Well 'Tender, you've got more than I do there.

Bartender 02-05-2005 10:35 AM

All of mine come from my days looking after the Punk forum. Usually in the form of apologies for shifting yet another Green Day thread over there.
I love sleeping in :)
Me too. *yawn*

Good Morning.
Anyone got a Rate Your Music account?

Feel free to search through my albums, I think I have most of them down. There may be a few suprises aswell.

http://rateyourmusic.com/~iron_priest
EDIT: 'Nevermind...'

I have all my music recorded on Microsoft word, but god knows what'll happen on that program. Does that site just let you rate music or post your collection or what?

RYM takes a while to really set up; it's not just a copy-paste list kind of thing. Once you have all your albums noted though, there's loads of cool little features you can make use of, aside from keeping track of your albums.

I saw the thread on it and decided to check it out, but it looked like it would take far too long for me to put 400 some CD's in there. Maybe if I get really bored...

Distant Echoes 02-05-2005 10:49 AM

to batender

Yeah, i just edited the thread as soon as you posted, so i think ill just save my time and keep it on my computer. Ill print out the list now so incase anything happens, i can retype it

I had just short of three hundred when I first signed up, and it only took a few hours. I was surprised.

Distant Echoes 02-05-2005 10:53 AM

'Only' a few Hours?!

thats way to much time to take out of my day just to enter what i already know i have in music.

NP: ZZ top greatest hits

just got the album not too bad either :)

The Musician 02-05-2005 10:55 AM

There's too many words to read on this page.

You don't have to do it in one block of time, you know. Just make an account, and whenever you have 20 minutes with nothing in particular to do, add some of your albums.

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 10:59 AM
I had just short of three hundred when I first signed up, and it only took a few hours. I was surprised.
Okay, I think I'll give it another try. I am definitly not doing it all at once though.

Bartender 02-05-2005 11:00 AM

Well yeah. I was just at the tail-end of a four week holiday, with nothing in particular to do, so I did it all at once.

Distant Echoes 02-05-2005 11:03 AM

I would, i just dont see the point. I can post all my music right now since i already took time out of my day to do it, i dont see the point in doing it again.

I even added all the release dates to the album a few days ago to, so i can list them in order they came out, as well as legnth, album title, song title, band name, days i downloaded them, and something else i forget. Its Just easier on my day

munky_magik 02-05-2005 11:05 AM

I still need to get around to doing all my albums.

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 11:07 AM

I have iTunes and I found this really cool thing that allows you to export your album list to html.. It doesn't put just the artist and album though, it puts absolutely everything you have entered about the CD. You have limited arrangement options but it's pretty cool.

I think I will do the Rate Your Music thing anyway, just as another option. It has some pretty cool features besides just listing your CD's.

Distant Echoes 02-05-2005 11:08 AM

Hey bertender, if you have all you music on the RYM website, can you send a link so i can check it all out?

3rdplanet 02-05-2005 11:26 AM

Just started a rateyourmusic account.

My rating is so biased, I have just gave 4 Dream Theater albums 5 Stars. Can't help it.

Does anybody else do that?

Distant Echoes 02-05-2005 11:29 AM

Id probably do it for floyd albums, since they all are that great, but id give some honest ratings...unless they overall rating is suffering for a good CD.

slow day on mx today too...

Woodstock 02-05-2005 11:53 AM

I may sound behind on this, but why is the title changed?

munky_magik 02-05-2005 11:55 AM

Bartender was bored so he changed it, then changed it again. A HHG discussion was on going at the time which inspired the current title.

I did it for two Primus CDs. Probably more if I had them.

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 12:15 PM

I'm trying to do as honest of ratings as possible. I havne't done many albums yet, but I'm sure I will find some that I will have to give 5 stars.

Nope, I have only rated 2 PF albums at 5/5

magicbus 02-05-2005 12:27 PM

I suck at honest ratings. I usually dish out 4's and 5's, because I'm a sucker for good music :upset:

3rdplanet 02-05-2005 12:29 PM
Nope, I have only rated 2 PF albums at 5/5
I think I just gave Signify and In Absentia two 5's aswell :upset:

magicbus, I too like to think I just listen to good music.

EDIT: Duh, I read PF as PT.

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 12:46 PM

Anybody here have a Mac and soulseek? There are a few programs that are supposed to work, but I can't get them to.

Isn't everyone a sucker for good music in their own opinion?
