can you easily put zippers on denim? i head somewhere that you shouldn't, either becuase it looks bad or its a pain

Jessizzle 05-25-2005 04:48 PM

Sewing anything to denim by hand is a pain.

Rise Me Up 05-25-2005 04:58 PM

Yeah my vest was hell.

oitotheworld 05-25-2005 05:18 PM

is it any better using a machine? i have one but i've never used it

Rise Me Up 05-25-2005 05:26 PM

Actually using a needle with a hole instead of the nail style isn't that bad.

oitotheworld 05-25-2005 05:36 PM
Well, I've said it before in this thread, so I'll just go dig up what I said before:

I also make my own patches. The way I do this is I print out the image that I want from my computer onto some cardboard-ish material. Then I cut the image like a stencil and use fabric paint. Fabric paint pens work a lot better then just bottles of fabric paint, but they run out much faster.
would using white out work for lack of fabric pens?
is it any better using a machine? i have one but i've never used it
It works but i have found the machine got stuck at some points due to the thickness of the fabric.

I bet it washes off. You could try it, though. It seems like a waste of white out, to me.

I finally got a black shirt at goodwill. It's time for me to put a logo on that shirt. I think I have enough fabric paint to do it, but I'm not sure.

Brain Toad 05-25-2005 06:17 PM
anybody know how to deal with a slightly chipped tooth without being able to afford dental treatment or anything?
Deal with like how?

Jessizzle 05-25-2005 06:18 PM

Do they sell dental glue? is there such thing even? Or be hardcore and leave it as it is.

Anarcho Poser 05-25-2005 06:19 PM

I chipped my tooth playing football a few years ago. After a while I just sorta stopped noticing it.

_Tyler 05-25-2005 06:23 PM

UndergroundBassist 05-25-2005 06:42 PM

I guess if you really wanted to you could use crazy glue

cheeser_1 05-25-2005 07:33 PM

i don't have the piece that fell out. i like the duct tape idea though.

i was looking online, it says you can file it down very gently, i might try that, just to smooth it out. it seems fine otherwise - i didn't get to the inside part of the tooth.

shane italian 05-25-2005 08:03 PM

Break through the emotional barriers and call your parents.

i would try any diy dental work like filing, that sounds like it would hurt like hell if you screwed up. it depends on how bad it is, if its minor then leave it as is and since no inside parts of the tooth is showing you should be fine, just dont eat any rocks or anything

IFlogMyMolly16 05-25-2005 08:49 PM

Yeah...don't do anything.

Circle_Jerk 05-26-2005 08:56 AM

Well, you might get rocks in your mouth.
America = rich fat people.

no, america = rich people ****ing over the poor and impoverished people. Most of America is poor or middle class.

I tihnk that's kind of a dumb statement, since in any given country there will be less rich people than average or low income families. It also depends on local standards and such. I'd also say that In America, everyone ****s over each other.

IFlogMyMolly16 05-26-2005 01:42 PM

(S)he is just saying that America is not a bunch of rich people because Juan said that they were.

I think wild generalisations are dumb but that doesn't stop you making them.

Flagjacket 05-26-2005 02:17 PM

I don't think what I said was a generalization, since each country will have it's own standards for rich and poor, with rich usually being people holding a large amount of wealth, be it having a TV set and beds, or owning a 400 acre estate with a garage full of Maseratis.

And to FloggingShannon: Yeah, now I see. Whoops.

I got my vest in the mail today. It's a XXL and kind of small, but it shall do. I start patching it as soon as my backpatch gets here.

I lack 2 patches to finish my vest. I was thinking of getting a c'ock sparrer one.

Brain Toad 05-27-2005 01:45 PM

I have a Sparrer one that I never got to put on my jacket, it will make its way onto my vest probably.
