The article was a good read, and it definately got my interest up for the album..

It's cool how down to earth Adam is at times, but the guy still sticks to his guns....and he cries easily...now, I don't know how to take that...maybe he's Emo..? j/k But the guy has a passion for his music..

I like how he shed some light on the song, "The Pot" with the phrase, "The Pot calling the kettle black."

kurrpt 04-03-2006 02:30 PM

so they are the kettle

Could you post the article up on the net for me please? Either a scan.. or transcription would be cool, scan obviously being easier for you. I'm sure tons of people would love to see it.

kurrpt 04-03-2006 02:46 PM

dude, go back like a page or 2. The link is still active

got tool? 04-03-2006 02:50 PM

I can. I just have to wait till I get home...I'm surfing the net here at work at the moment.. :thumb:

Shadius 04-03-2006 06:24 PM

It's ok! I found a link! Nice article.

deadohiosky9 04-03-2006 07:31 PM

That article has got me even more anxious for this new album.

5thEye 04-05-2006 06:55 AM

Look for the new single to leak out in about a week or so.

kurrpt 04-05-2006 07:06 AM

someone needs to post that link when its available :thumb:

5thEye 04-05-2006 07:52 AM

It will probably be posted on toolband.com like Schism was those many years ago; if not yes a link to it should be posted...

clearvision 04-05-2006 07:56 AM

Looking on TDN someone says it is due to ship soonish, which means it will leak soonish. THE WHOLE ALBUM. People on TDN are buying it too, which is kinda rare, they're normally pessimistic fools.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-05-2006 08:01 AM

I've not heard much more about this streaming the single online before the release anytime soon, that would be a good thing to do. Im still in the minority though hoping it wont leak, giving me confidence that there is a way to prevent it falling out of the artist's control

I'm hoping that it won't leak either, but I think that it is inevitable. Almost everything gets leaked these days, which is unfortunate. Either way, it won't affect me as I refuse to download leaks.

kurrpt 04-05-2006 09:26 AM

well, arent you the self-righteous fighter for music rights...

i bet you OWN all the music you have too

dUSK 04-05-2006 09:29 AM

Of course I don't. I didn't mean to come across as a smug **** either.

I will download an album freely if it's already been released, but if it's something I've been anticipating for a while, I will generally be in the local CD store the morning of it's release.

kurrpt 04-05-2006 09:31 AM

yea, i was just talking smack bro.

It just gets to me how people act so ABOVE everyone else, stating that they wont download leaks, yet own countless albums they didnt pay for.

Im just not sure where you draw the line. Dont get me wrong, im buying this CD the day of as well :thumb:

dUSK 04-05-2006 09:36 AM
yea, i was just talking smack bro.
No hard feelings. :)
It just gets to me how people act so ABOVE everyone else, stating that they wont download leaks, yet own countless albums they didnt pay for.
Like I said above, I don't mean to come across as thinking I'm "above" anybody. But if an album has been released for a while, I feel like I can download, sample, and the pick up the CD at a later date if I enjoy it. If I'm keen enough for an album to be considering downloading it before it's actually been released, shouldn't I also be keen enough to fork out $30~ for it on the actual release date? And if I'm going to do that, why would I download it first? That only lessens the great feeling you get from having purchased an album only hours after it's been available on shelves.

kurrpt 04-05-2006 09:45 AM

thats totally cool man...

i just get offended when others try to ruin it for everyone is all.

denboy 04-05-2006 09:57 AM

I too hope it doesn't leak... Mostly because I'm curious to see if it's possible for such an anticipated album not to leak.. If anyone should be able to keep their album from leaking, it should be Tool...

I doubt they'll be unable to keep it from leaking though.. And I'll download it as soon as I find it

clearvision 04-05-2006 10:02 AM

I'm gonna go without downloading the leak...providing my mum will buy me the CD :( I planned to get her to buy it ages ago, but my parents just bought me a car so are all 'omg are we made of money' all the time...

/no job

In other news i listened to oceansize for the first time in ages today. They are a good band.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-05-2006 11:16 AM

Oceansize....cant think if i've heard them before, but they ring a bell.

My Isis CD finally arrived today :)

Moses 04-05-2006 02:07 PM

Oceansize are pretty good. I have Music for Nurses E.P.

Esoteric_Creator 04-05-2006 02:18 PM

If the single leaks I'm going to suck that bastard up like a sponge..

The only beef I could have with a leak is if it an edited leak. I don't think that happens often, but who knows..

As for the actual album...hell no with DL that monster. I've waited too long just to get a chopped up album. I *have* to have the finished product seeing that Tool always have segues and tracks that run into each other, and DL don't do that. So, it's 'no breno' for me..

Plus, I have a sack of Blue Cush waiting for the arrival of that CD...and damned if I ruin that sacred moment.. :smoke:

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-05-2006 02:23 PM

woooo going to see tool in june :D

"10,000 days"

i dunno it just looks funny for tool :D

and the cover is a little funny as well ;)

Oceanic. So far so good, reminds me of a Cult Of Luna track that got played loads back in the day (least I think it was them)

I know when I get the album, im getting in my friends car and getting them to drive round till its played all the way through. Be like a mobile listening party

Isis is so sexy....

If they and Tool go on a tour together and skip over St. Louis I think I'm going to kill myself. :(

Syncratic 04-05-2006 04:18 PM

I'm staying the fuck away from p2p networks for the next month.

This album, name regardless, will be amazing.

deadohiosky9 04-05-2006 04:31 PM

Tool have done a good job of keeping this album from leaking so far, so I wouldn't be that surprised if it didn't leak at all. In other news, I've been listening to Lateralus again, after a loooong time. Can't get enough of it. AJIG, wasn't there a rumor about Tool touring with ISIS for this new album?

Adam Jones is GOD 04-05-2006 04:43 PM

There is, and its practically confirmed for most European dates. However, its looking more and more unlikely they'll be support for the London dates, which is a big blow :(

That of course leaves it open to who will suport there. Rumours of Yourcodenameis:milo, Amplifier and even Sikth have been rife, which would be good

Syncratic 04-05-2006 04:45 PM

So, what are your buying plans? Are you gonna listen to it immediately or wait until you get home.

I'm not opening the album until I get home, if I can get it on May 2.

deadohiosky9 04-05-2006 04:47 PM

I'm definitely going to open it as soon as I'm in the car.

Syncratic 04-05-2006 04:48 PM

To me, it's an exercise in self-control.

I don't wanna be burnt out on this album too soon. As well, I wanna experience the album for what it is, and not when I'm distracted during the car ride.

deadohiosky9 04-05-2006 04:50 PM

Yeah, maybe I will attempt that. I am just incredibly anxious.

EDIT: Was there ever any dicussion here about the Kabbalah and some specifics on Sacred Geometry as they relate to Lateralus? I haven't posted here in a long time, so I'm not sure if this has been discussed, although it probably has. I'm mentioning it just in case it hasn't been discussed, because I finally believe I truly understand and grasp the philisophies/ideas in Lateralus as a whole. Just wanted to see if anyone else had read into this stuff too.

gillygan 04-05-2006 06:22 PM

I finally got my hands on some Tool. Its great stuff. I'm downloadin some APC right now too :)

MidnightRider 04-05-2006 06:36 PM

Being the cheap non-supportive fan I am, I'll probably just download the album.

Nah, I plan on buying it, but I know I'll cave in if any leaks come out.

deadohiosky9 04-05-2006 07:13 PM

I would buy it regardless of leaks, just for the art.
