Listening to the whole thing over and over again makes my head hurt. But yeah, those are money. "Black Maria" is sweet, too. I'm about halfway through writing a review for it.

Really?

Kyle 03-14-2007 08:53 AM

I'm just digging everything by The Cure at the moment, such an amazing band.

Particuarly Head on the Door, Wish and Disintegration.

The Great Decay 03-14-2007 11:06 AM

I haven't listened to the Cure in a long while. But the song "...It's Friday I'm in love" or whatever, is damn catchy.

pixiesfanyo 03-14-2007 11:18 AM

Yusef Lateef - Live In Sweden

I think this is '67?

JonM 03-14-2007 11:24 AM

Lately I've been digging live poetry more than music, actually, though when the two convene upon the same moment, it's nice. I like Ed Sanders, John Giorno, and Anne Waldman, because their poetry is music.

Somehow, I feel like no one in here cares, though.

perriwinkle 03-14-2007 11:35 AM

yeah because none of us are capable of appreciating poetry

The Great Decay 03-14-2007 11:40 AM

I used to be into "slam poetry", but other than that the only recorded poetry reading sort of thing I've listened to is Bukowski.

JonM 03-14-2007 11:47 AM
yeah because none of us are capable of appreciating poetry
I didn't say anything about capability, I just know how people in here tend to react to my less-than-satisfactorily-indie pursuits.

sweboy 03-14-2007 11:58 AM

I'm not really into poetry; lyrics in music is basically the same thing, except you get the music aswell.

pixiesfanyo 03-14-2007 12:00 PM

I like some spoken word. But most of the time I find it insanely boring and pretentious.

The Jungler 03-14-2007 12:49 PM

Neutral Milk Hotel - On Avery Island
Wilco - Summerteeth
Grizzly Bear - Yellow House

Neutral Milk Hotel album is kind of a disappointment. I knew it wouldn't be as good as Aeroplane, but I still had hope. Other two albums rule though.

asymm 03-14-2007 04:14 PM

Today...
Arve Henriksen - Sakuteiki
The Sea and Cake - Everybody
Fourcolor - Letter of Sounds

ATM 03-14-2007 04:27 PM

Saul Williams does some cool spoken word.
Really?
Yeah, downloaded it not long ago, expected nothing but it blew me away, a really good album.

Zebra 03-14-2007 05:50 PM

Can - Future Days

I like it, the ambience is excellent.

Boilermaker 03-14-2007 05:54 PM

Cornershop - Girls Gotta Have It

Almost as good as When I Was Born for the 7th Time, which is really kind of surprising.

pulseczar 03-14-2007 06:21 PM

Low - Things We Lost in the Fire
Juana Molina - Son*

*not digging at all, the most boring album i've heard in a while

Glitterati 03-14-2007 06:32 PM
Nick Caves new guys "Grindermen"s debut.
I have only heard to track "no pussy blues" on the radio, what is the rest of the album like?

The Great Decay 03-15-2007 12:45 AM

I only have Murder Ballads. S'hit's good, but depressing.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-15-2007 02:01 AM
It would be a total 5 if flav didn't **** up every song with his presence.
idk I like most of his contributions, especially She Watch Channel Zero and Terminator X To The Edge of Panic but I'm not keen on his solo tracks.

today I've mostly been listening to Air, My Bloody Valentine and Kool G Rap & DJ Polo.

Interstate 03-15-2007 11:30 AM

Matisyahu - Live At Stubbs!
The Natural History - Beat Beat Heartbeat
The Arcade Fire - Funeral

Pulp - Different Class
Air - 10,000 Hz Legend

Robert Crumb 03-15-2007 03:01 PM

The Future of the Left single that came out earlier this year. Good stuff. I'll have to remember to look out for their album. Ex-Mclusky and such yay.

Interstate 03-15-2007 03:27 PM

Just listened to a few albums I haven't heard in a while:

Nick Drake - Pink Moon
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Vashti Bunyan - Just Another Diamond Day

I forgot how mindblowing Vashti Bunyan's voice is.

perriwinkle 03-15-2007 04:39 PM

wow.

i never listened to Elliot Smith - XO in its entirety until today and its on its fourth spin.. this is incredible why did i not listen through this earlier? i think he has one of my favorite voices. the second time i heard "I Don't Understand" i was like yeah its settled.

sweboy 03-15-2007 05:02 PM

Jawbreaker - Bivouac
Jawbreaker - Unfun
Pixies - Surfer Rosa

I've been listening to Jawbreaker a lot lately. They're quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.

asdf 03-15-2007 05:21 PM

The Pogues - Rum, Sodomy and the Lash
Slayer - Reign in Blood

I wanted to listen to some Irish-esque music because of st. patricks day, but by the time I got to the end of the album, I just wanted to rock my face off. That's where Slayer comes in.

pulseczar 03-15-2007 05:36 PM
he killed himself
