That kind of reminds me, I found out "my" drummer is a Tool fan.. And has great tastes in music.. And I think I got him hooked on Porcupine Tree and Dredg.. ... Wedding Nails = Great song to put on at a party and headbang to \m/

What I meant is, due to this being a pretty small town, I tend to recognise a fair few people my age, and i've not known many of them to even show an interest in that style of music, let alone tool. All it took was me wearing a shirt for them to voice their praises.

Although i've never been, I still know that in the US, Tool are 10x bigger than here, although I can see the new album changing that

Agreed Knifeboy, I got my friend into PT by showing him Wedding Nails under the excuse it was a Slayer song, cause all he listens to is RATM, Pantera and some Trash.Then he said what an awesome riff.And then I said HA HA You're hooked buddy.That's not Slayer, it's band called PT.They're awesome.I caught him singing the melody later on.HAHAHAHA.

I think we should go with the poll in thread way of voting, as I said earlier. Personally I think it would be much more cleaned up, instead of unnecessary posting, and most of all, less confusing for people just signing in. Let's just make a sticky thread with a poll.

About three people at my year at school listened to Tool, including me. They're not popular where I live at all as far as I can tell. I'll have to try wearing my Tool t-shirt out places.

I've done that recently with my mix CD I make my friends now and then, along with some of DT heavier songs. Im hoping I can convert them in time for getting tickets to their shows

You people seem to generalise too much when it comes to peoples musical tastes.. (That's kind of what I did with my drummer, I thought he was a pure metalhead)

Whenever I go to a concert(regardless of the bands there), the one band shirt I see the most are "Tool" shirts. I see more Tool shirts on, than the shirts of the actual bands playing the concert.

I dont normally, but when i've thrown prog to pop, death to disco, and post rock to classic rock, and people still wont accept anything but R&B and hip hop, ones views on people do start to narrow.

In general though, I stay open to other peoples take, dont think im one of these closed minded people :upset:

I dont see why, its just a shirt. 90% of my shirts are band ones from numerous gigs, it tends to be cheaper and easier than finding regular shirts

I never wear bandshirts (I've never had enough money for one after buying the concert tickets), but I agree.. It's just a shirt ffs... And is it so wrong to show the band that you support them?
