses of protective armour and stopping for a rest every twenty seconds.

Yet in rugby do they don't to wear the heavy "protective armor," which would make it in that theory, less physically exerting, wouldn't it?

Burdcheese 02-05-2005 04:10 PM

Wait...

so scotland...

LOST?!?!?!

Those Motherfuckers lied to me

Distant Echoes 02-05-2005 04:12 PM

Was this rugby championship they just played a worldwide victory or somethin, because i heard absolutely nothing about it.

everybody around here is hyped up on the superbowl. Eagles better win too...........

but if they dont, i get 80 bucks, so its a win/win situation for me :)

What did you expect??

The game was in the Six Nations which is ScotlandvsEnglandvsWalesvsIrelandvsFrancevsItaly
Yet in rugby do they don't to wear the heavy "protective armor," which would make it in that theory, less physically exerting, wouldn't it?
Yeah, hence the lack of resting all the time. American footballers still wear masses of armour where rugby players don't, which was the main point :)

Burdcheese 02-05-2005 04:16 PM

Well of course I expected them to lose...
but I was told they'd won. Which of course came as something of a shock to me.

btw - thanks for the rep earlier munky

Screw the Eagles, their fans act like they're such underdogs, but look at me and the other Giants fans.... seriously, oh noes! teh Eagles at least do consistantly well instead of like 3 years of ownage and then 5 years of horrible upsets.

Basically Rugby players are harder than [American-]football players is I think the point they're getting at.

Though obviously footballers look better - less broken noses etc.

Bartender 02-05-2005 04:22 PM

Know what I always loved?

I live in a valley, and there is a city in it, and then there are hicks up on the mountains surrounding (hence the term "hill billy") so where I live it's like watered down Brooklyn meats Appalache, and I always overhear remarks like "Those **** spics, don't they realize that they live in America? They shouldn't be speaking their language in our land! We speak American in America!,"

I don't know if you guys know this, but I live in one of the Skinhead capitals of America, as well as a heavy Jewish and Hispanic population, as well as a large punk scene... yet there are hardly ever any hate crimes... go Allentown, the most peaceful hatetown in the world.

Wow, your hair dreads easily, it took like 2 months for mine to get in the right shape to be dreaded.

How long is it?

You could probably get away with it if it was short.

But you post in R&M, so I guess it's long.

I don't think I have washed my hair for 4 days, and it is rank.

I may try 4 weeks though.
hey does anybody have any good jokes????????????????
A guy was driving through the countryside one day, when suddenly his car broke down outside a monastery. Figuring on the kindness of the holy orders, the guy went in and asked for help. The monks explained to him that they're miles from anywhere, and so they'll have to fix his car; they can do it, but he'll have to stay overnight. So the guy was given a small room in this monastery, and slept there. About halfway through the night, he was awakened by a strange, beautiful noise. He was entranced by it, it was like nothing he'd ever heard. After a while it disappeared, and the guy fell back to sleep (incidentally having a really good nights sleep after hearing this noise). The next morning he woke up and immediately asked the monks around him what the noise was. They all, even the kindly Abbot, gave him the same answer; "We can't tell you, you're not a monk". He didn't particularly mind, as he felt wonderfully complete with the memory of this fantastic noise. Sure enough, his car was fixed, and he bade the monks good day and thanks, and drove off. Unfortunately for him, his not-so-quiet life meant that the feeling left by the noise faded over the months and eventually years..but the memory remained, and he determined to go back and hear it again, and to find out what the hell it is. So he drove out to the monastery, where he was remembered as one of the few visitors the monks had ever had. He asked them what the noise is, but again they informed him that they can't tell him, because he's not a monk. The man agonised over his decision for a couple of nights, but decided to give up everything and join the order, if it meant he could find out the origin of the noise. So he began the long process of becoming a monk, and several years later, he was formally accepted into the order. Waiting politely until all ceremony was over, the man asked if then he might know the identity of the noise which had so enriched him, and ultimately made his life empty. The Abbot informed him that yes, now he can know, and the man wept openly as the secret was finally revealed to him. But I can't tell you what it was, you're not a monk.

My hair is at eye length, my parents had me shave it bald when I got dreads, so I've been growing it out, but it ended in uniform length (mullet) so I got it touched up last night.
