EDIT: OH MY GOD THE SONG "ATONEMENT" HAS A RADIOHEAD SAMPLE
, From which song?

Robert Crumb 09-02-2006 06:41 PM

"You And Whose Army?" is the sample. And yeah, the Roots album kinda surprised me pleasantly.

Daniel! 09-02-2006 08:18 PM

I've been digging the reissue of Sebadoh's III and basically nothing else all week.

Kayo Dot + Tom Waits

Birthday tomorrow, I selected Tim and New Day Rising as gifts. I already got Let It Be and Zen Arcade so now it's time to see how The Replacements and Husker Du (respectively) followed up those albums. I haven't heard either of them in full yet :(

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2006 09:57 PM

Tim = better.

pixiesfanyo 09-02-2006 09:59 PM

Chad VanGaalen - Skelliconnection

Got this is the mail today. Chad is probably the best singer/songwriter out right now along with M. Ward.

Monster Movie
Tago Mago
Ege Bamyasi

Are these the only Can albums worth checking out because all three of them kick ***?

pixiesfanyo 09-02-2006 10:13 PM

All Can albums have at least some decent material on them.

Life Detecting Coffins now.

No. Future Days is fantastic, Landed is pretty cool and Delay 1968 is good.

Marlboros are for fags who don't know a good cigarette.

Like Josh Homme or Rick Froberg

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2006 10:21 PM

Ooh another deep burn from pixies.

As if attempting to top the bone crushing power of their upcoming tour with Mastodon, Converge has announced plans for a fall headlining tour in support of their sophomore Epitaph release, No Heroes.

The pioneering chaotic hardcore band will be joined on the tour by Some Girls, Modern Life is War, Blacklisted, Kylesa and Gospel.

Would you enjoy this?

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2006 10:30 PM

Some Girls I would probably enjoy. Last time they were good but just a bit too noise for me. The rest I don't like or havn't heard.

I'm downloading Witness by Modern Life is War though, so I'll tell you after that.

pixiesfanyo 09-02-2006 10:31 PM

Man MLIW is sooo good.

I'm surprised you don't like Gospel?

BillCosby 09-02-2006 10:33 PM

holy chet

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2006 10:34 PM

I'm not a big hardcore fan. I'm rather selective with listening.

Oh, and they're shit.

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2006 10:37 PM

Ok I'm listening to "The Outsiders" by MLIW, and it sounds like a heavier Rise Against.

Not impressed.

br3ad_man 09-02-2006 10:44 PM

Gospel seem like a Tangy band. Especially that song "Golden Dawn".
