IMO:
DTLI > Chuck > AKNF > HHOP It's alot more like DTLI, so if you prefer it to AKNF, I suggest you get it. Or, just do what ever the hell you want, and don't take advise from random's on the interweb. Either ways good... |
If you like there more heavier songs over their poppunk songs like fat lip in to deep and stuff than definitely buy it. Its a lot heavier than AKNF
|
Its a good album and worth buying, do it. All killer no filler really isn't that great..
|
Dave left. This band is over.
|
Scott posts in Pop-Punk, what's wrong with this picture.
Umm, any links? |
Dave left. This band is over.
Linkplz. If you're wrong, I and everyone one else in this thread will kill you. :) |
I'm talking to Scott on MSN.
He says someone posted it in R&M, it could be false. They don't have any links to back it up. |
Ah, I see.
Stupid nubs. |
Could be a false alarm, no worries. Probably a stupid nub.
I used to like this band a lot but I outgrew the genre. The reason I posteed in this forum is because someone from here posted in R&M. |
I semi like the band. I used to like them a lot, but then I got into better music.
|
I just started getting right back into them again.
|
Wiki says it was announced on the radio.
That doesn't verify it but eh, tis possible. |
I was kinda looking forward to another album.
Any "reason" for him quitting? That is if he actually did. |
All it says is he left on friendly terms. If it happens I'm sure there will be an official press release but nothing is on their site yet.
|
Oh. Yeah, I checked their site as soon as I saw that post and saw nothing.
|
Oh Edge is the radio station that said he left. Don't believe it. They are the worst for getting information from. Wait until there is an official release.
|
yah i got it from the edge
|
yah i got it from the edge
Was it in the morning show? |
morning show and then again in the evening
|
morning show and then again in the evening
Well being in the morning I would say it's quite possibly not true, since the guys who do that are ignorant bastards and like to piss people off. As for the evening, I don't listen to those guys, so I don't know if they would go along or not. |
quite frankly, I think when they put of chuck, they became a little bit worse, I liked their more pop-ish sound.

/agreed DTLI was amazing though. |
Personally, I prefer the more 'rock' sound.
I loved DTLI, and Chuck was great too. AKNF and HHOP were great albums, just not as good as the others, IMO. I think Sum 41 are a much better rock band than a pop-punk band. But they do very well at both. I just find the heavier stuff more... Powerful. If that makes any sence... |
well DTLI, was like the cross genre, and I think they are the best at that time,
|
well DTLI, was like the cross genre, and I think they are the best at that time,
Agreed, DTLI is their best album because it is kind of in between. |

It's the only album that kind of bored me. I love Pieces though. My favorite song on the album. |
Dave has indeed left the band, it's been confirmed. I don't know if this has been said yet or not, but it's true. Too bad as he was the only one with any real talent. Perhaps he'll go on to form a better band. Apparently he said something along the lines of the band wasn't suited to what he wanted to do and how he wanted to express himself anymore, but there's no hard feelings between them.
|
Oh ****, I didn't know about that.
I hope they find a good replacement, and all the best to Dave, he is an excellent guitarest. ****, Sum 41 better not end for this... I've been waiting for a new album for too long. That sucks. |
Here's his statement he said about him leaving the band
"I couldn't continue on creatively in Sum 41 without being a thorn in the side of the band. As people grow, they change, All I can ask is that our fans understand and accept my thanks for being there for me whenever I was feeling happy, sad or depressed. The first thing Steve [Jocz], Cone [McCaslin] and Deryck [Whibley] told me was that they just want me to be happy. It was awesome to hear that we all had the same feelings." Dave will instead concentrate on his classic metal project, Brown Brigade. He is currently auditioning vocalists and working on material for the band. |
Aww **** that just put me on a downer. He was a great guitarist aswell. Maybe he wanted to go down the metal route more and the rest of the band didn't?
