That's very true as well...guitar should be a fun thing to do, instead of a chore. Have fun with what you do, and don't try to compare yourself to others.

I've since accepted my condition, and I'm fine with it. Sure, I'd like to be better (we all would...even my dad, and he's been playing guitar for 30+ YEARS), but I don't want to kill myself trying to do it.

I have no misconceptions. I know they "used to be a death metal band" because you've said so thousands of times. And I have heard the older material.

Everybody's got one. Some are just cooler than others.
I've sinced realized I haven't been as good at guitaring as I thought I was either...

I can do rhythm/chord changes/some melodies perfectly fine, but ask me to try and solo over some chord changes, and I can't do it very well. I'm pretty sure that's more of a technical aspect though...it has to do with not being able to move my fingers fast enough in the higher frets.

Odd thing is, though, I can play ridiculously fast (well, maybe not ridiculously, but rather fast) in the lower ranges, but not in the high. I don't know what it is...
I know how that feels. I just came on the revelation that my composition skills have surpassed my playing skills.

Seems interesting. Not all movies made in Hollywood are bad, just most. Both Crash and Walk the Line were two really good movies.

Oh, ok.

Definetly rent or buy Crash and Walk The Line. Two top notch movies. Crash will definetly be remembered as a classic (possibly the same will go for Walk the Line).

Taken from the International Movie Database:

Plot Summary for
Crash (2004)

Several stories interweave during two days in Los Angeles involving a collection of inter-related characters, a black police detective with a drugged out mother and a thieving younger brother, two car thieves who are constantly theorizing on society and race, the distracted district attorney and his irritated and pampered wife, a racist veteran cop (caring for a sick father at home) who disgusts his more idealistic younger partner, a successful black Hollywood director and his wife who must deal with racist cop, a Persian-immigrant father who buys a gun to protect his shop, a Hispanic locksmith and his young daughter who is afraid of bullets, and more.

PinkFreud 03-07-2006 06:50 PM

It's a bunch of interwoven stories dealing with the issue of racism. As with a lot of people, I suspect, I didn't think it deserved to win. But what do I know. I wasn't as acquainted with the nominees this year as I would have liked to been.

Chuck Norris is President Bush's favorite actor

that's not a Chuck Norris joke, that's actually true.

I was kind of hoping Good Night And Good Luck would win some awards. I haven't seen it but it's about Edward Murrow taking down Joe McCarthy so it's good just on princible.

And Martin Lawrence (of Big Momma's House 2) got robbed of Best Actor.

Lord Abortion 03-07-2006 07:38 PM

Hah, Big Momma's house 2 is supposedly one of the most terrible fims ever devised.

Martin Lawrence gained 200 pounds AND underwent a sex-change operation for his role. C'mon, cut the brotha some slack.
finding out funny facts just owns the hell out of memes based on b rate actors.
It is indeed THE single best Chuck Norris fact.

And it also gives you a further look inside our President's psyche. I'm not expecting him to be some big Scorcese fan or anything, but the fact remains that he probably spends his Saturdays watching Invasion USA or reruns of "Walker, Texas Ranger".
