Jawbreaker - Bivouac
Jawbreaker - Unfun
Pixies - Surfer Rosa

I've been listening to Jawbreaker a lot lately. They're quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.
yaaah.
do you have ETC? that's my favorite jawbreaker CD.

Boilermaker 03-15-2007 07:02 PM

No, not yet. I thought it was just a filler CD.

But since you liked it I'll check it out.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-16-2007 12:30 AM
Air - 10,000 Hz Legend
How does that compare to their other albums?

Zmev 03-16-2007 12:30 AM

Not as good, but its cool to hear Beck on two tracks.

Phil 03-16-2007 03:24 AM

Mr Wednesday- The garden where parties grow
Porcupine Tree- Stupid Dream but I've been loving that album for a while now.

samthebassman 03-16-2007 03:44 AM

The Butterfly Effect-Imago

This was my favourite album to come out last year, a measuring stick for all other Australian hard rock bands.

Dismemberment Plan - Change + Is Terrified

Interstate 03-16-2007 05:12 AM

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
Plus 44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating - Basically a Blink album - pretty good on first listen.

samthebassman 03-16-2007 05:16 AM

Plus 44 debut album is pretty good, not as good as the later blink stuff but for me it is on par with angels & airwaves and boxcar racer.

Interstate 03-16-2007 05:26 AM
Plus 44 debut album is pretty good, not as good as the later blink stuff but for me it is on par with angels & airwaves and boxcar racer.
I've only heard one song from Angels & Airwaves so I can't really comment, but it's definitely better than the Boxcar Racer album I've heard.

Interstate 03-16-2007 05:39 AM
That Boxcar Racer album is so bad
Yeah it starts to get to you after like 2 songs.

NP: David Gray - White Ladder

Haven't busted this out in a while

samthebassman 03-16-2007 06:19 AM

Boxcar Racer is pretty solid, what dont you guys like about it?

JonM 03-16-2007 06:27 AM

Blink 183º

samthebassman 03-16-2007 06:47 AM

Has anybody heard the new Kings Of Leon album yet? It is one of the hardest grooving and coolest albums I have heard in a while.

JonM 03-16-2007 09:51 AM

Jeez.

Zebra 03-16-2007 10:11 AM

Talvin Singh - O.K.

I love this album, a great mix of trip-hop, electronica, and world music. "butterfly" is a definite highlight.

mr_jackalope 03-16-2007 10:56 AM

This Heat - Deceit
Silver Apples - Silver Apples
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
Igor Stravinsky (cond. Bernstein) - The Rite of Spring
George Gershwin (cond. Hala) - Rhapsody in Blue
The Cure - Pornography

While there's been a lot of variety to my day today, for the past couple of weeks I've listened to almost nothing but Joy Division. I don't know why, after having listened to them sporadically for many years, that right now they've clicked so perfectly. Maybe it has to do with living in Beijing and all of the strange homesickness that comes with it.

That Panda Bear album has yet to win me over, though it seems to be getting enormouse plaudits across the net so far. It comes off as far too self-indulgent, though I do approve of the Beach Boys influence.

AlienEater 03-16-2007 11:00 AM

I almost got Deceit the other day but I didn't have enough money

Sucks cause I really want it

mr_jackalope 03-16-2007 11:07 AM

You should really get the money because it's one of the best ever.

Zebra 03-16-2007 12:49 PM
Igor Stravinsky (cond. Bernstein) - The Rite of Spring
I've been interested in this for a while, how is it?

Eliminator 03-16-2007 12:56 PM

wait jacka are you talking about self indulgence and then digging the silver apples at the same time

Montana 03-16-2007 01:15 PM

Macromantics - Moments In Movement

I like her.

Minus The Flair 03-16-2007 02:06 PM

Nujabes - Metaphorical Music + Modal Soul
Fink - Biscuits for Breakfast
Minus The Bear - This Is What I Know About Being Gigantic

Nujabes has got to be one of the biggest talents I've heard in a long long time. What's holding him back from being recognized? Needs more reviews on this site methinks.

metalicajaymz 03-16-2007 02:11 PM

I'm with mr_jackalope, that Panda Bear album is the piecest of shit ever. Not that he dislikes it that much, but I do.

Fleetwood Mac - Tusk
Savage Republic - Ceremonial
Jorge Ben - Africa Brasil

Robert Crumb 03-16-2007 04:51 PM

I haven't read anything about Person Pitch yet, but I'm sure the backlash will be appropriate. "Take Pills," "Bros" and "Ponytail" are all fantastic, I could probably leave the rest, though.

Currently listening to Those Were Different Times: Cleveland 1972-1976. Kinda neat, I've always wondered about these bands (Mirrors, Styrenes, Electric Eels), saw this in the used record store so I picked this up on the cheap. The packaging is kinda neat, songs are pretty lo-fi recordings.

The Shins - Chutes too Narrow

Shins album is good, much better than I thought it would be.
