yeh it's a great album, best songs are Ride The lightning, Fade To Black, For Whom THe Bells Toll and Fight Fire with Fire

For a long, but relaxing song Call of Ktulu, is a great listen.

nah, I just got into them really, and I was decidin' between Ride the Lightning, and St. ANger, but the shop keeper said, Ride the Lightening was better so I went with his opinion

If you like straight up thrash go for KEA.
If you like progressive go for AJFA.
If you like excellent memorable riffs go for MOP.

i was lookin for MOP but it wasn't in the shop,
I do want all the albums as they all seem equally good

AJFA is good, but they turned the bass right down on it, to piss jason off

Master of Puppets has way more memorable riffs than AJFA..

Master of Puppets itself, the song is always on the radio. If you've heard it for the first time you would fall in love with it. Also Battery, Sanitarium, Orion, Leper Messiah.

I didn't like mop and battery the first few times I've heard it. Sanitarium and One I did though.

AJFA - One, blackened, etc..
KEA - Motorbreath, Seek and destroy, metal militia, etc..

AJFA is a great album, don't get me wrong. I also favor it more, mainly because I love progressive rock and metal.

Memorable riffs are riffs that could be marked down as the greatest riff of all time. An example is Master of Puppets.


AJFA has a lot of good stuff. It has a great instrumental(To Live Is To Die), and possibly Lars' greatest drumming(Dyer's Eve). It also has Blackened and One, two of my most favorite songs on there.

Kill Em All is their thrash album when they had Mustaine. The Four Horsemen is very mentionable as is Anesthesia(Pulling Teeth) which spotlights Cliff Burtons songwriting and bass skills. Seek and Destroy is a favorite to all Metallica fans and highlights Mustaines solos. Metal Militia is a great one too. But, my favorite on KEA is definately Whiplash.


I can't really say that I don't like any song of the albums that you mentioned, so it is very hard for me to choose.

The first Metallica songs I loved were One, MoP, Fade To Black, Call of the Ktulu and Enter Sandman.

I shal keep all these songs in mind

Name about any Metallica song and I'm sure it has a memorable riff. There are good riffs for average songs, like Enter Sandman, and there are amazing riffs for amazing songs like Seek and Destroy.

-...And Justice For All: Incredibly long song, but filled with great riffs (including a great intro) and awesome vocals
-Eye of the Beholder: Probably my least favorite on the album.
-One: There aren't words to describe the kicka[SIZE=2]ss[/SIZE]ness of this song.
-The Shortest Straw: Once again, far from my favorite, but it's a good song.
-The Frayed ends of Sanity: Great stuff, but the one after this is so much better

-Dyers Eve: Easliy Lars' best drumming

KEA

You will have heard Seek and Destroy and possibly the Four Horsemen. The rest of the cd is incredibly thrashy with hardcore soloing. It's a great album (i don't feel like reviewing every song)
