Whenever some new user makes a decent thread asking a question, out of the first 10 posts, 8 of them are unfunny remarks that are basically just malking fun of the thread starter. Also, peple who aren't used to the way things work around here are immediately laughed at. Sure, lot's of impulse posting, but the forum in general is not [I]that[/I] welcoming.

I agree with Stormrider.
It's not that welcoming, the traffic for new posters is quite low if you ask me.
But I guess that's what happens if you have a tight community.

Lots of insider jokes/racist jokes.
Also lots of familiarity, calling people by their actual first name, makes it seem like a tight knit community.
