i will try to record kalmah - swamphell this weekend, but i can't promise it ... to much to do for university.
but i promised it to record it at least in july (summer); i can't play it as fast as it should be, so if i will record it this weekend it will be maybe about 80bpm, i don't know.

repcak 05-09-2006 12:32 PM

yesterday i tried Cool Edit Pro but i had an old version (1.2) so i deleted it; afterwards i tried CuBase, but this was a fuked up crack version.
Then i tried Logic Audio... this program is only for professionals - too complex :p

now i downloaded audacity and Kristal, and Kristal is fukking awesome ... i love it :D and its freeware :thumb: i can recommend it everyone. i wonder only that it says you need 1GhZ pc, and i have only 900MhZ, but it works ;)

kurrpt 05-09-2006 12:33 PM

yea man, definitely. The problem is, the files are at home, where i have no internets. My normal modus operendi, was to bring in my iPOD and make tranfers between the two computers. My iPOD since broke, and the iPOD i was borrowing from a friend, he took back.

My little brother is coming to my place today. He has an old RCA mp3 player (20 gig) that i gave him. Ill see if he can let me borrow it, and then ill actually bring my whole archive to work :thumb:

i have one book that i think will be perfect for ya

repcak 05-09-2006 02:41 PM

ehm ... well, i don't know what to say; i haven't known that this thing will be so complicated; now i don't know how to pay back for your efforts.

kurrpt 05-09-2006 02:42 PM

hahaha

the only way to pay me back would be to be patient, and put the information to good use.

... that is all :thumb:

i get off work in 21 minutes. Im assuming my bro will give me a call on my commute home, so i should be able to remember to ask for that player to get the ball rolling...

if everything goes right, you should have something for tomorrow

repcak 05-09-2006 03:54 PM

ähm... i tried to record kalmah swamhell today and the sound quality is awful!! yesterday i thought its ok, but now i think its horrible -> headset mic :(

do you know a way how to improve quality?

/**** ... too much fingerstretching :upset: AUTSCH, my wrist

MRDuCran 05-09-2006 04:06 PM

It's either your tone on your amp, or your imput level is too high. With recording, you don't need to record loud because you can increase it later, check that.

AA-12 05-09-2006 04:08 PM

Go straight into the computer.

Guitar - Cable - 1/8 to 1/4 adapter or whatever - Line In plug.

The Buttloaves 05-09-2006 04:09 PM

So I tuned my guitar down a whole step yesterday. I got the bridge perfectly level, it plays like a machine. I'm learning the lead intro part to Everytime I Die but he does some whammy bar stuff I haven't figured out yet.

Why? It's not hard.

repcak 05-09-2006 04:11 PM

tone of my amp: yes - cheap guitar with bad humbucker + amp
... but my input level was set highest, so this may be the problem. i will try it tomorrow. thanks

lol input level at highest?? That's definately the reason.

The part from like 6 seconds to 8 seconds in, and the very last note, I don't get how he gets it to come up that high. I don't even think I can go a whole step up without ripping the bridge off.

MRDuCran 05-09-2006 04:21 PM

Hit a harmonic on the 17th frets of the B and G strings while your strings are depressed by the bar, then let it come up and lift a bit when it gets level.

Seriously.

With my old Jackson, I did that no problem. It took like five minutes to get that.

It's really simple.
