Little Man being Erased 08-31-2006 08:14 PM

The hype for Illmatic is 100% correct.

The Great Decay 08-31-2006 08:15 PM

I dig the rhymes and all, but that album didn't strike me as anything particularly brilliant.

Luxor 08-31-2006 08:18 PM

Those are 3 amazing albums.

br3ad_man 08-31-2006 11:30 PM

mewithoutYou - Catch For Us The Foxes

I dig this band a lot.

JonM 08-31-2006 11:31 PM
I was listening to some Daedelus today at work. It's some cool stuff.
Yeah man, I got a couple of his records while I was big into Busdriver, cuz they did that record together, and I've had it for months and never listened to it until tonight. I'm pretty impressed.

Good album.

I am currently digging Antony and the Johnsons again.

Otis Rush

Man can wail.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 09-01-2006 05:38 AM

The new Cursive album is goooooooooooood.

Eliminator 09-01-2006 05:39 AM

Eluvium - Talk Amongst the Trees

Bartender 09-01-2006 07:33 AM

Maudlin of the Well - My Fruit Psychobells.. A Seed Combustible

I've had this for quite a while now, but am just listening to it properly for the first time. Always ambitious, it is by turns brilliant and exciting, and a boring mess (frequently in the same song), but I like it.

Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death

Simply, another great album from a great band.

Also been listening to my two newly acquired Queens of the Stone Age albums, and going back to listen to Rated R in light of the new ones. All relatively solid and enjoyable, in different amounts, though not amongst my favourites, I think. I forget what else.

Leo Kottke - 6 and 12 string guitar

A friend of mine who has recently gotten obsessed with him loaned it to me.

Bob Dylan's Modern Times is really good.
M. Ward - Post War

I can't get past the first three tracks because they're so good.
What type of music is that? I've heard you mention it like a million times, maybe it's worth checking out.

bmxrunner 09-01-2006 05:03 PM

Daydream Nation

Tangy zizzle 09-01-2006 05:03 PM

Mastodon - Blood Mountain

What a mean album. On first listen Remission > Blood Mountain > Leviathan. There's some different stuff on here, a lot more spacey at times and in other times it's real traditional. I need more time.

Kyle 09-01-2006 05:14 PM
It's modeled after early folk music I guess, not that I'm any expert on that. There's acoustic guitar, great vocal melodies, strings, anything you could ask for.
Cool, I'll check that out soon.
