Ghostface Killah -More Fish
How does that compare to Fishscale?
this album usez so many z's youd think 2pac waz sleepin
Haha, true. Good album but Me Against The World is better.

Zebra 03-16-2007 10:20 PM
Teenage Fanclub seems neat, but I've only heard "Star Sign" so far. what album is needed??
Bandwagonesque
They Might Be Giants - Flood

Must... get... Lincoln...
get it because it's a much stronger album.

metalicajaymz 03-16-2007 10:30 PM

Teenage Fanclub fucking sucks.

Momus - Ping Pong
The Van Pelt - Sultans of Sentiment
Jorge Ben & Gilberto Gil - Gil e Jorge

Momus is uh, yeah. The others are good.

pulseczar 03-16-2007 10:39 PM
Both More Fish and All Eyez On Me suck terribly.
your attitude sucks terribly tbh

RZA - Bobby Digital in Stereo
here is an album that sucks terribly and i've wasted time on today
How does that compare to Fishscale?
Not as good, especially since Ghost employs his Theodore Unit for almost all guest raps, but still has some banging tracks.
I've been interested in this for a while, how is it?
Intense as hell, for one thing. The rhythm's are all over the place and disonnance takes a big part. For being a half an hour, it's pretty rivetting the entire way through--it seems to work like a series of two long, tumultuous crescendos that have some amazing climaxes. I can see why it caused riots on its premier.

metalicajaymz 03-16-2007 11:13 PM

brb, time to revisit Deceit and see if it's any better.

Robert Crumb 03-16-2007 11:52 PM
Jorge Ben & Gilberto Gil - Gil e Jorge
Shit is so raw and loose. I love Jorge's voice.

Went out and wandered around for a while, listened to some of the new stuff I bought today. The Flamin' Groovies' Shake Some Action is good stuff, I bought it on the strength of the title track, which is this rad kinda power pop number. The rest is 60's British Invasion blues rock with hints of dirtbag punk. Worth checking out.

pixiesfanyo 03-17-2007 12:59 AM

Battles - Mirrored

samthebassman 03-17-2007 02:20 AM

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain

An absolute classic!

Little Man being Erased 03-17-2007 02:46 AM

The Cars - The Cars

So good.
Battles - Mirrored
How's this?

pixiesfanyo 03-17-2007 10:14 AM

Good. They added vocals which makes it different but not in a bad way.

Zmev 03-17-2007 10:24 AM

Ben Kweller - Sha Sha

Sepstrup 03-17-2007 10:25 AM

I listened to a lot of post rock/electronica/instrumental music today because I was (supposed to be) studying:

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
Tangerine Dream - Phaedra
Tortoise - TNT

And now playing:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven.

Didn't get much studying done though.

Sibylle Baier - Colour Green

Interstate 03-17-2007 10:33 AM

Converge
Beethoven
Mastodon
Al Green

Every song I've heard from Petitioning The Empty Sky so far (I don't have the actual album just downloaded a few songs) has been amazing. I can't seem to get into songs I've got from Jane Doe though, try as I might.

Been digging Al Green alot today, figuring out which one of his albums to buy first is a bitch.

Zmev 03-17-2007 12:07 PM

El-P - Fantastic Damage

Call Me and Let's Stay Together are nice starting points. Depending on how devoted you are to Green though, a good argument can be made that the Greatest Hits is all you need. But oh man, Al Green.

The DFA remixes chapter 2

Boilermaker 03-17-2007 05:18 PM

Big Black - Songs About ****ing
Fugazi - 13 Songs

metalicajaymz 03-17-2007 07:49 PM

Fleetwood Mac - Tusk

highly recommend this for the Lindsay Buckingham songs. "The Ledge" and "What Makes You Think You're the One" could be Modest Mouse or some shit. Guy was doing a lot of coke.

perriwinkle 03-17-2007 07:52 PM

mmmmmmmm i forgot how good Owen - I Do Perceive is

Zmev 03-18-2007 01:33 AM
That's coming through my mail soon enough. I bet it's awesome.
It is pretty good, very dense.

Are you getting it with I'll Sleep When You're Dead?

Sepstrup 03-18-2007 03:42 AM

Of Montreal - Satanic Panic in the Attic.

This is awesome. Has E6 put their name to anything bad yet? I find that everything I listen to from that label is fantastic.

br3ad_man 03-18-2007 04:33 AM

I don't think E6 is all that great, with the exception of Olivia Tremor Control.

AlienEater 03-18-2007 07:05 AM

Oneida - Anthem of the Moon

Neoteric 03-18-2007 07:27 AM

Your Heart Breaks- "Tales From The Gimli Hospital"

downsides: it seems like they used the first take for everything and never went back and fixed any mistakes on this. and some of the vocal levels are off.

upsides: "Nola" is one of the best banjo songs i have ever heard everever.
