Beacuse he may like the brady sound a bit better, it's not uncommon for players to stray away from their endorsement drums, especially on studio recordings.

I think Danny Carey sucks compared to the kick *** drummers out there nowadays... like Tre cool and Barker, those guys are where the talents at...

in a recent drum magazine interview he said he still record most drum parts with a bubinga kit, although all his promos are him on the paiste set......
