Hey RNR, I can just delete a post and you'll have the 1000th page no more.

I won't do that though, because I'm nice. Unless you piss me off......

Anyway my Classical Education thread is going up tonight on John Williams so y'all should check that out.

RCA 07-28-2005 10:11 PM
who are you? People who change their names to the first letters of each word in their old name are annoying.

yes, i'm aware of the irony.
Bah, I've been this for two years almost. Well, kinda.

I have no clue who half of you are. I just started posting in this thread again yesterday.

Moses 07-28-2005 10:26 PM

Just yesterday and you got the 1000th post? Lucky.... :upset:

BludgeonySteve 07-28-2005 10:28 PM

Yeah but I had about 700 posts in the original community thread so i'm not a n00b to this whole community.

Moses 07-28-2005 10:32 PM

I see. Well good timing to say the least.

magicbus 07-28-2005 10:45 PM

Hey Ray, where have you been at?

Illmatic 07-28-2005 10:47 PM

I have been at Chicago.

Moses 07-28-2005 10:48 PM

About 2 hours from me. I go there every Fourth of July because of relatives..

Illmatic 07-28-2005 10:52 PM

Where do you live?

Steerpike 07-28-2005 11:01 PM

Damn, there's a lot of threads I need to catch up on. I've been in and out all day with not a lot of time to spare. I still need to read Cain and Moses' threads.

A large portion of my not-running-around-on-errands time has been spent reading Robert Rodriguez's book, "Rebel Without a Crew." I just now finished the chapter on the postproduction El Mariachi, looked up and actually said aloud, "Holy shit, it's 1 AM?"

Kingofdudes 07-28-2005 11:03 PM
Hey RNR, I can just delete a post and you'll have the 1000th page no more.
I did that multiple times in the old thread

Milwaukee. We were talking about it before, I said I some guys tried to jump me.

Oh yeah, Steerpike I failed to get any Indiana Jones in my John Williams thread. :upset:

Still has some great stuff.

So I saw Dredg last night, hung out with the gf tonight...it's been a fun week :D

Illmatic 07-29-2005 12:12 AM

Yow! Vince has a lady now!

Meh, I'm on a bit of a downer because I didn't quite want to leave Chicago.

I do indeed :D

I've never been there...but I'd like to go. That's where my gf will be for school, and I have lots of family there, seems like a place that'd be fun to visit.

Illmatic 07-29-2005 12:16 AM

Where will she be going to school? DePaul? UI-C?

Endless Obsession 07-29-2005 12:17 AM

I went to the Yankees game today and it was awesome. We sat right behind the Twins bullpen, and when JC Romero was warming up I started yelling "JC you f*ucking suck"", then I get yelled at by the security guards and I had to stop.

Then when we were walking to Penn Station we passed Madison Square Garden. This guy came up to us and was like "hey, are you guys Knicks fans?". And I was like "Yeah I love the Knicks!"(even though I hate them and love the Cavs". Then he was like "you want to be on TV" and I said yeah.

So he interviewed me and my brother about the Larry Brown hiring and it was on tv on MSG at 9, but I didnt get on. My brother did though. Still a fun day today.

EDIT: Question. Why do people not put real uploads in their posts anymore? instead they do hxxp.

Follow The Reaper 07-29-2005 12:20 AM

Because YSI has started to block links that are posted here, so in order to beat them people put hxxp instead.

Random question: How do you pronounce Bal Sagoth?

Endless Obsession 07-29-2005 12:22 AM
Yeah, you're cool
It was funny. I had a good laugh at it especially cause he turned at me and starting muttering something in Spanish.

How do they know if they are posted on this site? Did they have some guy come in here and search for them?

Mekkalayakay 07-29-2005 01:15 AM

Is anybody sure or are these just educated guesses? :(

KBSD91 07-29-2005 01:31 AM

HA! Just got back from Gigantour. It was only the main stage bands: Nevermore, Fear Factory, then Megadeth.

Nevermore was great. They only played 5 songs, none of which I know, but I am now a fan from what I've heard. Fear Factory, was actually pretty lame. I only like Slave Labor and they didn't even play that song. But the singer tried getting the crowd into the music shouting, "Hey, hey, hey, hey" and probably only 20 people shouted back and after the song he gave us a speech about how we should be getting into the music and how the people shouting are the true fans. Screw them, in the middle of their set, me and my friend went behind the stage with our passes and got all the Megadeth members autographs and shook hands with them. It was great since Mustaine is one of my idols.

Dream Theater just killed, they played Pull Me Under, Lies, Panic Attack, and Fatal Tradgedy, they played more but those are the only ones I can remember, by the time they started playing the stadium was now almost filled, and everyone was getting into it. It was awesome.

Megadeth came out, opened with Blackmale the Universe. They played only 3 songs I couldn't recognize. Other songs were Hangar 18, Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets, Skin of my Teeth, Tornado of Souls, Peace Sells...but Who's buying, Kick the Chair and Holy Wars...The Punishment Due. There was some pyrotechnics and it was just an awesome show. I think I have whiplash my neck is so sore.

Shred Danson 07-29-2005 01:40 AM

Why am I not surprised that Fear Factory was lame?

Oh that's right, Dino's not in the band anymore.
Why am I not surprised that Fear Factory was lame?

Naw.

They have and always will be lame.

Bands like Strapping Young Lad and Mnemic are doing music that Fear Factory can only fathom of creating in their sleep.

They are serioulsy one of the worst metal bands in my book, so god damn boring, especially live. I almost fell asleep during their set when I saw them with Cob and LoG. Their music and their vocalist lacks any feeling, I could not even mosh to the stuff, yet I see all these other people freak out and go crazy because FF is on, especially my fanboy friend.

/doesn't get that band.

NP - The Black Dahlia Murder - A Vulgar Picture

Shred Danson 07-29-2005 01:57 AM

You just reminded me of how awesome SYL is live.

Six Foot Revolver 07-29-2005 03:30 AM

So I have just returned from CD shopping. What did you get I hear you scream well here it is:
The Specials - Too Much Too Young 3.99
Radiohead - OK Computer 13.99 (Yes I know it is stupidly expensive but it is possibly my favourite album of all time and I couldn't say no)
Muse - Origin of Symmetry 2.99 (I know I should own this album being a fanboy but I haven't got around to buying a real copy until now)

NJMetalMeister 07-29-2005 08:17 AM

So some good news for you lads, first of all i finally transferred a lot of important mp3s to my computer, i.e. this hasnt been used in 11 months since ive been in germany and now it has a lot of music that has been released in that time, so if you guys want to downlaod anything from me from soulseek, can do. I know some of you wanted certain things, Stoic wanted !T.O.O.H.!, and for some reason im thinking Ollie wanted something, but not totally sure on that one. So you can get it from me on Soulseek: NJMetalMeister, or you can leave me a request somewhere and Ill just make a zip and YSI as my upspeed here no longer blows goats!

With that in mind, and the triumphant return of Metal Archives, expect a new thread from me probably later today.

Also i need some opinions, as I cant decide which computer case to buy. I have narrowed it down to two:

or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811170020

What do you guys think?
