(on Aborted) i got their newer album before gormageddon and i thought they were pretty lame (not BAD, just not right for me) but after getting goremageddon my opinion of them went up

kudos

jrowa001 05-06-2008 09:45 AM

thanks StevieII ill check those out, sounds like i got some work to do. i have the Entombed album actually, i forgot to list that.

Stevie II 05-06-2008 10:25 AM

no problem :)

BroRape 05-06-2008 10:36 AM

nothing beats early nineties when it comes to metal. i always argue with my dad about that. he's 41 and he's yet to understand that judas priest blows.

pate 05-06-2008 10:52 AM

Because he's right.

RetiredAt21 05-06-2008 11:07 AM

I can't get my dad into death metal. Whenever he hears me listening to it he's always like "What's with all the screaming? Don't any of these guys sing?" NO NO NO NO NO NO.

He's cool with the riffage, though.

People have a hard time expanding their perception of music. It's a shame because there is so much great stuff out there in every genre that people don't try because music is only something pre-packaged and used as instant gratification instead of something to savor and relish.

Why are you such a failure?

Stevie II 05-06-2008 11:10 AM

yeah lots of people just can't stomach metal vocals, but they like the instrumentation

It's a shame that metal's so berated amongst the majority of people because it is so rich. Most people just listen to music for entertainment and something for as you say instant gratification and so they don't learn to appreciate stuff like metal.

FatalEnergy 05-06-2008 02:11 PM

New Asphyx song is goooood

7SOR 05-06-2008 02:43 PM

lol @ title.

Song is awesome.

dinosaurxbrocore 05-06-2008 03:02 PM

yeah, it is really good, aside from the vocals (but the vocals are at least raw)

also, title is elite

Pete 05-06-2008 03:09 PM

i havent heard the new Aborted yet, cool. most new death metal albums this year have been surprisingly good, if you ask me. deicide, origin, even hate eternal.

Tyler 05-06-2008 03:09 PM

new deicide isn't surprisingly good or good at all MAN

Pete 05-06-2008 03:10 PM

i think it was good, better than i expected

dinosaurxbrocore 05-06-2008 03:12 PM
i havent heard the new Aborted yet, cool. most new death metal albums this year have been surprisingly good, if you ask me. deicide, origin, even hate eternal.
the new aborted is deathcore and really forced sounding

masscows 05-06-2008 03:16 PM

Aborted was never what they were choked up to be anyway, don't really see what the big deal is with them.

Pete 05-06-2008 03:18 PM
the new aborted is deathcore and really forced sounding
yeah i listened to two new songs and they werent all that. i liked how they had some hardcore shouting and stuff in the past, but this was different and not so good.
Aborted was never what they were choked up to be anyway, don't really see what the big deal is with them.
good live though

dinosaurxbrocore 05-06-2008 03:19 PM

the hardcore shouts sound so weak now, like it's more of an aggressive talking thing

what is the new Hate Eternal like?

masscows 05-06-2008 04:05 PM
what is the new Hate Eternal like?
samey, boring, repetitive etc

Dimmu Burger 05-06-2008 04:06 PM

Oh ok. Thanks for saving me space on my hard drive.

Pete 05-06-2008 04:13 PM
what is the new Hate Eternal like?
it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect, the drumming is groovy as ever, but if you didnt like them before... it's nothing spectacular

Dimmu Burger 05-06-2008 05:03 PM

I haven't really heard much other than the video on headbanger's ball, which was generic.

Pete 05-06-2008 05:05 PM

it's pretty generic death metal, their drummer is perhaps the worlds best drummer though

masscows 05-06-2008 05:06 PM

Definitely not. His kicks live are pretty sloppy and it's not like he does anything interesting or creative.

Dimmu Burger 05-06-2008 05:08 PM

Who does something interesting and creative in death metal drumming? no sarcasm intended.

masscows 05-06-2008 05:11 PM

Alex Hernandez from Immolation. Their new drummer, Steve Shalatay is pretty creative too (this just off the top of my head).
