Yup, Dixie, who plays bass in Bongzilla. he also plays Bass in Weedeater and does vocals. :)

Sounds interesting. Maybe material for the DU?

I've been listening to Sleep's Holy Mountain, what a great album.

I'm going drinking tonight with a friend of mine who likes Death Metal so I'll give it a try to get him to go with me. If not I'll probably not go.

Yes indeed.
I love the fuzzy, buzzy guitar tone of stoner.

That'd be awesome man. If you could use sendspace or axifile it would work. Nice NP BTW. :)

the2stranger 01-13-2007 11:26 AM

Alright. :)
It's uploading right now on to sendspace.
Should be done in half an hour or so.

Tyranny are great indeed. \m/

on another note: I recieved my original copies for Corrupted - el Mundo Frio and Corrupted - Llenandose De Guasanos yesterday. :D

Daven 01-13-2007 11:33 AM

Thanks man.

Nice albums, Corrupted is great.

Corrupted. \m/

Bartender 01-16-2007 01:35 PM

Finally managed to listen to Thee Plague of Gentlemen - Primula Pestis (every other time I've tried to play it it just span around really, really fast and sounded like it was about to melt). Just a few tracks in so far but this is really awesome stuff.

I still haven't managed to hear Corrupted, though.

I wouldn't say they're particularly easy to get into at first (marathon songs as long as an album), but I think they're great.

I can send some into the DU, if you'd like to hear (and are on the DU at all).

pate 01-16-2007 05:03 PM

I'm going to upload my band's new doom album for the DU soon. If anybody here is interested and not on the DU, tell me and I'll give you the link.

Critique on your album:

1) I hope that's a drum machine. If it is, try to use double bass a little less. If it isn't, try to use double bass a little less.

2) It would sound much better with clean vocals: the instrumentation calls for a more Candlemass or Sahg feel. Try to recruit someone with a slight Southern drawl; it would be perfect then.

3) The guitar and bass work is amazing. Keep it up and don't change a thing.

4) Like I said before, find someone who can sing and have him do the main vocals. Some shrieks in the background every once in a while would complement it well, but I personally think it would sound better with clean vocals.

Thanks a ton for the input.

Yes, it's a drum machine.

I know my vocals are shit, but my cleans are even worse. It was either those are no vocals at all. And yeah, we really need to find a good singer.

I'm telling you bro, if you got a good clean singer and a live drummer who has a lot of background in CR or Jazz, you'd have a winner on your hands.

Best of luck to you. :thumb:

Fine by me, really. I already like a fair few bands with long songs.

Thanks, but I'm not, and probably won't be. I'll just keep checking on ebay. One day will be my day.

Anyone here heard the new Asunder? I read an outstanding review for it and it has me interested.

Shattered_Future 01-16-2007 07:47 PM

Did anyone pick up The Novella Reservoir from the DU a while back? I found it somewhere else, and it is ridiculously good. It's not totally doom, but it's just terrific regardless.

Me too, tickets aren't even that expensive if you look at the great lineup already.

i won't go wacken but maybe this festival, but only if i won't have exams in the same week :(

Great! I'll send it in to Oz in a day or so, but...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q9TEODY6

:p

It's at 320kbps. I'll be upping one at 192 soon, in case the 320 one is too big.

the2stranger 01-17-2007 08:20 AM

Thanks!
Let me check the speed megaupload gives me right now.
If it's good I'll go for the 320 kb/s.

Nostalgia 01-17-2007 08:43 AM

Man, Unholy is really good. The vocals remind me so much of Obituary.

Grief is one the best bands ever mentioned in this thread. I'm sick of talking about Bongzilla.

If you don't mind, I'd be quite interested in hearing that Griev CD. :)
Thanks in advance.

Retired: Why don't you like talking about Bongzilla?

np: Sunn O))) & Boris - Fried Eagle Mind
(haven't listened to this in ages, good stuff though. \m/ )

RetiredAt21 01-17-2007 09:07 AM

I'm not really into much "stoner" stuff, but I love doom and such.

the2stranger 01-17-2007 09:12 AM

Me likes the doom too.

Did any of you hear about Paradise Lost?
They're going to record a DVD. :)

RetiredAt21 01-17-2007 10:41 AM

There you go.

RetiredAt21 01-17-2007 11:44 AM

I listened to some of that song "Grey", but I didn't really like it.

Graves At Sea, anyone?
