9pm here, and I think I'm staying in to work on my take home exam. Might go out for a few beers later but it's not likely.

Permanent Solution 12-08-2007 08:15 PM

God you guys need to get on real time.

Tyler 12-08-2007 08:17 PM

I'm taking a break from this garbage.

Should I watch
a) Star Trek episodes (Original Series)
b) Battlestar Gallactica (Re-imagined series).

I was going to watch the Celtics/Bulls game but the Celtics announcers are like 500 years old and I can't watch a game where the commentators sound completely uninterested.

Riva 12-08-2007 08:17 PM

You mean The Future?

In The Future there will be no walking; everyone will have wheels!

Tyler: Original Series just for the awesome fight scenes.

Worked all day today, but made 70 bucks, cool. :)

masterchaos 12-08-2007 08:59 PM

not too bad

gmoneyguy 12-08-2007 09:09 PM

I slept, and smoked all day. 9-5s aren't too bad when you have every weekend off.

i am the robots 12-08-2007 09:11 PM

Same, I wanna hang out, but nobody's picking up their phones.

gmoneyguy 12-08-2007 09:28 PM

My friends are away at uni until next week.

Tyler 12-08-2007 09:45 PM

lol @ Scott's Scottish accent.

Angmar 12-08-2007 10:34 PM

Does anyone know what would cause Mozilla to randomly freeze up every 20 seconds? It keeps freezing and it's driving me nuts.

gmoneyguy 12-08-2007 10:35 PM

I dunno, but its doing the same to me.

Eliminator 12-08-2007 10:36 PM

Anglachel 12-08-2007 10:59 PM

Mozilla isnt doing anything for me

your computers just suck :)

Invicta_Veritas 12-08-2007 10:59 PM

I just use IE and avoid the issue altogether.

///done with photo shoot; will have pics up Monday night probably.

Kage 12-08-2007 11:11 PM

IE is so much worse than Firefox.

Invicta_Veritas 12-08-2007 11:12 PM

I've never had any problems with IE.

Usually it's the user, not the program, that's the problem.

Anglachel 12-08-2007 11:13 PM

True

Shattered_Future 12-08-2007 11:14 PM

Safari ftw.

So, The Golden Compass does no justice to the book whatsoever. They changed the way the events happen tremendously (granted, it happens all the time in movie adaptations) and they completely copped out on the ending. However, Sir Ian Mackellen voicing a polar bear wearing armor...you really can't get much more badass than that. The direction and score of the movie were top notch too. It's just a pity they didn't do more with it.

I think I might be able to agree with that.

At least they have tabs now.

Invicta_Veritas 12-08-2007 11:17 PM

That's something I was really happy about.

I dunno, I have to use Safari or Mozilla at school, and didn't have any problems there either, so my previous point stands.

Tyler 12-08-2007 11:17 PM

Well it's the user in a lot of cases but when it comes to IE's gaping security exploits im pretty sure it's the program.

Invicta_Veritas 12-08-2007 11:18 PM

That's not IE; it's Windows. But yes, point taken.

Interesting.

Glitterati 12-08-2007 11:59 PM

Hey did you guys hear about the new pirate movie?

It's rated Arrrrrrrrrrrr.

Kage 12-09-2007 12:00 AM

The thread was already dead, you didn't need to beat it into the ground.

Invicta_Veritas 12-09-2007 12:01 AM

But it's more fun to clobber the shit out of something to make it bleed more.

NemesisDivina 12-09-2007 12:13 AM

Kage, that essay was actually really cool. Thanks for the post.

Kage 12-09-2007 12:14 AM

I found it amazing. I agreed with everything he said.

And he's this really renowned, well-know, brilliant scientist.

NemesisDivina 12-09-2007 12:39 AM

Yeah, I could tell. I think the funny part is that he was probably writing that while he was high, since he talked about all those other essays he wrote high (like 11 at one time?)

Kage 12-09-2007 01:04 AM

I'm debating the merits of taking a creative writing class next semester. I'm already a creative writer and I don't need a semester of a teacher telling me how to structure a three-act story, but it would be cool to have a class where I could get feedback on my writing and/or force myself to stop procrastinating on all the stuff I've got to write about.

Any opinions on the matter?

NemesisDivina 12-09-2007 01:17 AM

It'd be a good idea Kage, I don't see the negative side to it at all. Plus, it could help you structure your stories better and learn how to make your writing more interesting (possibly from the helpful criticism you would recieve)
