Peepee 07-16-2004 11:18 PM

Classic Rock kick asses...

Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Beach Boys, Animals, Guess Who, The Who, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Focus, Kansas, Jethro Tull, Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Yes, David Bowie, Frank Zappa and the Mother of Inventions, Nazareth, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Creedence... and a lot more..

But my favourite one is The Doors...

BludgeonySteve 07-16-2004 11:20 PM

^that first post beats most other people's first posts. Which is good, my first post was asking who dave grohl was :(

Badmoon 07-16-2004 11:29 PM
Mahavishnu Orchestra
There more Jazz, but still a great band :thumb:

We should have a Classic Rock field trip (in time) :p and go see a C.R band. That'd be sweet.

It'd be...

In the rental car
------------------
Badmoon
Rocknotroll
DVG
Rockandroll
Voodoo
Bonz0

ect...

RockAndRoll 07-16-2004 11:30 PM

My band learned hotel california today and I realized it has a very weird thing during the chorus (I think it was the chorus) listen to the drums on beats "4" and the "and" of beat four. It sounded very weird to me at first, but I hadn't noticed it before today when I learnt it. I like it now though.

That's the best Idea I've ever heard, but I hope by rental car you mean, shagin wagon. I call shotgun!

EDIT:I think we should do a sort of tour go to a bunch of shows, go backstage and maybe travel with a few of the bands and end it off with something huge like woodstock.

I've got another Idea, we could form a band! I've got the drums covered!

Badmoon 07-16-2004 11:32 PM

What is exactly weird. I don't feel like switching from Eat A Peach to Hotel California right now :p.

^Welcome back :)

skenken 07-17-2004 12:27 AM

why is everyone forgettin acdc. even though they still play doesnt mean they cant be called a classic rock band, they've been playing for years. they r one of my favorite bands

burt reynolds 07-17-2004 01:10 AM

i think your right
That's the answer I was looking fo, but I do beleive that's not the only song of theirs in the movie (when they're going into new yorkand they find out he's not a virgin it's playing misty mountain hop if I remember correctly).

That is why I do not beleive that dazed aand confused has any of their music in it.
yeah i believe misty mountain hop is in that movie too, i know for a fact that dazed and confused has no zeppelin in it, because, jimmy page released an album of what he thought were the greatest hits to the big movie studios about 3 years ago, you cant get the album, it was just released to help get thier songs into movies, and almost famous came out right after that

Yo, I'm down :)

I can produce the album. Me = self-taught producer.

Guitar Ganja Dude 07-17-2004 02:56 AM

Classic rock is the best kind of music in my opinion. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, ACDC, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, Van halen, Guns & Roses, etc. (some of which may not be considered classic) are the most talented bands ever. So many bands out today where inspired by classic rock bands. Also I think The Darkness is kinda bringing back that 70's style of rock. Its not the same but better than most newer bands, at least I think so.

StreetlightRock 07-17-2004 03:38 AM

I got Guitar!

Heh, reading about Queen just now, i was in Greece, and just after we won the semi-finals for the Euro cup, we sat down for dinner, and the shop right next to us KEPT playing 'We are the champions' OVER and OVER and OVER again. I had it stuck in my head for the next 2 days.

and Skenken, ACDC has been mentioned. lol, prolly almost every single CR has been named, if you shift though the 74 pages, im sure you'd find one youre looking for.

DVG.

RockAndRoll 07-17-2004 09:26 AM

Although I think AC/DC has good songs especially for getting pumped/partying or whatever they're not one of my favourite bands, all their songs sound too similar to me. Although they put on an awesome show, they stole it from the stones last year at sarstock.

Badmoon 07-17-2004 09:34 AM

ACDC has grown old to me. It'll happen to all of you too, that is if it has yet to happen.

RockAndRoll 07-17-2004 09:45 AM

I agree, I'll listen to it if it's on but that's it.

BludgeonySteve 07-17-2004 09:58 AM

But AC/DC is the thunder from down under! :( yeah you're right. I still like them and will never grow tired of their songs (at least their good ones).

Badmoon 07-17-2004 10:01 AM

Banned again, why this time?

BludgeonySteve 07-17-2004 10:05 AM

I don't know. Probably posting in bad threads or something like that.

rockmerollme 07-17-2004 11:58 AM

Anyone familar with Little Feat? They're not as widely recognized as they probably deserve to be, but I figured if anyone would know of them, classic rock fans would.

slugger69 07-17-2004 12:28 PM

I would say there has been an increase in classic rock. I personal like it. Led Zeppelin, The Who, and the Jimmi Hendrix are my personal favorites. I just moved to Florida and a lot of people like that rap crap. But I came from Iowa (Yeah, Iowa) :D and there was a lot of guys at school that love classic rock. I would see guys wearing Led Zeppelin, Steve Millar Band, The Who shirts. I think there's that "relival" because many people don't like the nu-metal stuff or rap, and the rock they've been listen to has become old, so they go back to what started it all.

 That is pretty much what everybody in my school says.
It's dumasses that like the darkness that ruined classic. This MTV band is untalented and sound like pitiful pop rock. Die.

rockmerollme 07-17-2004 02:20 PM
I would see guys wearing Led Zeppelin, Steve Millar Band, The Who shirts.
There was this random explosion of Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" t-shirts at my school this year. You would see at least three of them a day. I mean, it's great that people can get into classics like Pink Floyd, it was just out of no where that all of a sudden tons of people were walking around with the infamous 'light through the prism' image on their shirts..
