 Kyle... everybody and their mother's heard I.
I know lol I'm just pointing out the vocals at the beginning of that (and the whole song) rule.

Txus 09-29-2009 03:07 PM

I dislike their vocalist, but I like them as a whole so yeah.

And Cloudkicker sounds very post rock-ish at times, its basically meshuggah + red sparrowes thrown into one great band.

And this is the Metalcore thread, Systral or GTFO

witchxrapist 09-29-2009 03:07 PM

He's better live. Actually, come to think of it, after I saw Meshuggah live I couldn't listen to them on album.

@Mike: damn, I need to check Cloudkicker out.

And Veil Of Maya discussion thx.

MARK MY WORDS, YOU WILL DIE! MARK MY WORDS, YOU WILL DIE!

Txus 09-29-2009 03:10 PM

RetiredAt21 09-29-2009 03:10 PM

Systral ftw.

Nepenthe 09-29-2009 03:10 PM

you can get every cloudkicker release for free off their site. the dude is ****ing awesome.

EDIT haha beaten to it

Txus 09-29-2009 03:11 PM

Systral rule so damn hard, woke up today listening to Black Smoker

witchxrapist 09-29-2009 03:12 PM
common man's collapse is faggy, all things set aside is prime veil of maya
Common Man's Collapse is the same thing, but tighter, and with better production.

So yeah, I don't see why it's cool to be all like ALL THINGS SET ASIDE RULES, COMMON MAN'S COLLAPSE SUCKS.

Mike I'm uploading an old VOM song, you best check this bitch out.

Txus 09-29-2009 03:16 PM

Haha, will do. They have such terrible artwork, I always figured the music sounding about the same.

witchxrapist 09-29-2009 03:20 PM

Yeah, their artwork is so lame, but they're pretty ****ing awesome.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp8oTZNF1lg

Good mix of post-hardcore, melodeath, and Meshuggah. Vocals and drumming are ****ing awesome.

Txus 09-29-2009 03:33 PM

Hmmm, it wasn't bad at all but not something I would listen on a regular basis. I ****ing hate the breakdowns thought, ugh.

witchxrapist 09-29-2009 03:35 PM

Nigga, you's triflin. :(

Dimmu Burger 09-29-2009 04:20 PM

aw shiii sun!

Apoc 09-29-2009 04:31 PM

Haha, Mappy you'd best smoke some bowls with Architects and Keith. Last week I smoked a few with some of the guys from Born of Osiris and After the Burial after a show in PA, 'twas kickass. And since the conversation turned to Meshuggah somehow, After the Burial wears that influence on its sleeve and they pull it off pretty well. Rareform's a pretty tight album.

As for Cloudkicker, I'm a big fan. I haven't had a chance to dig into the new EP, Portmanteau, yet. Anyone know how it compares to the other stuff? I liked The Map is Not the Territory better than The Discovery tbh.

Ventriloquist 09-29-2009 04:43 PM

Back from the Misery Signals + Your Demise + No12 Looks Like You gig. It was pretty fun. Just No 12 was really boring. Never heard Your Demise before but they turned out to be OK and energetic. Misery Signals played pretty much perfectly. Shame that they didn't play Nothing and Coma bleh.

Nepenthe 09-29-2009 04:53 PM

the discovery is my favorite cloudkicker. havent listened to the new ep.

Misery Signals are one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

Oh and mappy when you see Architects be prepared for pretty much half the set being Hollow Crown stuff.

**** sounds immense live. Still wished they played the title track when I saw them would've been an amazing closer.

Apoc 09-29-2009 05:26 PM

Meh I like Hollow Crown - it got me into the band after all - but I've come to prefer Ruin a bit, and Nightmares even more.

I hope they tour the US again soon, I can't make this show but they're way up there on my list of bands to see.

2muchket! 09-29-2009 05:30 PM

For me it goes Nightmares > Ruin > Hollow Crown

But they are far and away my favourite band so I still think all of their releases are fantastic.

Apoc 09-29-2009 05:32 PM

Fair enough. I think they're a decent pick for favorite band as metal goes, they're pretty ****in sick no matter what. Agree with your hierarchy of albums too haha

I get to see BTBAM and The Faceless on Sunday, that'll be disgusting. In Flames is headlining, which I feel like I should be more excited about, but I'm way more pumped about the first two.

Yeah Mis Sigs are one of my fave live bands, I was however, disappointed in the Architects last month tbh. idk maybe they were tired after travelling so far and it was near the end of their Oz tour

beans 09-29-2009 07:05 PM

They are a long way from home
its gotta get tiring to anyone

nevertoolate 09-29-2009 07:07 PM

i still love em tho, they are forgiven, I still have a pic of Sam from that gig as me phone wallpaper

Horse streaming their new album since it leaked. I reckon it might even eclipse R.Borlax

Ventriloquist 09-29-2009 07:13 PM

What's up with the metalcore fans. Today at the Misery Sigs gig there were a lot of 14-18 y/o with skin tight jeans, all had the same **** hairdo. Most of them looked like girls, God.

edit: Chicks were hot tho.

2muchket! 09-29-2009 07:19 PM

Scene kids man. What can you do.

R.Borlax is like their worst album

RunAmokRampant 09-29-2009 07:29 PM

no, A Natural Death is by far the worst.

HighandDriving 09-29-2009 07:37 PM

Nice to see ppl realizing Nightmares is Architects best album.
R.Borlax is like their worst album
R.Borlax is def not their worst album, and lol I saw you rated Horse's new album 5/5.

Their best album is Mechnical Hand.

Nepenthe 09-29-2009 07:42 PM
R.Borlax is like their worst album

HighandDriving 09-29-2009 07:46 PM

R.Borlax has some really sloppy guitar work but it's a dirty album nonetheless.
R.Borlax is like their worst album
lol

still haven't gotten the new HORSE yet, is it really as good as everyone is making it out to be?

HighandDriving 09-29-2009 08:14 PM

It's dec, nothing really special but better than A Natural Disaster.

RetiredAt21 09-29-2009 08:24 PM

HORSE sucks.

witchxrapist 09-29-2009 08:25 PM

nah

Nepenthe 09-29-2009 08:29 PM

nah theyre pretty good. r. borlax is definitely the best, mechanical hand is pretty solid, but everything afterwards sucks ***.

singer was pretty funny at their show i went to last year. kept telling really epic stories about how they came up with the lyrics and ****. i was drunk as hell dont really remember but one of them involved him being lost in the desert for like 200 days and an eagle speaking to him.

witchxrapist 09-29-2009 08:30 PM

yeah, he's funny as hell

he ****ing tore the carpet off the stage and threw it into the crowd complaining that it "wasnt diy" last time i saw them

Nepenthe 09-29-2009 08:34 PM

best thing thats ever happened at any show ive ever been to was when i pissed off the singer from the red chord. i was piss drunk, go figure, and i really hate the red chord, so things were destined to not be pretty. i kept yelling obscenities and cool things, and while he was talking once i screamed, "just shut the **** up and play". and he looked at me and was like "yeah i guess thats a pretty good idea huh" and got real pouty looking. was hilarious.
