I said, he was flawless when I saw him. Including on WNGF solo.

If you watch live videos though or the AYDY licks video. Tell me those aren't sloppy.
I've seen live videos. They aren't sloppy. His playing on the new albums isn't sloppy. His playing on Something Wild and, to a lesser degree, on Hatebreeder, was sloppy.

Shattered_Future 05-19-2006 06:47 PM

Actually, I don't think they sound much like American metal bands at all on this release. They just don't do anything to change their formula.

Shadows Within 05-19-2006 07:04 PM

I don't think they sound like American metal at all it's more agressive sure but the riffs are still pretty kick ***, and now i can understand (kinda) what hes saying now.

I'm Charming 05-19-2006 07:09 PM

I'm seriously sick of this input jack. It went out again. I open and of course the wire cut away from it's connection again. I'm thinking since a GOOD soldering job won't work. What will keep it on there and most of all lock that jack in place.

Any ideas.

encmetalhead 05-19-2006 07:11 PM

american metal aint close to finland metal yet

MRDuCran 05-19-2006 07:26 PM

oooo tough decision there....personally i like them both equally.

got tool? 05-19-2006 07:44 PM
Hey don't laugh. They made me enjoy that song. That speaks volumes.
Sorry man, didn't mean to offend or anything. I just thought that it was a pretty...different song than what i was used to.

The next step: In Flames doing a cover of "Bootylicious". I'd listen to that.

encmetalhead 05-19-2006 07:46 PM

COB >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> s***>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>HIM

Shadows Within 05-19-2006 07:46 PM

I really, really, really wish COB would do a cover of Devil Went Down To Georgia.

ESP Alexi-600

I just put 50% down on the White with Black Pinstripe LTD Alexi-600.
The ESP version is the same except for the Gotoh replace the Grover tuners and it says "ESP" on it. Oh yeah and its about $4,000 dollars more than the LTD. Anyways im getting it from Sam Ash. HELL YEAH!

Shadows Within 05-19-2006 07:59 PM

Yeah my friend was telling me about the tuners yesterday...thats just retarted...
AYDY reminds me of every other NWOAHM band, with better guitar work and the addition of keyboards. Sorry if you, or anyone else, doesn't agree, but every time I force myself to listen to AYDY, I hear Alexi scream "Look at me, guys! I'm hXc!!!"
i agree with you... in europe Cob has a big fanbase and they wanted to have this fanbase in the US too. so this is (imo) the reason why they tried hard to sound like an NWOAHM band :upset:

to the sloppy playing of Alexi: you have to consider than Alexi is sometimes drunk on stage. when i saw them live in vienna his playing was perfect, but after the show they all drunk a lot of wodka!! the next day my guitar-teacher saw them in linz and said that they made a lot of mistakes and played sloppy - after the show alexi asked for excuse.
so maybe alexi was drunk (the day before) and therefore he played sloppy at your show.

Yeah i dunno if they where drunk at my show or not he played pretty well but he looked beat to **** after the show I dunno if he was just tired or if he was drunk.

How much is the one you're getting.
Oh, and where are you buying it from (meaning what city you're from etc)

MRDuCran 05-20-2006 04:29 PM

None of Cob are drunk on stage. Alexi says he may have one drink before but he's never going to get trashed because then it would make him suck, and obviously he doesn't want that. And neither do we.

repcak 05-20-2006 04:37 PM

yes, but when he drunk the day before he can have a hangover the next day ... and this is even worse than being drunk.

MRDuCran 05-20-2006 05:25 PM

That's a good point. I didn't really consider that, but at least he garantees he doesn't do it directly before.

Shattered_Future 05-20-2006 07:01 PM

Oh man, that reminds me of this Sonata Arctica DVD I have...

"We played sober before, but we realized...we SUCK when we're sober. So we go back to playing the old way." *picks up bottle of vodka*

CoB is finnish. I think that region is refered to as, scandanavian though.

repcak 05-21-2006 02:39 PM

@MRDuCran: i downloaded Powertab and your exercises... thanks a lot.

edit:
the first shape you write is Major D:
15-12
-------13
----------12

notes: E,G,C

thats not major D (not even a major) or do you have another tuning on your guitar? i'm a little bit confused

GenuineImitation 05-21-2006 02:55 PM

Not banned. lollercaust.

Just to lazy to sign in on my laptop as Charming. Yup.

repcak 05-21-2006 03:32 PM

one more question to sweeping:

you, Mitch are doing it the way and Troy Stetina too.
when you have a sweep f.e.:

15p12---------12
-------13---13
----------12
u-----u--d--d--d

your sweeping is up, up, down, down, down; but i play u,u,u,d,d - is this wrong or should i play as i played before, or shall i re-learn it?
