I can get to Irving Plaza with ease. However, I find it very odd that they'd schedule it for April Fool's Day. I really don't know what to think. A lot of people think that there's going to be some AFD joke concerning the new album and its name, tracklist, artwork, etc. Of course, no one really knows for sure. The fact that this listening party thing is on AFD really sticks out to me. Maybe, it's their way of sticking it to the skeptical fans who think they are gonna' do another prank this year. I really hope this listening party thing is true. I'm not going to go, but I think it's a really nice idea to let some people hear the album a month early. It'd be a kind little gesture after the long wait since Lateralus.

I don't think they'd fully diss their fans like that and not show the album. They'd give them something to make it worth their while.

Maybe they're going to let them hear the album, then either feed them some false information about it, OR reveal to them something that we don't know.

I thought about going, but 11AM was too early....i'll expect a full album review up somewhere on the net at 1pm, maybe even a leak by 2.

I'm betting its tool AFD pranking, i doubt that the band members would be in all different places so close to the album dropping when there is interviews/promo band shots to be done. Furthermore 3/4 of the band was in australia at the start of March to do promo work so why would 1 member come back here when there is no reason for them to?

Im waiting to hear from someone who did go, just so I can find out what was planned out there as the joke. So far, no news, maybe 500 people are too embarassed to admit they fell for it.

I don't think Tool are [I]that[/I] big of dicks to actually make people come out to some venue to listen to an album and then never show. I got in the 1800s all 3 times I took it (over 1200 all 3 times using the 'Old School' scores, discarding the essay).

Well, it's almost time for the LA listening party to start, and a lot of people have written in about the first three already. I'll get those emails up soon, but suffice it to say that everyone was pretty thrilled. Toolfan48 writes:

No, the amount of more money you would theoretically make with a Master's or PHD would be the incentive. GRE is basically the SAT, but for getting into Graduate schools. It's not actually that much more advanced than the SAT, but the grading system is beyond hellacious. You start out with a simple question (or, to be more accurate, what the people who designed the test consider "simple). If you get it correct, you are asked a more difficult one...if you get it wrong, you are asked a simpler one. The computer centers in on your score based on the difficulty of questions asked, becoming more precise with each question. What this means is that if you just happen to get any of the first 5 or 6 questions wrong, your score is completely shot, regardless of how you do on the rest of the test.

In other words, it blows.
