I wish that Hetfield and Ulrich had never kicked Musatine out. They sed that he was rly rly violent and that he broke some guys leg at a bar cuz another guy was yellin at Lars(they were obviously drunk). Mustaine wrote the main rif from the call of Ktulu too, the melodic intro riff that the whole song is based on, thats one of the reasons i like him mor than hammet becuz he could contribute mor to the rythm guitar than hammet. If anyone was wondering, i read in my So What Book that Mustaine broke a guys leg, next morning they woke him up and told him to pack his bags

Is that true? I never really new why they kicked him out. I always thought it was to do with his playing not being up to scratch, you know on S.M.O.M in the theropy session, mustaine says something like "when you guys kicked me out i always felt like it was a way of saying that i wasn't good enough for you guys anymore".

Huber 07-19-2005 01:49 PM

Mustaine wrote tons of stuff for Metallica, not just Call Of Ktulu.

I'm glad they kicked him out, they would have ended up breaking up sometime after MoP or something, and Metallica would have been much different. I'm happy with Megadeth and Metallica, rather than just one band that might have just sounded like Megadeth anyways.

No, they kicked him out a day after he assaulted James (he was on drugs), and figure his drugs problems would keep causing those problems and kicked him out, no warning. Woke up one day and was sent home on a bus.

Chu 07-19-2005 01:55 PM

What do you guys think about the riff from Leper Messiah?
Mustaine or not?

He did write Call of Ktulu, well he did come up with the chord progression that it uses, coz he uses the exact same chords on Hangar 18.

Thats pretty harsh just kicking him out with no warning. But, yeah i prefer it as metallica and megadeth, both 2 of my favourite bands

I didn't say he didn't write anything for Call of Ktulu.

Oh yeah sorry my mistake, misread your post :upset:
Edit: Oh, and I prefer Mustaine to Hammett, although Hammett wrote some amazing solos on Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets... If he could still write like that, oh my god.
Mustaine wrote some of the solos on RTL: Call of Ktulu, Ride The Lightning.
Hammet was featured from Fade To Black, Trapped Under Ice and Creeping Death.
Hetfield wrote solos for Fight Fire With Fire and For Whom The Bell Tolls and Escape.
I'm getting this off their site, so it's factual.
Hetfield played all the harmonized leads, so he technically already has played many of the solos, like Four Horsemen, first solo.

Mustaine influence ends after RTL, MOP was straight Hethamulburton.

Dude if this works.....e-cookies for life :thumb:

Seing as Mustaine is going solo, and what not, I would love to see maybe with Metallica's new album a song that features Mustaine, James, Lars and Rob. Just to see what style they'd come up with.

Lol yeah, just a quick "ƒuck off for a few mins please kirk we're in the middle off something here"

Bazarov 07-19-2005 02:16 PM

Yeah, I'm sure Kirk wouldn't mind, he's always so mellow. I wouldn't mind if Kirk was missing from a song.

Yeah i wouldn't be surprised if hes like stoned 24/7. The only time he ever gets pissed off on SKOM is when lars suggests gettin rid of the solos. "You know whats bullsh!t, no solos is bullsh!t"

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 02:18 PM

It'd be quick, Mustaine and Rob still like fast stuff, and Lars, whatever, he'll have a smaller dick in the matter. But it would be pretty cool, especially since Mustaine has had time to think about what went wrong, him and the rest of the guys, and if they still had good chemistry, one more RTL is in store.

Bazarov 07-19-2005 02:19 PM

I wouldn't doubt if he was stoned a lot. Maybe it's just his nature to be mellow and easy gowing. But the place where he lives, he could grow all the pot he wanted and probably never get caught.

Jev 07-19-2005 02:23 PM

Has anyone ever noticed Kirk's hair plugs?

Chu 07-19-2005 02:23 PM

Nah, Kirk gave up drugs, he surfs, remember? lol

*Cough* fag *Cough*

Bazarov 07-19-2005 02:25 PM
Nah, Kirk gave up drugs, he surfs, remember? lol

Yeah I actually remember that, his speach about keeping his mind clean or something a long those lines.
Has anyone ever noticed Kirk's hair plugs?
He does?

Chu 07-19-2005 02:26 PM

I think, as fans, it is our obligation to send him a bowl of weed for inspiration on their next album.

Bazarov 07-19-2005 02:30 PM

I heard Hammett has a belly button ring?

Jev 07-19-2005 02:31 PM
He does?
I reckon so, if you look closely at a picture of him you can see his hairline is like a dolls.

BTW Father Jack, hows the download going?

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 02:33 PM

Okay now it's time to get Dave back, dressing up like dolls, surfing, I'd rather be beaten by an intoxed idiot than work with that.

Joey makes the solo drum fill on seek and destroy sound uber secksi

EDIT: A little disappointed to only see one track (Battery) from Master of Puppets

fatbandit 07-19-2005 02:45 PM

I'm impressed to see anything on it (or I will be... 72%...), seeing as this was fill in drumming arranged right before the gig...

Such a simple song, but it works so **** well.

Yeah everyone says its really cliche, but i love a good bell tolls cover

Chu 07-19-2005 03:18 PM

My band do it perfectly, well except vocals, and there's only 3 of us, our bassist is so amazing.

Father_Jack 07-19-2005 03:32 PM
My band do it perfectly, well except vocals, and there's only 3 of us, our bassist is so amazing.
Yeah its works pretty well with just the one guitarist because its so simple.

On the live download thing, James sounds a bit a dick when he has to like improv when he is waiting for the drummers to switch around

KillemAllforOne83 07-19-2005 04:57 PM

is it a video?

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 05:32 PM

Now see I have this problem with loads of people saying Metallica is overrated because so many people like them. Now I am open to this opinion, if they had an arguement to support that, I wouldn't agree, but I'd accept it. To me there arguement says, "You like them, and they are famous, therefore, their playing ability must suck." Which is what should be considered when saying someone or a band is over/under rated, and that makes no sense. They are talented, but not a lot of people think they are gods of playing, so to say they are overrated shouldn't even be too much of an issue. How do these people become so stupid.
