I'm listening to Origin. |
It's known as a Diamond Head song, unless youre a complete moron.
i don't know Diamond Head and i didn't know its a cover...
First 3 are major, last 3 are minor. They're all in C maj/min so you can compare: 1&4, 2&5, 3&6 - making major into minor or 1,2,3 & 4,5,6 because 123 = all Cmaj and 456 all Cmin. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=8E7F1AC035DC4158 Obviously first set is 3 string, then 4, then 5.
# thanks... but i don't have Powertab... i use only Guitarpro 4 |
if my band can get its act together(that means me playing good) then we will do a cover of a song by COB but it'll have to be from new album cause that album is awesome
|
i don't know Diamond Head and i didn't know its a cover...
then the second part of my statement applies to you |
i don't know Diamond Head and i didn't know its a cover...
Thanks... but I don't have Powertab... I use only Guitar Pro 4
Download it, it's free.
If my band can get its act together, (that means me playing well) then we will do a cover of a song by Children of Bodom, but it'll have to be from their new album Are You Dead Yet? because that album is awesome.
Do We're Not Gonna Fall. |

Are You Dead Yet is very, very far from awesome. |
But it's still good.
|
But it's still good.
IMO, it's not even that. I'd personally rate it as extremely subpar. Laiho was just trying WAY too hard to be badass. It has a few good tracks, though. |
The first one was great.
/respect The metal thing, I wasn't impressed by. I wasn't digging it. How many years have you played piano for?
12 years. Started when I was 5 and I'm 17 now. The metal thing isn't really a good representation of what we sound like though. |
I've been playing piano for around a year I guess. It's so expansive and complex; I love it.
|
But it's still good.
Agreed. |
i was actually thinking about getting a keyboard just for writing
|
I'm listening to Tokyo Warhearts, it really is incredible.
Alexi's playing is soo clean, he's gotten worse over the years. I mean he pulls off Silent Night, Bodom Night fukkin' perfectly and it's faster than the original. Every solo is perfect infact. In love with his tone too. |
He's gotten worse over the years?
|
Well judging by his live playing then yes. Some of the stuff he does now is horrible. His Zakk Wydle improvisation type stuff blows compared to the neo-classical era they were in during Hatebreeder to Follow the Reaper.
I mean Hate Me solo is awesome but he never plays it the same anymore, I noticed he grabs the bar alot and just dives harmonics if he runs out of ideas or messes up. I would much rather see them in their Tokyo Warhearts days. |
I can't say I agree with that at all. He was a little sloppy back then but now he's very clean.
|
Alexi Laiho is an amazing guitarist, but I disagree that he got worse, if anything, he has become better and cleaner, IMO
|
I agree with DuCran. They've ran out of ideas IMO :-\
|
That doesn't make any sense. Unless you're saying AYDY sounded exactly like their last albums.
|
That doesn't make any sense. Unless you're saying AYDY sounded exactly like their last albums.
True. AYDY sounded nothing like their early albums, they changed their style a lot, but I prefer their old stuff over their new stuff. |
Well after hearing Tokyo Warhearts, I can never think he's got cleaner. Maybe on the albums he is obviously, but live, no way.
BlackFire, he IS an amazing guitarist, I'm not denying that, but his accuracy has decreased. |
He was flawless when I saw him several months ago.
|

Same with when I saw him. Flawless. With that said. I agree with Mitch on this one. He's gotten a lot worse. |
On Tokyo Warhearts, listen to Towards Dead End, and at 2:32, I swear one of them hits the wrong powerchord
|

After being a fan of AYDY, I realized that it is just stuff that's been done time and time again before. |
Same with when I saw him. Flawless.
With that said. I agree with Mitch on this one. He's gotten a lot worse.
That's the most contradicting oinion I've ever heard.
After being a fan of AYDY, I realized that it is just stuff that's been done time and time again before.
By who? AYDY is one of the most unique albums I've ever heard short of pioneering a new genre. |
Yeah I'm kinda new to CoB...but so far I'm really liking sixpounder, warheart, downfall...and oops i did it again
|

Hey don't laugh. They made me enjoy that song. That speaks volumes. @ Ben. No. It wasn't. I said, he was flawless when I saw him. Including on WNGF solo. If you watch live videos though or the AYDY licks video. Tell me those aren't sloppy. |
By who? AYDY is one of the most unique albums I've ever heard short of pioneering a new genre.
Pardon? Bodom had something unique going with the sound they had pioneered up UNTIL AYDY. Then, Alexi's vocal style changed so that he sounds more like a Nu-Metal vocalist; torn between (horrid) singing and screaming. The addicting, neo-classical riffs gave way to lines that have been time and time again by American metal bands. The very fair lyrics became about as corny as DragonForce and Cannibal Corpse. AYDY reminds me of every other NWOAHM band, with better guitar work and the addition of keyboards. Sorry if you, or anyone else, doesn't agree, but every time I force myself to listen to AYDY, I hear Alexi scream "Look at me, guys! I'm hXc!!!" |
