have you lost heaps of weight? do you pee like every 10 minutes and are you always thirsty? have your eyes gone blurry recently.

those are the main symptoms. i as drinking about 30 litre of water a day when i was undiagnosed. thats like 7 and a bit gallons. ridiculous
No.

Kind of, I pee and drink a lot but don't generally drink unless I have food

I've had a lot of light headed moments the last 3 months and get kind of nauseous. Bad eyes too, which might be related. Another thing is bad circulation at times.

pate 12-08-2007 10:29 AM

I pee constantly. :(:(:(:(

big80smullet 12-08-2007 10:37 AM

More if I'm drinking beer though.

No but prescription drugs are drugs too silly.

Oh good :)

I'm actually writing a paper right now about the over-medicalization and rationalization of the health industry of America. I'm trying not to write a book.

Actually that's only part of the paper, but my favorite part. The paper thesis is that capitalism is the biggest social problem in America

<3 the Superpear.

Sweet, I just realized my infraction is done. I need a new one.

That's not totally conclusive and not totally accurate, but really now, how does something like this get ignored while we all talk about shitting?

Shattered_Future 12-08-2007 12:21 PM

Well so here's the problem with clinical depression. A lack of serotonin can be caused by many things, as can a rise. Sure, dumping drugs into your brain can raise the levels, but so can smiling. So I mean unless you're being tested for a chronic lack of the chemical, you're just getting some mass produced solution tht might or might not help you.

A lot of people get sad and a lot of people are anxious, so I mean if you prescribed drugs to everyone who met the definition of "clinical depression" you'd probably have 1/2 the population on drugs, it's stupid. If you have an actual problem with production of serotonin that you can't fix any other way, then fine, that probably could use medication. But the fact of the matter is we don't even test whether or not that's the case.

It sounds stupid, but actively putting forth an effort to be happy can have a huge impact on the levels of serotonin and ths depression in a person. Medicalization is just a convenient way to shift blame and produce an easy solution.

And yeah screw America >:[

Vince, you're just jealous because you're not special anymore. ):

I don't think you're entirely right, though. I mean, couldn't you have perfect chemicals by nature, but such a crappy life that it would be a major help to take medication to get your life back on track?

You're probably right for the most part, though.
